Anyone else notice this? Forsaken added back random rolls, shadowkeep added back an old destination the moon and now Beyond light is going to have the cosmodrome and vault of glass.
I remember them saying they wanted to leave behind destiny 1 but clearly that wasn’t true because D1 was better and they know it but also I feel like they are running out of ideas if they have to rely on bringing back content in paid expansions.
Just my thoughts don’t be triggered.

21 RespuestasCan we please stop spreading the false narrative that they’re bringing back old content as paid content? All the D1 locations coming back are going to be part of the free game, as was the Moon. Everything you paid for in Shadowkeep was brand new content. I’ll criticize Bungo as much as the next guy, but jfc what a disingenuous argument.

2 RespuestasBecause d2 has been total shit from launch, we wanted d1 plus and we got the train wreck called d2 thats been in recovery mode almost the entire time
-
Good it needs to get back to what d1 was so many quit over how different d2 was form 1. Sucks but that's the reality and hopefully it can get back to that spot so they can finally make new stuff.
-
1 RespuestaThey seemed to have completely failed to learn from D1, especially when it came to taking notes about everything people loved about it by the end. Then they realized people generally seemed to like things about D1 more than D2 well after D2s release, and so they seem to have decided that rather than really build on that and really make a new game, they would just slowly turn it all back into D1 instead. They have failed to realize that people don't just simply want D1 back (well most don't seem to), they wanted Bungie to take what was learnt from D1 and build on it, but Bungie just seems to have missed that message somehow.

3 RespuestasWe are getting a new destination, new subclass and element, new enemy (enemies possibly) we've had so many more activities throughout d2 then d1 and all you can focus is on these things? Fools you all are.

3 RespuestasDoes this mean they are bringing back venus?

6 RespuestasWhat everyone is screaming for them to do only to start complaining about them actually doing it

16 RespuestasI think it really says something that you've perceived just under three years as four years. If time flies while you're having fun, time drags when you're having none.
-
15 RespuestasIt's been (almost) 3 years, not 4. I haven't played between October 2017 and June 2020 (shame on me), so the changes are pretty noticeable to me. And I definitely like that it became more like D1, because that game was my big videogame love.
-
12 RespuestasPeople asked for random rolls, so we got random rolls. People asked for the Moon back, so we got the moon back. People asked for VoG back, so we’re getting it back The same people bash those for recycled content I’m fine with it. I liked all of those

11 RespuestasI dont think so. So far a lot of people wanted D1 content back and everyone is realizing Bungie is turning this game into a permanent thing so we dont have to restart. So why not bring back D1 content for newer players to enjoy?
-
2 RespuestasIf that's true then what were the first 4 years of D1? Lol...
-
Listen I’m not complaining I’m just stating a point which has become clear to me that vanilla Destiny 2 was not a good game at all and all the DLC’s that’s have been released have just made this game more and more like Destiny 1 (which isn’t a bad thing). From adding back random rolls to the ‘new’ subclass customisation options coming with the -blam!- subclass. Point is Destiny 1 had all of this already and it’s taken bungie this long just to catch up to what destiny 1 already had. Destiny 2 has its own cool features the only two I could name is mantle and not having to orbit to go to a new destination. Other than that I don’t really know.

2 RespuestasDestiny 2 had been out for not even 3 years yet
-
4 RespuestasThey're definitely bringing the bad stuff from d1 instead of the good stuff -Swagnuts

1 RespuestaExeltix you make some valid points and I agree that ever verse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

3 RespuestasI feel like it was most likely activision pushing bungie to make a sequel when they probably wanted to keep adding to and evolving destiny. I could be wrong but either way it’s where the game is now. I don’t like the fact that the game has so many reskins and reused assets but at the same time I would prefer if it were all just one game, so I don’t mind that they’re bringing back the cosmodrome and vault of glass and I get why that means they need to vault other destinations. I do find it a bit crazy though how much D2 has changed since it launched because just about every update to core mechanics of the game have been to make it more like D1. I’m honestly pretty conflicted because vault of glass has always been my favorite raid (I don’t even raid anymore in D2) but I also want more new content which I know is also coming but how much of it will just be same ol same ol as far as enemies and bounty grinds. I just wish bungie had a better more consistent vision for the game.
-
Half-assed D1 you mean? It feels nothing like d1. It's trying to imitate it. Yes
-
I’m glad it is becoming like D1 and I hope they bring back all the cool weapons!!!
-
I stopped playing D2 just because I was frustrated that it was re releasing D1 content. That’s been Bungie’s mantra for the last 4 years.
-
6 RespuestasYes. It’s literally a repeat of D1. Release a watered down version of what we expected. Release 2 terrible DLCs of things cut from the main game. Release one big DLC that fixes a lot of the issues and brings the game back on track. The only thing that’s different is they added onto the big DLC to make it better up until the next game, which back then was D2. Right now they seem stuck in limbo and boredom.

9 RespuestasBringing back the old skill trees eventually too!

Remastered, revised, touched up..... all these are a common thing in the gaming world. Not exclusive to bungie or destiny. You're mixing up free content(normally the revised stuff in destiny) with the paid content. Personally it brings nostalgia when I see stuff come back, especially when it's the free part. What I'm not cool with at all is, having two gawning hungers in my bank one will be useless in 95days. Same weapon and all.. Along with armor sunsetting too, makes adding in 2.0 update kinda pointless to me.
-
They're failing to turn D2 into D1.

The things that have been reverting back are normally things they shouldn’t have changed in the first place, there’s still so many things that we don’t have from d1 but d2 does have a lot of improvements in general over d1. It’s mainly content style that we need back.
