TLDR: solstice of heroes is meh; not the best but not the worst. work on objectives that fit all playstyles and gosh darn it let me change that ugly gold!
after four days of grinding, i finally got to tier 3 of the solstice armor set last night. this was my first solstice of heroes event, and obviously i ended up playing a lot of it. so is it really as bad as they say?
first, the armor itself. it looks pretty cool. my only complaint is that on the hunter set the ugly dull-gold trim on the cape of the cloak won’t change color no matter what shader you put on it. it even changes on the hood but not the cape? what? i hope this is a bug that gets fixed soon, buuuut something tells me it isn’t.
second, the objectives. i had no problem grinding out the sets, and for the most part it wasn’t frustrating. i did read on the forums where people were having trouble completing theirs cuz of adventures, so that’s definitely something bungie needs to look at.
everything went smoothly and was doable for me UNTIL i got to tier 3. ah yes... there it was. the infamous objective where you need 7 trials wins. ahahaha! no.
you couldn’t pay me to play trials. “git gud” me all you want, but i’m not doing it. i don’t want to! the other objectives are really not that bad, but trials? nope.
it’s things like that in destiny that i’ve noticed a lot of. it seems bungie has a problem with player choice. in a game where you can choose your character and their subclass, loadout, etc... there’s surprisingly little care for different playstyles. it looks like bungie expects every player to master all game modes and enjoy them all too.
some people are sweaty trials tryhards, some people are pve commoners, and some are both... but not everyone is. don’t punish people for playing the way they want. don’t lock people out of rewards because they don’t play that way. simple as that.
and since i won’t be doing trials, the magnificent set is what i’ll be staying with. fine with me. it’s the same set just without white glows. the perfect stopping place. now i gotta decide if i want to grind some more for 6000 bright dust, or pay real money for the glow ornament set.
both things i don’t really wanna do, but it’s either that or play trials! my bf is actually going to go for the final set... poor man. hope he doesn’t get put up against a full team of flawless guys or meets anyone toxic!
and last, honestly, last years solstice armor was the BEST. it looks so BEAUTIFUL. i wish i had that one instead, but alas... i didn’t play then. i’m so sad i don’t get to have that one. rip me :(
so is it good? bad? meh? i’d say the solstice of heroes event is.... meh. it’s no where near the best, but isn’t the worst they could’ve done. and at the end of the day... it’s just a game. trust me, nothing sucks more than seeing your favorite franchise not live up to your expectations, but we can’t control everything the game devs do. and they can’t please every single person.
i’m not quitting the game in rage, or blindly praising everything bungie does. i am simply saying “meh, maybe next year” and moving on. i got my armor set, and that’s good enough for me.
if you read all that and didn’t fall asleep... thank you!
remember to eat and drink some water sweaty trials players... take care of yourself!
1 RespuestaI miss the revamped story missions, EAZ is boring af.

Editado por ItsSwaggerHound: 8/18/2020 5:23:55 AMIve played every solstice event, got all the armor sets on all characters and I can easily say this solstice of heroes is by far the easiest to complete. (Which is good IMO)

1 RespuestaJust glad I don’t need all three for the triumph this year. Even with the progress boost, I only play one character. The whole ‘do everything thrice’ burnt me out on this game to almost permaquit.
-
It's literally the same thing. Why are you asking this?
-
Same as last year.. armor looks nice but once you can buy the glows .. really zero reason to push any further. Other than personal satisfaction.
-
Anyone notice.... we are in the season of Bounties yet no Bounty requirement for any of the Armor? Half expected to see " Complete 100 Bounties" or " Complete 10 Bounties from each Planet "........ actually a little disappointed, I have have spent months practicing and perfecting my Bounty Completeing skill.... and for what? ...... What a disappointment Bungie.

Meh I only grind for magnificent armor and moved on do Halo MCC do all legendary with my friends we have brilliant time gravemind drive me and my friend mad

Editado por Emurinus: 8/17/2020 6:42:20 AMIt's meh. As far as armor goes, the only major complaints about are Trials (some legit, some not legit reasons) and the glows being stupid expensive like they always have been. On the other hand, increased progress on other characters after completing one set is a step in the right direction. As far as the event, the copy-paste was extremely lazy. The EAZ is a great map if I'm being perfectly honest, but nothing really changed except chest locations being randomized (I think). Grandma Eva doesn't sell double XP bounties which is a shame; those were great and actually worth the grind when they were around. It's not horrible, but it's not good either. A step above mediocre if I'm being optimistic.

100% Meh.

2 RespuestasThe event itself was fine in 2019, quite a bit grindy but fine. It at least was 100% different from Solstice 2018 The copy paste for 2020 is lazy.

1 RespuestaIn D1, the best looking gear was rewarded by completing raid challenges. In D2, you need to grind for several days to get it without really doing anything special. I would like the gear, but don’t really want to make the time to grind for it, so I guess I’ll skip it. I guess it’s just personal preference. See you on Europa!
-
I say what ever you enjoy playing do it, as for friends and the family of ten gamers we are skipping it.
-
Pretty good so far although Im not sure if Im gonna be able to do: - Pit of Heresy - 7 Trials Wins - Master Nightfall Due to my friends be butts 😔 Im hoping they are still down to do the Moments of Triumph Raids... 😔
-
It’s ok, kinda disappointed with the fact that only two characters can get the glows if your only using bright dust but have zero to start with
-
I enjoyed it. Did my titan, did my warlock, bought the glows from Tess, all good 👍 Might do hunter if I CBA. Anyone crying over the whole trials thing for a white glow is a few sandwiches short of a picnic lol

For me it's somewhere between meh and bad. The EAZ is boring after you run it once, and the armour doesn't look cool enough to warrant grinding out old activities I don't like. The first Legendary set seems pointless. At first I was happy because I thought I'd only have to grind out two gear sets per character this year, but they decided to throw in a second Legendary set (that looks completely identical) for no reason other than to elongate the grind. The elemental empowerment mechanic is cool in theory but in actual gameplay it doesn't have a huge impact aside from making your super last twice as long. The grind is undeniably shorter than previous years, thanks in part to the 2x and 3x bonus progression, but I feel like that's just even more damning that the grind is way easier and I still can't bring myself to care. I kinda miss the Redux missions from Solstice 2018. They were actually pretty hard if you ran them solo and it was nice to revisit old campaign missions again.
-
A lot of players don’t like it because it’s a cut an paste of last years event. Bungie didn’t even fix requirements that were stated incorrectly. One thing better this year is if you want the glow, all you have to do is to complete the blue set to get the first legendary, then buy the glow from Eververse for silver or silver dust.
-
Agree to meh. Alone for the Reason they did copy&paste again. With that game you really need to learn to turn your expectations to the lowest level for not beeing disappointed.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/256922342?sort=0&page=0 Meh

1 RespuestaIf you dont like Trials thus is howxto easily obtain 7 easy wins The trick is not to rush to trials Your boots can wait Stealth in and get your wins on a bad reward weekend You will find patience will be your goal Right now Trials us full of wolves waiting fir lambs to the slaughter and will be for the next month Beyind that is when you get your boots glow once its calmed down

3 RespuestasMember the new hall we got during the first one? Member the revamped missions? Member baby servitors?

I like the area, like messing around but otherwise Meh....... A grind for nothing....
-
I started it and realised that my first character has progression x3 already, so it makes it much easier for me
-
Did not start the Event. Because is know i will feel meh again after a few hours.
-
Meh. I gave the solstice a try but felt little ambition to continue as the payoff is weak sauce. I just play to blow shit up every now and then, do the means to an end quest and that's it.
