Maybe, maybe not. That's my point.

  • Well, most people play looters for loot, if you don't fair enough, but this is what they need to do. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a solution to a problem they created, but they need to do something to incentive players. You know the seasonal activities get less play than the raids right?

  • Again, create new loot. Some people will chase it, hell most people will but leave the old weapons alone for the folks who wish to continue to use them for all of the activities that they want to play. That seems simple enough.

  • They can't keep making more powerful weapons, that leads to power creep and we're already at godly power levels compared to the content.

  • What has released that has been more powerful to make this power creep fear a thing? Maybe an argument for crucible pinnacles/rituals can be made, but that’s basically been it. They have been mostly re-releasing guns from earlier seasons with random stat rolls. That’s it. They are the same weapons from vanilla, that just so happen to now fit in the random roll sandbox. So I don’t see this power creep argument players and Bungie are trying to use as a “reason” to shelve guns power levels. And not allowing them to move forward doesn’t really do anything for freeing up room, as the guns will still exist, they just won’t be usable for higher light content.

We can steamroller everything in the game with the current weapons. You think we need to get even more powerful? It's not about making room either, I don't know why you would even think that?

We aren’t getting more powerful. We are just replacing one year 1 roll with a random rolled year 1 weapon that was re released, for the most part. So what reason is there then? Leave a weapon behind to re-release it again and say it’s new. Really sit down and actually think about it. I mean locking a year one static rolled last perdition for a year 2/3 version of the same weapon with a random roll. Is the later version better? Sure, but it’s only because you can farm perks for it. Otherwise it’s the exact same fn gun just re-released. It is identical to itself.

Every boss? To the point people can solo raid bosses, not to mention anything outside of a raid dies in about 10 seconds. I honestly don't know how you can't see that, this is why there's been so many nerfs. You're right that they will probably end up being the same guns with different skins, but if you can't use your old ones you're gonna need to play the game to get new ones and that's what they want. They really don't care if you love your spare rations, despite making out they do, if it's keeping you from farming a new hand cannon it's stopping you from engaging with the new content as much.

  •
Every boss? To the point people can solo raid bosses, not to mention anything outside of a raid dies in about 10 seconds. I honestly don't know how you can't see that, this is why there's been so many nerfs.
People have been solo running raid bosses since D1. That’s only an issue because raid bosses are literally formulaic, and it’s not everyone that can do it. So something that the 1% can do is something that the remaining 99% cannot. So we balance according to the 1%’s abilities right? Wrong. Everything not considered endgame has been a joke since D1. It’s how they design the content period. Has nothing to do with power creep that you are claiming is a big deal. Strikes are jokes, and always will be, especially with their formulaic and boring approach. Why would you want to stay in them longer than necessary for no real rewards worth mentioning? What else are you going to use? Gambit? Gambit was a very poorly designed concept, as was gambit prime. Story missions? I mean what really are you complaining about? You are claiming powercreep in non-endgame activities that are literally throw away content with no real meaning behind them.
You're right that they will probably end up being the same guns with different skins, but if you can't use your old ones you're gonna need to play the game to get new ones and that's what they want. So forcing choice out of my hand is bs.
i have an excellent spare rations roll sitting in my vault. I don’t use it. Why? Because I don’t like how it feels. We all have personal choices that is our preference, which will be limited severely when roll retirement becomes a thing.
• I fully agree its a design flaw, but these things aren't as easily fixed as locking the infusion point if weapons.
