The darkness chooses to give them powers in return for being worshipped but we don’t know if the light would work the same way, the traveler would have to be aware of it and then choose to let them have some light which I’m guessing it wouldn’t as the vex in general are an enemy of the last city
English
-
Plus they can tap into saint-14s light
-
The vex cannot wield the light
-
Based on? They could potentially harness it
-
The vex can’t wield the light because the vex aren’t individuals. They are a hive mind. The traveler would have to choose for the vex minds to be worthy for the vex to use the light.
-
Also it seems Leia there is a lot of evidence to suggest that vex minds work as semi individuals seeing as they are a part of the hive mind but have far more advanced capabilities that the vex lose access to when they die, plus they can cut themselves off from the hive so it’s possible a vex kind could be given the light
-
Vex can only be given the light if they are found worthy. And the traveler hasn’t directly given anyone the light, it’s just been done through the ghosts since the traveler went down. So no a vex won’t be given the light. A ghost would have to find a dead vex mind (if they can even revive that is a while other discussion) then revive it. Not going to happen.
-
I just realized they also have assimilated kabr giving them further access to the light
-
Except kabr died and was fully converted, and lost his connection to the light after cracking the vex network
-
Him being fully converted likely with some light remaining means they have access to his power
-
No it doesn’t. Asher was also partially converted and it cost him his connection to the light. Especially after his ghost was converted
-
Find me that and I’ll concede your point
-
Asher Mir loathes patrol duty. Zavala thinks about respect, so Zavala thinks it's because of the recruits who swarmed Echo Mesa in the wake of the Red War. They jeer at Asher over the radio and meet his impatient condescension with brash challenges: Come say that to my face. But Zavala is wrong. Cayde thinks about his free time, so Cayde thinks it's because Asher has better things to do. Why support a supply chain when you're dying of Vex flu? Sure, sure, it's not really flu; that's not the point. The guy's dying! But Cayde is wrong. Ikora used to be wrong, too, but now Ikora thinks about death. She knows Asher has not died since he was transformed. She knows what it is to sit paralyzed beside a radio, full of jealous fear, listening to a battle that you cannot join. They could bring him every jumpship in the system, she thinks, and he'd never leave the Rupture. This is from the lore of the Asher mir ship
-
Nowhere does it say he lost his light it just seems to me that he is suffering from ptsd
-
If he had ptsd he wouldn’t be listening into the battle. The fact that it’s ikora talking about death, then about how Asher hasn’t died and will no longer rejoin a battle after his accident, it’s very clear that Asher has lost his light after the conversion of part of himself and his ghost
-
<Asher has his Light, so does his Ghost. However, since both are infected, he refuses to go out under the fear of dying and not knowing what being resurrected means for him or his Ghost. Kabr had no Light upon full conversion. He sacrificed his Light into making the Aegis before the Vex could fully control him/them/him. But alas, now he is them and they are he. It is how assimilation works.>
-
Though that does make sense and is probably true, kabr stil has his light when almost fully consumer
-
I can see how you would get that conclusion but even if that is true kabr while Far more corrupted by the vex than Asher mir has ever been still had his light, so it seems likely that he still retains it
-
Losing your ghost most definitely does not equal losing your light
-
I have seen nothing that states that Asher mir lost his light can you tell me where it says that
-
Nothing says he lost his light, he put an unknown amount of his light in the aegis
-
You are ignoring alternative ways to get the light beside the traveler
-
No they can still get light, it is simply a source of power you do not need to have it granted by the traveler, there are other ways to obtain the light, for example the awoken have the light despite it not being gifted
-
As ghaul proves the light is simply an energy you don’t have to get it from the traveler and you don’t have to be chosen
-
Ghaul used a machine to steal the light and put it directly into him through a very painful process. He then was instantly wiped by the traveler. Also ghaul is an individual a vex is not.
-
But the light is an energy scourge not only usable by us, the traveler is one way to get the light but it is not the only way, the leviathan has light, so is the gift mast, etc...
