Oh I fully understand but it is the power of dunk as well (Cayde: It's a Guardian thing, you wouldn't understand). For gameplay spacific purposes I understand why when Master-Worked it'll create an orb of light on a multi-kill but lore wise ..It's a weapon of the darkness, feeding on our light and that we don't even notice it, until the orb runs out of its own ammunition and steels our health. The darkness is essentially trying to groom us with Sword Logic. All under the pretence of ''It's just a gift guys haha''.
