Bungie definitely wants the game to die and for everyone to abandon it. No idea why because less money, but I heard they are most likely doing this to push people on to a new game they are developing with another studio. So my thoughts are this new game comes out and most Destiny players and fans go buy it because they miss how fun D2 was, at this time it will in a state beyond repair and just awful to play. This new game will be littered with microtransactions and everything is locked behind paywalls and Bungie will blame it on the other studio and just say get over it. Kind of like how they said Activision was too greedy and pushed for microtransactions right before they broke up, then became super greedy and focus 80% of the season of microtransactions
