You cannot keep shipping Exotics in the state they are and then RAPIDLY nerf them because “insert reason here.”
Let it be known, it will FOREVER be better to deliver underwhelming Exotics and buff them after the fact than tear down “overperforming” Exotics.
I’m getting really tired of getting new stuff only to be made to return to what I was just doing for forever.
Edit:
Not to mention the Boots of the Assembler nerf nullifies subclass specific abilities such as “Electrostatic Charge” (bottom tree Stormtrance) and “Benevolent Dawn” (mid tree Dawnblade).
Why would I use an Exotic that actively works AGAINST my subclass instead of WITH it?

1 RespuestaWould you rather they disable the exotic on Day 1 once they realized it was released bugged and overpowered? Would you rather they disable Colony and Prometheus Lens given they can cheese Praetorian shields? Would you rather they disable the VOG raid given you can cheese Atheon? Would you rather they immediately disable raids and Nightfalls back when you could enter then with 12 people? Would you rather they patch the Menagerie chest farm immediately when it was discovered? The fact of the matter is that this game sometimes has bugs, and sometimes those bugs benefit the player. In some cases, they allow the bug to stay in the game for people to enjoy them. For the new Hunter Exotic, it was clearly released in a bugged state, but rather than remove it from the game (outside of the Day 1 raid race), they allowed people to enjoy it while it lasted. The same is true for everything else I've listed above. Things eventually get patched, but it is nice to enjoy them for a period of time.

5 RespuestasThere are too many exotics in the game. This is definitely true. Rather then coming out with new ones to try and top the old ones (just for them to inevitably get nerfed anyway), Bungie should go back and rework all the old useless exotics that got left behind. Buff a few per class each season, or totally rework some of them. Like come on, we all want Stag to actually be useful. (It looks so cool). Think back to alllllllll~ those old exotics that got left behind. Rather then flooding the loot pool with more, give the old ones some Love.

3 RespuestasIt’s called bait n switch.

I could understand the nerfs if we were allowed to wear or use more than one an exotic. At the point I could understand the nerfs. But no only able to use and wear one at a time. Oh I’m sorry that some can use the exotic to it’s full extent and it be nerfed because of some bs pvp reason as usual. It gets old. Would be better to implement my outlaw idea. Only one person in every pvp game mode can use a certain exotic or weapon load out at a time along with subclasses. Fixes everything to a point of you have to use something that someone else is not using. Yea there are flaws and it’s not perfect but it’s better than needing everything because of X reason.

This has probably become a meme in bungie internal communications .

After most of the past few seasons exotics being absolute trash just be happy you got a taste of something better.

2 RespuestasIf they only applied the same treatment to stasis, at least they will be consistent then.

Got star eater yesterday too...

2 RespuestasDAILY REMINDER THIS IS BUNGIES MMO FOMO FEAR OF MISSING OUT, is the basis to everything Bungie Does. -- They KNOW the New Exotics, were OP, so they shipped them out. And than Figured PEOPLE WILL GRIND for the Pay yo Win Extoics Available in The New DLC. -- Bungie gets to Profit for a Few WEEK by having increased sales on DLC, on Season Passes, and ext. For a Few weeks, thaaaan they go and Nerf , or release a statement saying ,"due to fans feed back ____. Don't FORGET Bungie has SEEN profits %50-%100, jump in the first few weeks after releasing something they already plan to nerf, because people want to PLAY the OP stuff before they nerfed. The PROBLEM Is FOMO it's predatory and allows may other sections of the Game to be Curated to Bungies Likings

Wanna explain? with an example?

3 RespuestasLoL Star Eaters actually got buffed. It was capped at 60% Now the Cap is 90% more Dps while only having to pick up one more Orb.
-
If it's one thing any reasonable person would agree with it's that no matter what they do, it's never good enough. We are either going to roll with the punches or leave. That's it.
-
3 RespuestasWe have too many exotics already. Exotics should feel unique and powerful and not like an extended arm of legendaries. If you have to many u will simply not use them because u feel overwhelmed.

6 RespuestasThey need to just start playtesting their game. The fact that star eater scales shipped with the ability to give a 100% damage buff is absurd, it should have never made it into the game in the first place, then it never would have needed to be nerfed. There is a stigma around asking for things to be nerfed in this game but people need to realize that it is because bungie loves shipping things completely overtuned. Stasis is another good example. It is not the community's fault for playing the game and realizing how poorly tested it is.
-
IMHO.... Exotics should be over powered always. That way we have a difficult choice of what exotic to use and not be pigeon holed into using two or three. The objective of playing a game is to have fun. destiny is turning into more work than fun.

4 RespuestasBungie knows they have players and then they have addicts. The addicts are caught - hook, line, and sinker. They complain, suffer battered partner syndrome, buy next DLC thinking things will improve, and continue to play. But a large market are just casual players that need something to chase. If that shiny new raid, sub class, aspect, and here *exotic item* is OP - then they try really hard to get it. So it helps Bungie's image if players that just came back get that exotic item and instantly think "Destiny is awesome! I just got that new exotic and the game is so much fun right now!" But in Bungie terms *trying hard* doesn't mean anything is difficult - but rather time consuming - and often extremely repetitive.
-
1 RespuestaWhy should they bother developing unique exotics if they are not going to be worth using? This whole season everything is meh.
-
They did that with the Vex and people are complaining it’s underwhelming.
-
1 Respuesta2 weeks to nerf 2 of the 3 new exotics, unbelievable. Used the hunter boots last night, pretty much useless now.
-
Editado por DriftedColt4179: 5/26/2021 11:24:38 AMThey don’t test anything. They leave the testing to the first week after release. If you’re getting you hopes up with in the first couple weeks with a new exotic you must be new to destiny.

14 RespuestasEditado por Darth Lunchbox: 5/25/2021 8:25:39 PMThey might as well just abandon exotic weapons and just make them legendaries, they sure as hell don't feel exotic anymore. There is no excitement when they drop in the open world anymore, they don't really do much for power level, they are almost always outclassed by some legendary equivalent, and so on and so on and so on.
-
This is the same group that said they couldn't balance pinnacles or other gear so they sunset it. Then bring them back a season or two later as "new rewards" Man they are a joke. So nothing surprises me with these clowns.

2 Respuestasthe warlock one yeah sad story, hunter one got buffed on total damage so is fine
