The End of Destiny
Hi all! So I personally am under the assumption that Destiny will end after Lightfall. I love hearing peoples thoughts and speculation on what will happen.
So, if you are stopping by feel free to leave your fan fics or whatnot of what you think will happen in Witch Queen and Lightfall. I love reading these so go crazy. Thanks!

I really just want a game where our guardian is the main character and speaks alot. Totally new locations outside of the solar system would be cool. Other expansions can expand on other characters. It would also be cool for our guardian to come back to earth for the final location and just see how humanity has expanded assuming we beat the darkness. Or even better would be a prequel like halo reach. Destiny: Collapse Humanity desperately tries to save itself against an overwhelming foe. The person who was our guardian before resurrection can be the main character and they have a team like noble team.

I'm half and half. I would be happy if Destiny ended, because then I wouldn't feel obligated to log in every week to make sure I don't miss time gated content. But I would also be happy if they kept going, because Raids to me have always been one of the most enjoyable things in gaming. I wouldn't even care if they made new Raids, I just love playing Raids.

For a long time I thought this would be the time that the game ends and Matter begins. Makes sense with timelines. Destiny would have had it's full time and the new game would have time to be ready. Not totally sure now as in that same time we could have a collection of 3 darkness sets and only be ready to content vault our light. In short we would have enough darkness abilities for them to take away our "connection" to the light for a time to rework the light subclasses based on Luke fanticy land.... I guess time will tell. Maybe a little of both maybe none of it.

Pete Parsons----CEO of Bungie----has hinted strongly that Destiny will go till at least 2025. When he spole of Bungie being a two IP developer, and there being a "transformed" Destiny. The implication being that the two games will be Destiny (2), and Matter.

Since they have 2 more big dlc’s already done and most of the content to go with the next two year I’m guessing they will start working on the couple of years worth of game play.

I won’t buy Destiny when this is done if Lukey is going to make it like WoW. The grind in this game yields little for the time you put in. Imagine a full blown rpg. Screw that.

It would be a great point where they could make a major change to the game, perhaps introduce more choices like the one in Joker’s wild, let us choose a side in the second collapse.

2 Respuestas“Moon and Beyond” vidoc had a whiteboard that showed at least some of the games future. If you go back you’ll see it extends to year 7 at the very end of the whiteboard. Lightfall will be Y6 so at minimum I would expect 1 last year post Lightfall. But realistically, Bungie could keep this game going for another decade if they wanted. They have both the story and the funding to do so.

Once next gen has saturated the market I would be surprised if they didn't launch d3 at some point.

I desperately hope there’s a d3 after lightfall, but with Bungie trying to expand their horizons after 2025 it probably won’t happen

1 RespuestaHighly doubt it Xivu arath is still out there, the Cabal empire is still a threat, the Vex are still a threat, and the Darkness definitely won't just die in their true first DLC There's a lot of story to get through before the end times

hopefully we have to evac. our beloved sol system and instead of traveling from planet to planet you travel ship to ship, kinda like space pirates idk. that could either be the rest of the story, a campaign after lightfall, or a season. im also hoping for a new dark age

I'm in the camp that believes that after Lightfall we'll get another "trilogy". I really don't foresee Bungie deviating from the current model of seasonal expansions and setting up a D3 at any point. This is just my guess though.
