GETWOKEGOBROKE
I wouldn’t say this is much of a surprise to anyone who has been following the shitstorm of this movie the last few weeks but hey, this stubs any possibility of another trilogy containing wahmen connor and terminators that look like they work at Starbucks.
My honest opinion of the movie was that Mackenzie Davis wasn’t even the problem which most people expected her to be. Yes she’s in there for “wahmen power!!!’” but it isn’t shoved into our face too heavily as the movie handicaps her quite a lot.
The problem was Dani, the 90 pound 5”1 woman who has literally no character development like Linda Hamilton in the first movie and is supposed to be the resistance leader in the future against Legion (because the movie decided to do a massive -blam!- you and kill John Connor in the first 5 mins, yeah that guy that has always been the resistance leader through hardship and mentoring from his battle hardened mother who will now be passing his title on to someone who has done absolutely nothing to earn it). Another massive -blam!- you was the fight she was with the Rev 9 where she actually holds her own AGAINST A -blam!-ING LIQUID METAL ENDOSKELETON.
Anyways this movie flopped and thank you for reading my ramblings. Disagree if you like but this movie in my humblest of opinions, was horrible and I’m glad it flopped.

1 RespuestaI knew it would. They only ever needed to make ONE more movie after T2: the future war up to the point that they destroy Skynet and send Reese back in time.
-
1 RespuestaI'm still trying to decide whether or not I hated this more then Genisys. Like f--k James Cameron where was some creative control over this train wreck? Why on earth did he allow them to kill off John Connor at the start? The whole point of the movie was to be a sequel to T2 yet it actively undermines the first two movies. By killing John you ultimately make T2 worthless. Maybe if James Cameron had made it instead of handing it over to a mediocre director like Tim Miller this might have had some hope.
-
They should have done three things... 1. Do something different with John. Because yeah, it makes T2, one of the best action movies ever, irrelevant. 2. Have a strong, testosterone laden male lead. Maybe swap Mackenzie in as the evil Terminator. 3. WEAR THE SHADES, ARNIE! We needed some Terminator mojo.

Editado por LahDsai: 11/4/2019 7:36:50 AMWe need to revitalize the franchise. Any ideas?
Let's kill John Conner.
Wow, that's a climax that would definitely subvert expectations.
No, do it at the beginning. The audience will never see it coming.
Good point. And it opens a lot of new directions we can take the story. What do you suggest?
We have a new girl who becomes the chosen one to save humanity from Skynet.
... OK... but isn't that just the same thing? Doesn't it render the twist meaningless? What would be different than just not adding that plot point?
Abso-f***ing nothing.
1 RespuestaHonestly terminator stopped being good years ago. It’s basically milking a dead franchise.

10 RespuestasThe special effects/practical effects in terminator 2 look better than the CGI they tried to use as a crutch for this movie in 2019. Let that sink in.

Yeah? Good.

They pissed all over Terminator 2 and for that, this franchise can die a slow and painful death.

Editado por Dancing_Downer: 11/3/2019 11:46:46 PMWhat did they expect? People don’t like these types of sequels. What I’m pretty upset about, is most writers seem to just throw shite together and call it good. They don’t seem to be thinking or being creative. Most movies seem to have a copy and pasted storyline these days, they’re just so predictable. It seems that corruptions want to add equality into their movies, but the writers/directors are such doofuses they can’t do it creatively. I’m sure people are fine with female lead characters/cast, but most things with those are poorly written/directed. I’m glad it’s flopping. Hopefully we’ll see more originality in more movies. Actually let’s just reboot something people are familiar with just to stay safe.
Interesting movies are scary...
1 RespuestaFor what it’s worth, I enjoyed it. Having said that, I am ready for this franchise to die. Every single story needs a beginning, and an end, and this franchise should have ended with Terminator 2. You can only re-package the same old story so many times before it becomes stale.

6 RespuestasThis is the same bullshit that Star Wars did in the Last Jedi.

All things considered, it's kind of bullshit that they can make another Terminator movie, but they can't make a real life time machine to send me back to before "woke" became an Eleventh-Order Post-Ironic Extremely Online filler word

the last good Terminator movie was in 1991. everything else has been a pathetic cash grab.
