Subbed or Dubbed Anime??
So before you say anything, no this is not a post about which is better. Honestly I could go either way and both are good in their respective terms, but I just wanted to ask which anime should be watched in subbed, and which anime should be watched in dubbed.
Concerning both versions are pretty different in certain terms, some anime is better dubbed, some is better subbed, and others can go either or. But I just recently got into anime and finished my 4th anime series, but they were all the dubbed versions, and I kinda want to give some subbed versions a try but I don't even know which ones to start with.
EDIT: Clearly almost none of you read the text and only the title, some of it is my own fault but please actually read what I'm trying to ask before putting down some comment.
I'm trying to ask which anime shows are good to watch in either form, like recommendations and the such.

4 Respuestassome of the best dubs are Full metal alchemist (original and brotherhood) one of the worst dubbed that i have seen, or maybe i should say heard, is Attack on titan. the voices dont have the correct tone and no one really sounds engaged. One [i]very[/i] good dub is jojo's bizarre adventure. I'm not that big of a fan of the show but i watched some with my friends and they watched it dubbed. The dubbed has a lot of the same tone and they replace jokes that wouldn't make sense in English with jokes that DO make sense in English and carry a similar meaning. [spoiler]you look cute today[/spoiler]

Full metal alchemist Death note However, there are certain subs in which I find to be better then the sub. Yuyuhakusho Dragon ball z Cowboy bebop That being said, I will usually lean far more heavily towards sub and frequently find the voice acting to be far superior except for those mentioned above.

9 RespuestasI run almost exclusively subbed. I have noticed that they typically dumb it down in the dubbed versions, not always, but a lot of the time. Also, I want to hear what the author intended. We put our inflections in different areas. Then there is the obviously female character that gets a male American voice or vice versa...... It takes a lot of practice to be able to read the subs & catch all the action & I am glad I hit that level years ago. It is worth the effort to get good at it, because I find the anime to be more rewarding as a show that way. On a personal note, please do not turn into one of those wierd fans who has his waifu on a body pillow. That character is made of ink. Also, even if she is 900 years old, the 12 year old look is creepy!!!!!!!!!

5 RespuestasIf the voice acting is good, I prefer to not have to read what I’m watching. That being said, it feels like almost every time I watch something dubbed they have, like, the same 3 voice actors. Gets annoying. So, probably subbed overall. I don’t really watch a lot of anime, though.

1 RespuestaThe only anime I watched subbed over dubbed are anime with memes that you can only hear in japanese (JoJo, Fist of the North Star), anime that I started subbed because there was no dub for the previous anime (Mazinger Z and Mazinkaiser), or anime who's dub changes the story (Too many). Dubs aren't as ridiculously bad as everyone says they are, especially modern ones.

1 RespuestaDepends on the show. Demon slayer only watch it subbed. My hero academia goes wother way, it has a pretty good dub. Same with evangelion, full metal alchemist, soul eater.. Attack on Titan dub all the way, solely for Erwins speach in season 3

1 RespuestaDepends, I’ll take subs over bad dubs but if it’s done well then dubbed. I think I prefer subs overall tho you can start to pick up on the language after a while 😁 Everyone needs to know how to say deathgod in Japanese right? 🙄

3 RespuestasI did read your whole post, but somehow missed that you were asking for recommendations. Flip Flappers is a good one. Fun & lighthearted, without too much fanservice, and a really good story underneath. Subbed, for sure. I remember No. 6 being good, though it’s been a while. Subbed. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood has the potential to be my new favorite show as long as its ending isn’t stupid. Really good mystery, and a great magic system. Dubbed. Shiki. Vampires! Like, good vampires, not stupid ones like Twilight or Vampire Knight. It’s probably my favorite vampire story out there. Dubbed.

I'd recommend Black Butler for a series with especially good acting all around. The English and Japanese voice actors both capture every character perfectly - it's actually incredible how little of their edge was lost in translation. Part of that is because they just sound so similar - I'd believe the Japanese cast was bilingual if I didn't know better. All the voices are iconic, and they are iconic in either language.
