Didn't think it was a problem until a run of CoS earlier today. One of my team mates went to melee the mini-Gahlran and the targeting took him straight through it to hit a Cursed Thrall

Yeah, melee hit registration is all over the place. Sometimes they allow you to hit things you shouldn't have been able to hit. Other times you can't even hit the enemy standing right in front of you. And then there are those times when they make you lunge at someone, make the audio cue to indicate that you hit them, and then do no damage at all. And this happens with melee supers too. I've seen strikers vaporize people even though their attack stopped right in front of them, but then they land a light attack on someone else and all it does is push them. I've seen spectral blades attacks kill people who were too far away from them to make any sense, but then I've watched as a spectral blades landed light attack after light attack on an enemy and didn't deal any damage. I've seen a few wonky melee hit registrations with arcstaff and sentinel. And all of these happen way too often to just be lag or bad connection.

100% agreed. The melee change for warlock was actually nice once I started to play titan a bit more. I realized that hunter and titan can melee and just completely miss an enemy in my face. Also steps need to be fixed. When I melee on steps my melee just goes right over their head and doesn’t do damage. Kinda make or break in crucible

I would really like the ability to disable my melee lunge. When I'm trying to use my melee to boost past enemies in PvE my -blam!-ing melee locks onto the enemy and I lunge towards them and die. Really -blam!-s me up when I try to solo a dungeon.

Destiny players: “melees suck in this game, they miss all the time!” Destiny players when they play another game: “why doesn’t my melee track 5 meters vertically and horizontally with near perfect hit detection?!”

ThatOneWarlock you make some valid points and I agree that ever verse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

What about getting meleed from players Who are nor even close to melee distance I.E player hitting the wall 10 feet below yourself and you get killed by it ?

Funny thing is they were able to fix spectral blades back when the hit registration was bad, if they can fix hit registration on spectral blades, they can easily fix hit registration on every melee in the game.

I remember playing comp last season and my friend used spectal blades and whenever he used it, he would get mad whenever he spammed the light attack (and heard the noise of the enemy being hit) but it wasn’t registering the hit on the other player

Stop blaming Bungie for these kind of issues! It's our own fault for not being in lan network in a single room not further than 2 feet from each other. Because this is how their self-praised p2p connection thingy was originally meant to be played...

You either lunge more than you should and it's in your favor or wiffs with no contact and you're -blam!-ed. I'd rather it be fix than lunge it in my favor at least if I miss I'll know it's my own fault.

Anything melee related needs it. Swords. Supers. Relics. Etc. This peer to peer is gonna kill the game and keep it from evolving.

Honestly. As a Hunter who doesn't run Arcstrider, the base melee feels so inconsistent. I feel like it always hits where the person WAS instead of where they ARE, and it's beyond slow.

I don’t care what they do to fix it, but it shouldn’t still be a problem for THIS long. It been this way for nearly two-three seasons now.
