Their favorite Streamers are no where near a power level of 1060, let alone 1020. They've all been playing and streaming other games because this season has been so lackluster it's been hurting Destiny 2's Twitch Directory.
"Grandmaster should be watchable." This is the only reason Grandmaster Nightfall exists, to give people something to watch on Twitch during the weekdays while Trials is something to watch during the weekend. It is now apparent that this season was tailor made specifically for their streamer crowd.
Now, we've already watched cheaters and hackers in Trials during the weekend, are we all ready to watch cheaters and hackers in Grandmaster Nightfall with rapid fire and unlimited ammo Heavy and unlimited respawns during the weekdays too? If there is a leaderboard, like how we had a Nightfall scoring one back in the day, be prepared to name and shame unfamiliar names ranking much higher than any other familiar names. But if there is no leaderboard, be prepared to see those cheaters and hackers doing paid carries through the Grandmaster Nightfalls to sell people titles.
What a worthy season this has been.

You just said that they lowered the requirement for the grandmaster difficulty. That benefits everyone wanting to do it. they wanted destiny to be watchable. I think that they wanted destiny to be watchable since trials of Osiris D1. How cool would it have been if it became part of the eSport genre? Players attitudes and apathy feed into how successful something can be. You can record your grandmaster difficulty nightfall with your fire team. If there's something you want to show specifically such as how difficult it really is or what needs tweaking then you can use the media as a tool to forward your points. I don't see an issue that it should be watchable. I think every game should be watchable. People are playing it and that's cool. You can play it and show it at the same time. We do it for sports, board games, cooking, the news, literally anything can go on media. Since it's video games all of a sudden its taboo? Truly, what is your point?
