It’s not the activities it’s the rewards.

90% of the loot pool is trash. And the pinnacle activities don’t have the good stuff. Why would anyone do a legendary sundial more than once? What’s the point of 980 activities other than difficulty? Why is 99% of the raid loot useless? Why is master working armor a completely useless thing now? What’s the point of comp if all the pinnacle weapons are nerfed? Why are all the armor rolls basically garbage from every activity? What’s even the point of the artifact? Why are we forced to grind bounties in old content? Why do streamers on PC’s talking about “power creep” dictate what’s fun for consoles? Why are the new exotics spoon fed to us? Why aren’t the new exotics a surprise or good? Why was that giant cool puzzle with the completely underwhelming reward even implemented? You had to know what our response was gonna be. The puzzle was a surprise and so was the disappointment of a lackluster reward we were already gonna get and is meh at best. Squandered opportunity. The only reason this game made it past the Osiris DLC is because you made us powerful again and gave us sleeper, whisper, and an actual power fantasy. This game has taken a turn for the worse. The seasonal model does not work. Fix the game, cause it’s bad again. I’ve circled back to get old seals because there is no reason to do any of the new activities other than seasonal seals and frankly the seasonal activities aren’t fun enough, and a pin IRL is not enough incentive for me to bang my head against boring content and “crunch” to get triumphs done in a limited time frame. Devs don’t like crunch and neither do gamers. Stop fixing things that weren’t broken. We are back to year 1 idiocy.

  • I still haven't bothered finishing Pit of Heresy, the only reward i could really see was the opportunity to buy an overpriced Hive Sword replica. If it had a cool looking exclusive armour set i'd probably go for it but i see no point otherwise

    • I honestly feel like you are not correct per the complaint. Destiny 1 was about balance. There were many good options due to random rolls as long you put the time in with your build and the grind for the perfect synergy per weapons. Be it exotics or legendary weapons. Once bungie introduced the iron lords dlc in year 3 of d1, I knew this game was screwed. Bungie started creating their own metas to sell dlc. They began trying to nerf things to change gameplay. Fast forward to d2.. and their approach was to use better metas to sell dlc... instead of making a better game. The “loot” needs to be competitive, not the meta. The “loot” needs to look awesome. Both weapons and armor. < this entices your casual base to chase said objects more than a weapon being op. *ie Luna/NF effect on pvp and thinning playerbase at the time vs getting the trials gear/ornaments in d1 and a huge player pool. As far as raids and their loot, you are correct. The tryhard mechanics vs the loot is not worthwhile to master. Power creep is exactly what is wrong with the game. Console or pc. See, the core of the game should be about counters and not “ttk” or dps while bungie balances any outliers that surpass the average ttk/dps. Take your base release.. we do the story, we get our exotics/weapons that sets the tone... Then with each new addition, said threat should be designed to counter what we have earned and mastered... by beating said content, we gain those counters... so on so forth. ^ this trickles into pvp.. and what you would then have is a pvp full of counters and high skill separating factors. The smarter player wins. Any player could have their “wow” moments and thus filling up the player pool, but the higher skilled players stay happy. In return, sbmm would be less of a concern and everyone is having fun with their unique path chosen with their chosen class and counter builds. That is exactly how d1 was born.. but now we have this power creep meta chasing game where the choices are shallow or you just become a thrall running around in pvp... with a shallow meta. You then have a player base that will always be frustrated because you HAVE to better ALL the time.

      • They need to revamp under preforming exotics ( weapons and armor) They need to allow seasonal mods on exotics. They need to do a lot of things they aren't going to do. This is the game and will continue to be the game. They have Destiny 2 on cruise control until there next big release which will be on next gen consoles

Why is the sky blue? we could get really meta physical about it but ithink the simple answer is cuz thats what we call it. the dev definately are suffering from a god complex and keep thinking up things like a platypus. why did we need these guns that break rules and need to be fixed every other week. why do we have an artifact that quite literaly has broken more legacy gear than the value it has brought to players, i guess you could say its a way of sandboxing mods for future implimintaion, but as they break a ton of things and last for 3 months is that really the best idea? why when redoing armor 2.0 did they continue to create new bases not just new orniments? this boggles me as its supposed to be the build your own armor model.... well unlock the special mods for raids so we can apply them at will and make all future armor "types" as orniments to be picked up from open world locaitions and i think it would be better executed. it would make master working gear acutually have a point. bungie says armor over 60 stats rando drops but the rate is so low im encouraged to use the seasonal armor thats spoon fed to me, while thats very nice in a participation trophy kinda way, its not helpful since the raid mods cant be applied to it so my 4th slot is forever empty. Not every new exotic gun is going to be a bespoke piece that every play wants or can use, not every map addition or activity will be something everyone will want to play but why are devs dreaming up new ideas that break more things than they add? if the game is suffering from being to large why make more maps? why not expand on ones that exist already, leviathan is huge, the menagerie can be expanded on, the acendant plane like the infinate forest is customizable to a million degrees to fit a new activity. we have d1 designs for guns/maps use them, if d1 needs to go offline well why not port it over as a sundial based activity line (fingers crossed someone is working on that idea). I reallize my 200 bucks only pays for a few hours of 1 devs time over the last 4 years but this is a 2 minute read... we are owed that much. stop making loot that breaks my favorite looter shooter, its the reason to keep playing. if you think the loot isnt the goal id suggest you reevaluate the player base at the launch the first DLC, because i like many others werent a round anymore because the loot sucked.

        • Its both. There entirely too many modes. And many of the seasonal activity experiences are fully realized after a single run. They lack enough fun or depth to continue doing after I get each reward.

              • I farmed the sundial until I got a sustenance swashbuckler stealfeather, which works awesome with war rig (which also reloads heavy machine gun like xenophage). I also farmed for a triple tap vorpal trophy hunter which from the special ammo slot with a boss spec mod does close to the same amount of damage as the whisper does from the heavy slot. The lack of activities has allowed me time to farm those two weapons as well as work on enhancement core bounties for prisms and shards.

                • I've always said that Destiny 2 never suffered from lack of content in any stage of its life. It suffers from having too much content and little reason to partake in most of it. A plethora of randomly rolled gear will always have the same problem that majority of the Y1 static rolls will have: only a few weapons get access to the good perks. Therefore, the activities to grind become clear cut and the activities with subpar weaponry pools just die out. The Pinnacles/Rituals grinds have killed the weapon grind. Exotics are rendered second rate due to Seasonal Content/Ordeal Champions. Easier to obtain Legendaries evenly match or outright outperform raid Legendaries. The only draw to raids is the potential of getting a super cool RNG Exotic. That is, if you don't mind potentially wasting time on 20+ runs. My interest in Destiny has fallen so far. I merely play for Bright Dust, Season Pass ranks, and the drip feed story content. I have all the best weapons already so why bother getting the new stuff?

                • I just want to point out how misguided the pinnacle grind is. The weapons are not pinnacle the armor isn't pinnacle You're not chasing gear, you're chasing numbers. You're not chasing a rocket launcher from Pit of Heresy for the Rocket Launcher, you're chasing a number higher than your current one in the heavy slot. The loot feels empty because it often is. I have to wonder how many people are actually in it for the loot, rather than infusion fodder for weapons and armor they actually like to use.

                  • Debatable.. strikes in D2 are -blam!-ing boring. Even with strike loot I probably wouldn't play them. PvP has been a mess since Destiny came to be, and we don't talk about gambit. No amount of loot could make these game modes better.

                  • Doing the same 4 strikes, same 2 PvP and Gambit maps, that's boring AF and has nothing to do with the loot at the end of the activity.

                  • D2 has just become too much busy work and not enough/good rewards. Look at corridors that took a week of community effort and all we got was early access to an exotic we were already getting, and you didn't even have to in put the code to get it.

                    • Loot incentive is shit... I understand them wanting to give all control over 100% of our gear and how we set it up but there has to be some RNG and farming in a LOOTER shooter. With 100% control of our armor it kills the loot incentive.

They should seriously look at D1, they got this "looter shooter" genre and everything else better than D2. Raid weapons used to be treasured for their truly unique perks, and solid rolls.

                      • There's no reward worth being excited for, as most gear are nerfed to the ground soon after they're introduced into the game. Nowadays, exotics are nerfed BEFORE they even hit the ground! What an amazing exotic bastion is! How wonderful is Tarrabah (terrible)! Ultimately, there's nothing to look forward to as all your efforts end up being peed on.
