Alignment: “Then that already eliminates a couple suspects on the list.
Lambda and Aifos have no reason to use that kind of equipment to break the cameras. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if someone got their hands on that kind of tech. Apparently, they already know vital information on how these machines are made and where to poke them for more destructive results.
Tager is definitely not the one behind this either. Even if he were to be controlled somehow, someone was bound to know if a big red man was wandering the halls.
Fukua is one I don’t know much about, but if fire is her specialty, I’m sure we would have seen some burn marks if her ability is hot enough to cut through that dense of a metal.
I suspected Aaron would be the closest one to a killer here, but after this, my confidence in that claim has diminished. An ability to turn into metal would likely weigh the user down, so it’s unlikely he could reach that high to cut the camera in the first place without scaling the walls. Even then, it would be nearly impossible to do so without leaving some sort of evidence. But, as I said, the suspect could have gotten hands on technology relating to the ‘angels’, so I wouldn’t completely rule him out.
Aubrey has the closest ability out of all of them. Water, given enough density, PSI, and/or force can pull off some surprising feats, and we are technically trapped in it. But that wouldn’t explain how she could just appear and disappear out of nowhere.
As for you, psychologist, you were able to split the camera apart and you were standing right next to it when I found you, but as it stands, I have little to no reason to suspect you given the help you’re providing.
What say you?”

“Well, the Murakumos are bound to their respective PFDs, from what I understand. So, in order for someone to get access to that tech they’d have to control Aifos and Lambda to do it. I’m woth you on Tager. He probabpy couldn’t make a clean cut, either. He’s mostly on my list just to be thorough. As for Fukua, I’m not actually sure if she’d leave burn marks. Her powers are soul-based or something from what I could dig up, but I couldn’t dig up too much. I wouldn’t discount Aaron just yet. Turning into metal probably comes wuth some sort of super strength, yeah? Otherwise he’d just freeze up when he shifts. You’ve got me on Aubrey, though. Nothing about hydrokinesis screams ‘stealth’. Not unless we were out in open water anyway. And for me, well, of course I know I’m innocent. You don’t, though. Who’s to say I’m not just helping you specifically so you don’t suspect me, hm?”
-
Alignment: “An excellent question.” He gets off of the bench and stands up. Alignment: “In any case, I must thank you for the info. I’ll do a bit more digging myself before I point any fingers. See you around, psychologist.”
-
“Have fun, detective.” He says with a small chuckle.
-
Alignment then tries to find Aubrey to see how she’s doing.
-
You head up to Elysium, and then to the Towers, where you find Aubrey looking awe-struck at the arcs of lightning jumping between the spires at the center of the room. “It’s incredible, isn’t it?” She asks as you approach. “This structure provides power to the entire city, and in such a dazzling way, too.”
-
Alignment: “A boy named Aaron was in awe as well. You seem to be doing better.”
-
She let out a sigh. “I’ll admit I’m still rather upset about what’s happened, but yes, I’ve calmed down a bit. I was hoping this soectacle here would get my mind off things.”
-
Alignment: “It does have that effect on people. You sure you feel safe alone, though?”
-
“That dear Kokonoe assured us it should be safe, as long as we don’t stray too far from her security drones. There’s always a few around this room.”
-
Alignment: “Then I’ll have to see if I can find a blind spot. You have any way to defend yourself just in case?”
-
She nodded. “I’m not the most adept with it, I’ll admit, but I do have a bit of water magic. I’m sure I could likely buy time to call one of the drones for help.”
-
Alignment: “Water can do many things if used properly. Well, enjoy yourself while you can. After all, that’s what we came here for in the first place.”
-
“Indeed so. It’s a power that runs in my family, and I have seen some incredible feats. I was never into all of that magical nonsense, myself, however, so I’m not all that well trained. In any case, thank you, detective. I do wosh you luck with your search.”
-
Alignment then heads to Kokonoe’s office.
-
Heading down to the Observation Deck you find Kokonoe at her computer as per usual. Tager & Theta are sitting on a bench against the far wall. Kokonoe looks up at you as you enter. “Yes?”
-
Alignment: “I’d like to discuss your security system with you. Specifically your potential blind spots.”
-
“At present what I have is a network of mobile security drones. They have free movement through the city, so they shouldn’t have any particular blind spots. However, they were designed to work in tandem with my security cameras, which I obviously don’t have, and as a result they’re spread rather thin, having to handle observation as well.”
-
Alignment: “How troublesome. Think you could keep some of those drones in certain places?”
-
“Not without leaving some significant gaps in security. As soon as our murderer caught on that I’m using them in place of my broken cameras they’d probaly wind up with the same fate, too.”
-
Alignment: “Which of these cameras were destroyed first?”
-
“The ones in the Grand Hall. Followed by one of the cameras in the garden. From there it went rather sporadically, though.”
-
Alignment: “That would mean they had to originate from near the Grand Hall besides the Garden. Think you could get someone to modify these drones?”
-
“Unfortunately that doesn’t pin it down very much. The Grand Hall is right in the center of the city, and connects to most major areas directly. In any case, if anyone’s going to be modifying my drones it’s me. Why?”
-
Alignment: “I was thinking that we could make these little robots serve as a trap as well as a camera. For example, once destroyed, maybe it could cover the suspect in cement to buy us time as we get to them. Just a thought.”
-
“Easier said than done. For one, none of the cameras picked up anything before they were destroyed, meaning it’d be difficult to attack where they came from. Even if we fired an omni-directional attack, many of my cameras were suspended fairly high off the ground, meaning they can likely destroy them from a range. We couldn’t fire off something omni-directional with that much range without risk of possibly damaging the structure, which could lead to us all drowning.”
