It was an exotic perk in D1 for a reason, it breaks fusion rifles and there's no real penalty for using it.
Any fusion rifle with backup plan basically becomes a shotgun with easily twice the effective range and you don't have to even aim properly to kill.
This perk should be removed from non exotic fusion rifles and I know bungie can do that in any major patch since they've removed perks before, like shot package.

1 RespuestaShotgunner hates fusion rifles. Classic. Maybe stop charging in a straight line towards your enemy.

3 RespuestasSo you are sure saying backup plan is only an exotic perk? Cant wait until my 1000 Voices and Telesto get backup plan then. Cant wait for the remove backup plan from exotic fusion rifle posts. I have a Crooked Fang with backup plan, what about that.

1 RespuestaBring back plan c and remove from legendary hmm I'm ok with this

1 RespuestaJust kill them first.

Just get it. Problem solved.

4 RespuestasEditado por Sarah Rose: 12/3/2019 9:35:31 AMSo I read down a bit. A post trying to address BuP suddenly becomes a "NERF FUSIONS" post. That's not what this is about, guys. Smh. It's about one perk. EDIT: try rolling Under Pressure instead of Backup Plan and see how insane your range becomes then. Feel free to decide which is worse, a shotgun-fusion or a sniper-fusion. I think we all know the answer. The counter to shotguns should stay.

7 RespuestasNerf everything to the ground add guns with healing and rename the game to magical pony friends where we dancing and holding hands around a campfire.

1 RespuestaBut then what would bad players use?

I want this perk removed for another reason, I hate it, I forget I’m using it and completely miss my shot, wouldn’t be too bad but nearly every roll I seem to get includes backup plan.

😂😂😂😂😂😂 scrub

Pellet Shotguns shouldn't do damage after 9ms

1 RespuestaNooooooooooooooo I rarely play pvp but I love this perk in pve

2 RespuestasI don't think the problem is with the perk, its with range. That being said I also don't think nerfing the range is a good thing. There absolutely should be punishment for getting out manuevered by someone with a fusion. I think the answer is in either the charge time or the general handling. If you increase the charge time on high impacts it puts them more in line with their intended play space, that being long mid, as well as putting more pressure on the player to think about engagements and change their style of play to accommodate for it, as well as making back up plan less effective. Handling does something similar, that being forcing players to think out engagements and play at longer ranges while also providing a hit to back up plan, but in a different way. Not being able to just whip out these weapons removes the whole shotgun alternative aspect to them and turn them, or at the very least makes it harder for players to find success with it. Instead they may need to bait players into winning positions or treat it almost like a sniper (not quite that extreme on the range, but you get the idea). Or perhaps what they did with Telesto could be applied to all high impact fusions (for those not aware or for those that forgot they increased its base zoom) which forces low skill players into longer ranges.

1 RespuestaIt should just be removed from High Impact FRs like Erentil and Wizened Rebuke. The other archetypes aren't as deadly with it.
-
1 RespuestaHow often are people actually dying to a fusion of any sort? This iron banner I actually paid attention because I tried using my erentil for the first time in a while. I saw one other erentil user, 2 wizened rebuke and a jotunn. None seemed unusually effective or lethal. I died to snipers, shotguns and bygones I played enough to finish three bounties and called it a day

They removed shot package from shotguns in D1 so I don’t see any reason why they can’t get rid of backup plan.

4 RespuestasBuP is fine imo. No change needed

Shotguns are still used 3 times more often than fusions. Maybe just adapt?

34 RespuestasEditado por $hirtless Captain Kirk: 12/1/2019 4:53:32 PMThis is the stupidest s*** I've ever heard you can tell that anybody making these threads does not actually use the perk or have a weapon with it. First of all it kills your range. Secondly, it really screws with your ammo economy in PVP. The perk os meant to be stowed. You habe to unstow to reload, then restow it with abysmal fusiom reload times. If you're getting killed by a back-up plan Fusion rifle you deserve to die. You're literally getting outplayed by someone managing several components, not some fn shotgun ape.

36 RespuestasEditado por Nova: 12/1/2019 4:56:06 PMNerf the only good fusion in the game? Look at the stats, fusions are barely used in crucible, erentil being the only one that actually gets used. Its not even OP, no one uses it at 5500 comp. No uses it in sweats, its not even in the top 15 most used in quickplay. You're just bad man, back up plan is no different to some kid hard scoping a lane and you getting domed because you just walked into it.
-
10 RespuestasFight accordingly then. It's your own fault after awhile. You're aware of what's happening, but you keep playing the same way expecting different outcomes simply because you wish it.....adapt.
-
No it’s fine.
-
No They arent fun. They dont help the community. The rewards are trash
-
Doesn't affect me either way. Get rid of it.

I agree. Back up plan on erentil is absurd with zero viable counters. You can get the drop on a fusion user and still lose solely because they have back up plan. If bungie doesn't want to remove the perk outright then at least prevent it from rolling on high impact fusions.
