A white-haired boy sits in front of the door to the old building, cross-legged. He looks around at nothing in particular, his hands wrapped around a thin leather-bound tome.

The wind whips, and the door opens, a head poking out. "Why Hollow! Do come in."
-
He blinks as he looks over his shoulder and rises to a stand position in an unnatural manner. “Good morning,” he says as he enters the threshold, regardless of the actual time.
-
Depending on the amount of Sylver in the poor sod, he either recognizes the flaming Daemoness in front of him with two feathery black wings as Keria of The Reef, or a seeming nightmare from Hell. "What brings you to my little competition?"
-
He holds the light tome out before him. “A spell.”
-
She looks confused for a moment, "Oh! Yes thank you." She takes it, and opens the cover.

A basic description marks the first page. DISTORT MAGIC Distort the flow of magic and energy in spells, enchantments or other applications to cause faculties to err or unravel altogether. Works on elements of varying complexity though is less effective against more potent magic. Though the instructions and spellforms are simple, they use basic elements and properties that are strange and hard to grasp for most. One might need certain affinities to make this work.
-
She looks at it curiously, "Interesting. How would you use this in a situation worthy of it's use?"
-
He shrugs. “It can unravel security enchantments and magical mechanisms, but it works especially well in combat despite its simplicity. No one knows what to do when their spells start malfunctioning.”
-
"Interesting. Use it on me." She snaps her fingers, and a deck of cards float into the air, and start rotating in a pattern.
-
He examines the spinning cards for a moment before casting the spell. There’s a sudden shift of energy, a spike in magic accompanied by a draw—a push and pull. The energies supporting the cards are thrown awry, misfocusing and over- and under-supplying.
-
The cards get thrown every which way, the pattern being flayed to piece. "Hm."
-
“On offensive magic it can also cause malfunctions or backlash. Lethal backlash.”
-
"So it could essentially make a spell backfire, therefore killing the caster?"
-
He nods. “Mhmm. Especially in the heat of battle.”
-
"You're giving them a steep competition Hollow. Thanks for coming." The door opens.
-
“Mhmm,” he repeats before moving to the door. He leaves the tome with Keria.
-
"Farewell Hollow. Tell him I said hello." She waves.
-
He looks at her for a moment with crystalline eyes before saying, “Goodbye,” and walking out the door.
-
She chuckles, and returns to the armchair.
