Nova warp Changes

I know Dmg made a reddit post,(ironic he goes there instead of the forums, it’s OK DMG, you can roll up and let us know what’s up it ain’t that toxic) anyways... hey we can start our own discussion on changes we can make to the class(really just the super). From playing the class a lot, 4000ish match’s, the best change would be to decrease the charge speed. Because let’s be real, the only way to not get instantly melted or easily sniped in your head is by being up in the air blinking and dark blinking and dropping down on top of them. The problem is the charge is so dam long that most people can just walk out of its blast radius before it’s ready. This obviously translates to terrible Super V Super play as well. Mathematically nova warp will lose every super engagement period, it’s the worst, there is no rebuttal to that, every other super can get a killing combo off faster then it can by a wide margin. Pair that with the fact most supers have an EXTREMELY generous hit box and range(we’ve all seen striker/spectral /arcstaff do a 90 degree turn to someone you’re not even aiming at) nova warp doesn’t have chance. Solution to all of this without turning it back to forsaken levels, decrease the charge time, and that’s it. Rest of the subclass is good. Edit: I’ve seen a lot of post stating that removing the actual blast animation would help a lot as well(which I agree, for those of you that don’t know warp has both a charge animation and a blast animation that’s around .3-.4 seconds on top of the long charge, and if you die in this no explosion goes off). Also remove the part where you don’t get a blast off because you have right at 1/8th of your super left. (The charge rate and animation is so slow that you only get to really use 7/8ths of the super bar, other wise you CANNOT get an attack off.

  • Had to stop reading when you said this place isn't that toxic... You can't make a post on here with even the slightest bit of positivity without six people telling you to "stfu fanboy" You can't disagree with anyone, or they'll assume you're their natural enemy (for example, tell a sniper main that snipers need a nerf and they'll call you a shotgun ape, even if in that same sentence you say shotguns need a nerf too) and treat you like garbage from then on You can't even IMPLY hunters are anything other than the worst class bungie has ever made, or else 36% of the playerbase will collapse on you telling you how wrong you are and how hunters are the weakest thing to ever walk the earth and how they need a million buffs. You can't suggest warlock isn't perfect in every way without 36% of the playerbase telling you warlocks are the strongest thing to ever walk the earth because top tree dawn exists, so clearly warlocks as a whole are bustedly OP and need a million nerfs, while another 33% will tell you they're fine because top tree dawn exists so clearly warlocks as a whole are in a good situation right now, another 20% agree with you but only with their preferred type of warlock, and 11% will tell you warlocks are perfectly okay as is, people just don't know how to use them but they do and everyone else is wrong. This community is more toxic than anything else I've ever seen, and this forum is made up of the worst of it plus the unlucky few good folks that have enough patience to put up with it. I've played league of legends. I've played overwatch. I've played dark souls and several cod games. But only here will you get hated into oblivion for even slight positivity. Only here will you be told to kill yourself after a match simply because of the gun you use (in cod, you get told to kill yourself because it's a joke at this point and those that say it seriously say it because you play like a scumbag, but here you get told to kill yourself genuinely every time, and it is almost ALWAYS over your weapon choice, even if you don't ever actually USE the weapon.). And only here will you find such a loathing for the company over such insignificant things as vendor gear and bright dust. These forums are filled with trash and I don't blame DMG for avoiding it.

    Instead of a charged explosion, how about making Nova Warp a raining super that shoots Mini Nova Bombs for the duration instead? Like D1 Shatter Nova Bombs but like 2 or 3 Times? And instead of Triple Small Novas at once, how about One little Nova up to 3 times? Or do like sentinel where if you tap the super button, you Traditional Shatter Bombs and if you hold the super button you get the modified Nova Warp with one shatter bomb at a time but up to 3 times and keep the movement? TLDR; Think Dawnblade but Mini Nova bombs during Nova Warp during the "HOLD" Super aspect and just give us Lance Nova as "TAP" Super.

  • I'd also like to see a slightly lower hhs charge time. I think it's in a pretty good spot on the whole, but with self damage and the auto holster after 1.5ish seconds of holding it I think it could use just a little love.

  • To be honest all it needs to be is one shot other supers and a movement speed buff when charging. PVE buffs of like 60% in damage. I like Aztecross's idea of making you pick up void orbs to charge it up for more damage.

    • Anyone else notice that nearing the end of Nova warp you can have the full charge animation completed and it will do the explosive release animation but no damage blast is released? In my opinion if I have used the energy to complete the charge animation then the blast should be released and not at the expense of additional super energy.

              • Warlock changes < Gave up moons ago asking for pvp changes on the warlock . Just quit and use a hunter in crucible like most people.

                    • Get rid of the double animation of charged attacks • 1 attack speed of 0.6 seconds (originally was 0.5) • Detonations OHK other Supers • On cast the Super detonates a blast • If holding a blast and you die, you still explode • Remove slowed movement while charging • Remove self damage of HHSN • Increase PvE damage as follows: * Minors +30% * Majors +60% * Mini-bosses +20% * Bosses +stagger effect (like it use to have) • Give it an exotic to extend it’s duration on multi-kills

                      Self damage on HHSN needs to go away and the charged up blast during the super needs to ohk all supers except for Bubble Titan. Also make Dark Matter stack properly (getting Dark Matter x4 will give you the EXACT same health and energy as Dark Matter x1) ^These are the NEEDED buffs, but for the WANTS: • Make teleportation cost way less or just remove teleport costs • decrease the time it needs to charge • increase movement speed in super • remove extended hit-box from blink/warp

                        My suggestions on fixing Novawarp : - Revert the charge time on big warp attack to how it was at the beginning of forsaken or remove charge time periode then convert the light attack into the heavy warp attack - increase resistance - increase movement speed - increase damage against other supers - Remove super energy cost for dark blink

                          It's a PVP super that doesn't feel that super. Needs a full rework imo. Hovering speed needs to be twice as fast Blink should still deplete super Kills should extend super Charge rate should be instant Increase the hight of and distance of the blast radius Add devour to subclass Come and get some spectral blade Hunters! 😜 [spoiler]one can dream😁[/spoiler]

                            Reduce the charge up time and increase the damage resistance. OR Improve the radius and damage. Also remove self damage from HHSN.

                              Just revert the original nerf, it should be a nightmare to face like it originally was in forsaken It’s called a “Super” for a reason ,but the fun police killed it, I have never seen Bungie completely gut something like they did to Nova Warp

                                Get rid of self kill on hand held super nova as well. The charge time is long enough and the hold time is short enough so it already has huge risk to pull it off. Self kill is one step too far.

                                      • Nova Warp is the only super I know of where you have to three peak just to plan your next detonation. It packs a whallop if done right but why the heck am I sneaking in my super in the first place? My biggest complaint is with Handheld Supernova and Atomic Breach. Handheld takes too long to charge, the damage is inconsistent and you can’t hold it at all. Atomic should be instantaneous.
