So if you did freelance you'd get 6 people of the same skill level?
I'll save you the effort of investigation. No you don't.

Wrong. You don't get 5 other people of your skill level. You get 1 on your level on the opposing side and 4 spuds. It's been tested before.

It's "oh we'll just get you close and hope you don't notice"

Let me know when you find the system that does exactly that. Puts you in a game with your equals and not the people below or above your skill level.....but exactly on your level. Then you can call it SBMM. Not close. Not above Not Below.

You seem to be struggling to understand what SBMM is and how it works.

Then you should stay stuck in the queue until a player is available. Or you forfeit the systems true meaning. I know how it should work but know it's current implementation does not work as it states. Another tool in the gameplay that's designed to keep people happy but fails to do it's job.

If it only matched with people exactly at your “skill”, then it would never work. Very simple concept...
Then it's not SBMM. It's Close based match making.
No, it’s quite literally what SBMM is. It matches based on skill. You’re struggling with a very basic concept here.

I dont believe it is based on individual skill, ive been under the impression for the longest time that it is based on team "elo" rather than player. Like player 1 is really highly ranked, they will throw 2 low ranked players with then so they elo matches the 3 moderate players from the other team. The individual elo is used for team sorting but I believe matchmaking uses something entirely different. Whatever it is, it's garbage. And their attempts to fix it(in iron banner) was also garbage.
