Wow: That one word sums it all up. This is laughably bad. One time? Ok, we’ll play along. The exact same problem and the exact same garbage solution twice? I’m in favor of the votes I see flying around the Internet that we just call Tuesdays the Weekly Rollback, and everyone plan to stay off Destiny while you continue to embarrass yourselves every Tuesday you start a dumpster fire.
I’m not willing to jump into the “Hey guys, support the developers, they work hard and this is hard work” camp anymore. Destiny has been around for five and a half years with regular patches, updates, and the deployment of new content and has never undergone the kind of clown show that’s now happened twice in less than a month. At the moment I’d be happy to say: “Fine, stop developing and let the game just exist as what it is. We’d all be able to play.”
I don’t care about not being able to play for one day, but I am astounded at the fact that they recreated the exact same problem that was totally unprecedented in the history of the franchise and are now performing another totally unprecedented “fix,” which is basically just hitting reset again at everyone’s expense. If mulligans are the new normal, then Tuesdays should just be a down day they can actually sort out whatever they’re getting wrong rather than jerking everyone along like this.
You guys online saying you’re developers and stuff like this is just part of the process: Stop. NPC’s not loading with a face or floating is a glitch. Enemies spawning on your character’s head is a glitch. Loot caves were a glitch. Dying for no reason when you tried to approach the grave in the corridors of time was a glitch. This nonsense that’s going on is the kind of crap that happens to people who over mod RPG games and suddenly find everything has stopped working.
Bungie: Either you’ve either become really careless and stretched far too thin for the due diligence this game actually demands, your priorities really have nothing to do with what you claim they are to your playerbase, or you have built codes and programming that has grown so complex you don’t actually understand what’s really going on and have no real proactive control over any of it anymore.
If the weekly update this Thursday is another paragraph with no actual transparency, another stupid joke, and a few sentences patting yourselves on the back again to try and avoid actually facing your customers, as well as continuing to ignore that your rollback shafts a huge number of players who now lose even more gear and even more progress, then my last shred of good will and any respect for your company is truly gone. I’m already willing to go as far as to say you are definitely not worthy of the legacy the name Bungie was built on. It’s unfathomable that this is the same company that helped revolutionize modern console gaming. By all means though, keep playing wizard of Oz with us and try to make us look away from the man behind the curtain and assume we’ll just keep going along with this time after time. That’s a PR plan that will surely play out in your favor when you want us all to spend more money with you in the future.
So I think I will add this here as of 2/12, particularly since Cozmo responded to this thread, Sincerely Cozmo, thank you for taking the time and giving the info you did.
I have no idea if you'll see this addition at this point, nor do I have any clue if anyone associated with Bungie will. I realize how harshly worded my post was. In light of the fact that it got the attention it has, what I would actually hope is communicated, if anything, is this: The bug itself wasn't really what has upset the player base. It's the gear and progress that's lost as a side effect of the fix. In a looter that has as much grinding as Destiny does, as well as random drops being such a big deal, that takes the wind out of the sails of a lot of people.
My final word: I'm banned from commenting on the thread. You ought to just go the real distance and ban me from the forum altogether. Cheers!
I'll add one more thing since people are asking: I dont really know why I was banned from commenting. I got a notification earlier today saying I had received a warning for violating the coc in regards to personal attacks, harassment, and invasion of privacy. This referemced "ninja justice" deleting a comment someone else had made to me in which they said I seemed like someone who would shoot up a school and that I had the aura of an incel, and my response in which I said I thought that was pretty sick (disgusting). I didn't receive any info as to how I had violated the coc. The first couple comments me and this guy were sparring back and forth are still here I think.

I played since 7am EST and after reset did all my Crimson Bounties GOT the God Roll Minbender in my first two man nightfall, and what does Bungie do? Shut down the servers for emergency maintenance (not that unexpected after they have had countless issues since Forsaken on a weekly basis) but then I get back on and every little thing I did, from grinding materials, the obelisk, the crimson day bounties and matches I completed were rolled back, the work I did since I had awoke were rolled back and it’s made it to the point of, what’s the use of playing? Why should we players have to be subjected to this kind of poor workmanship from the company that has literally (watch a Vidoc) told us that this game is no longer for the casuals and it’s now “you had to be there” well now that we are all rushing to be there, you’re penalizing us by resetting all our work, why would we ever WANT to be there? This whole Twitter praising to a bunch of developers and programmers that can’t keep their game maintained after a year of losing what was RELIGIOUSLY told to us from Bungie is that everything was Activisions fault, that this is now a BETTER Bungie that they weren’t “slave driven” behind their screens. The poor “crunch” that left workers without time with their family. Do you think that the complete $(censor) show that is Destiny NOW would be in this state if Activision was still looking over their shoulders? I don’t think slaving someone and removing their family for a game is right but neither is investing people’s time and effort to toss it away because YOUR company can’t hire people with the proper qualifications. This is getting ridiculous. Weekly problems on as large of a scale as this has been, once again for over a year there’s been something, so how about we get rid of the stupid seasonal pass, the dumb artifact, and let’s make Destiny great again. Get someone to really look over everything and realize that you’ve put so much extra bs everywhere and if you streamlined those game you’d probably be at only around 80GB. If that. Imagine what it would be like if Bungie actually did the right things for this game. Destiny COULD be great, Bungie just doesn’t want to put in the effort, they just want quick cash Which is EXACTLY their business practice which is why I’m so happy Halo was given to a company that learned to appreciate and dive deeper into their game. Bungies lazy workmanship is the downfall.

6 RespuestasEditado por The 7th fall: 2/12/2020 2:25:25 AMWow... just... wow. Honestly this is Fallout76 levels of stupidity. Someone(s) has to be fired and replaced because repeating the same game breaking mistake in less than a month's time shows just how bad the programmers and coders are. "We're working with bad tech", "Making content is hard", "We just got away from Activision", "They need money from Eververse to develop better content" -F*** OFF!!! If this is what comes of going independent then either admit defeat, turn off Destiny servers and do an overhaul of Destiny like No Man's Sky or compensate people by giving out free silver packages for their wasted time.

10 RespuestasI cannot even begin to express how much fun the group of you are who just try and shred me (and anyone who posts in the forums) for posts like the one I threw up. The moral superiority, the inability to tolerate an opinion you don't like, the assumptions about my age and generation, insults, condescenion, the rage... LOL Let's get you guys all on one thread together: The laughs are just too great to have spread out across 500 comments.

Next update will take away the game and introduce Eververse Destiny: log in to buy emotes, ships, and shaders.....and that's it...

Many mindless sheep call Bungie "their Dad." If that's the case, Activision was their Mom and divorces are messy. What we witnessing is a greedy Bungie without an Activision crutch. The constant re-purposing and re-programming of old content on an outdated engine, solely for cost saving profit, has results in this shet show. 700 + employees on ONE franchise shouldn't result in this mess, but when your focus shifts from making good games to just making money well there you have it.
-
Stop playing this game. Stop giving Bungie your money.

260 RespuestasHere is the detailed response on what went wrong today and what we are doing to prevent it from happening again. https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/48723 Sorry for the frustration and inconvenience caused by these issues. We will continue to work to prevent these kinds of things from happening again.

1 RespuestaSo Spawn was it you who banned the man for speaking freely? Or any other mod for that matter, whichever one of you did it, need to self service by rule's and ban yourself for the mandatory time of breaking the forum rule's. In what precident he made to break the rule's, none, he stated his feeling freely with no rule breaking words or phrases, nor bad intent. Bungie need's to step up and stop screwing around, roll back's never should happen twice, especially with a game that is supposed to be as great as people claimed it to be, even Bungie themselves.
-
Well put my friend your post is 100% all in all Destiny 2 is BROKEN it is beyond repair , Bungie are irresponsible.
-
We need roll back 3-4 years

11 RespuestasBanned from commenting? Banned from using your freedom of speech? That sir is straight up oppression. Showing their true colours again. Someone finally articulates what we're all thinking and along comes the oppressive ban hammer. Not cool.

6 RespuestasSo; for the second time in two weeks Bungie fails miserably. Worse, to avoid the cacophony of irate customers, they shut down the help forum. Kind of a cowardly action don’t you think? In most industries, any person or department, that caused thousands of customers to NOT be able to access what they paid for (for several hours) would be looking for a new job. Especially if it happened twice in a short period like this. Some of you will say, “chill, it’s just a game”. Nope. It’s a service that we pay for, which makes it more than just a game. It’s a financial bargain; I pay you $, you give me access to this. That’s how the grown-up world works. I know Bungie is dancing as fast as they can to remedy this situation, but saying “oops, we’re really sorry” only works once. We expect occasional interruptions due to maintenance. We don’t expect major down time due to the lack of QA or testing, and we REALLY don’t expect the same glitch twice in two weeks. Maybe you should stop trying to maximize profit by integrating with Stadia, Steam & Twitch and concentrate a bit more on keeping your game functional. “The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.”
-
Well I think it's good that Bungie gave an official apology to the users, as that didn't happen with the last roll back. I don't expect compensation, but I was a little shocked that there was no apology after the last roll back. So it's very nice to see an apology this time around, although honestly I think the Bungie twitter account could have also stated a simple, sorry for the inconvenience, since there are far more eyes on that.
-
5 RespuestasActually Bungie lost me at approximately 1 hour after last week's rest, when I had been standing at the obelisk donating Fractaline for 20 minutes. That's when I realised this game's become a bit of a joke. Then this patch hot mess happened again, which just made me chuckle because I've been playing Borderlands 3 since last Tuesday :) Thanks for the good times. It had a good run, but I think this game's done.

Could be a 3rd inbound today 😣

2 RespuestasCurious, what was the reason for the ban from commenting?
-
5 RespuestasThis post is starting it's slide down the forum lists, bungle must be getting ready to post something 🙃

Yeah, this game sucks.
-
Bungie need to start giving away free Silver for every time they do this.

1 RespuestaBeen saying this for a while now, it’s becoming a technical mess. According to the bungie faithful it’s our hardware or internet or region or weather or <insert excuse here> I can forgive some bugs in games, that’s reality, but when it’s consistently bad like it is with bungie I have zero tolerance. Not logged in for a while, can’t be doing with the real time flying to the tower, this was in D1 and now it’s in D2, you would think after two games and all the development time lessons would be learned.
-
I honestly wish I could recommend this game to some family members to take them through things like the LW Raid and the Levi Raids and maybe a few Nightfalls but I cant. Simply because Its to much work getting up to light level and its not fun anymore. i haven't played all season and I think Im on the verge of putting this game down for good. Its not worth the investment of time and Bungie is no longer the developer we all knew and loved
