One new weapon per vendor. Whoo.
Armor RECYCLED from Year 1. This is NOT NEW GEAR.
Iron Banner Armor that looks bland and largely comparable to the Iron Banner set of Joker’s Wild. But hey, thank god we can use the old ornaments on it.
You... literally just pretty much stated exactly how Rise of Iron was a bigger expansion.
RoI And SK have the same number of New strikes, 2. BUT Rise of Iron also included Strike exclusives with those Strikes while Shadowkeep’s... don’t even have an EMBLEM.
RoI had three new Crucible maps. Shadowkeep has ONE, Fragment. Widow’s Court and Twilight Gap? Blast to the past, ported from D1. Woooo.
The patrol area? Oh boy, the MOON AGAIN? It’s not like I already spent THREE YEARS THERE. The Plaguelands were smaller, yet they were 100% NEW. The actual NEW patrol space of Rise of Iron was much bigger than Shadowkeep. And there’s much more going on in those areas other than enemies just running around, Sorrows Harbor is just a Nightmare spawning ground, the Lunar Battlegrounds is campaign only, and the Scarlet Keep is just a strike area. Things actually HAPPENED in the Plaguelands.
Vex Offensive vs Archons Forge is the basic argument. Let it be noticed beforehand that Vex Offensive is part of Season of the Undying, not Shadowkeep, And will be f*cking gone in two months, whereas the Archon’s Forge is still active TO THIS DAY. Vex Offensive has its own loot pool, which is a definite plus in its favor, but that’s its only replay ability. Archons Forge had a minor loot pool, but major replay ability as it was a means to get to max Light. Between its minor replay ability for gear alone and the fact that it’s gonna be gone in a couple weeks, Vex Offensive is hardly a knockout.
But we’re forgetting the fact that Shadowkeep offers three exotic armors, while RoI offered eight. The number of exotic weapons are give or take the same considering that SK has 6, and RoI had 7, but two of those were just Year 3 versions of Thunderlord in a different element.
Let’s not forget the slough of nerfs going into Shadowkeep. Primary damage being crippled to the point that bows can’t even one hit body shot basic enemies anymore. Taken Goblins in Shattered Throne don’t even die to a crit Shot. Meanwhile Rise of Iron offered major QOL upgrades like the Memory of Jolder (what was that about useless statues?) that finally got rid of the idiotic sprint cooldown Bungie decided was necessary in D1.
Remember factions? Yeah they got updated with RoI too. Three extra vendors and they still got an update. Our D2 faction leaders just take up space. Really feeling the love there.
And to top it all off, VENDOR. REFRESH.

The problem is that Bungie spent a long time completely redoing the progression and the game during the past several months. The new mod system and distribution takes a long time, the new ecconomy took awhile, Armor 2.0 values needing to be added to all armor in the game, etc. Now look, new gear needs to be added, but if you do a major rework of your game that takes significant development time to do. Eververse cosmetic items take 0 time to make, this is coming from someone in 3D modeling. Most of those items I could probably make in about 1-2 work days. Reworking an entire game and adding new gear takes weeks.
-
Reworking an entire game and adding new gear takes weeks
To months....to years. ...and that's if everything goes according to plan, and you don't have mission-critical personnel leaving the company.
-
But which was more necessary? New gear and activities actually worth chasing, or an updated armor system that still allows you to accomplish pretty much the same exact stuff as before? The only major changes we’ve seen come into play is the REALLY BUSTED shit, like Triple Dynamo And Thunder Coil. Armor 2.0 was unnecessary and has hardly made D2 worth playing more than before. New gear was necessary and we haven’t gotten it.
-
Yeah 2.0's end result doesn't match the cost investment. It's dumb and a serious push factor
-
Sorry you see it that way. Its actually revolutionized the way the game can be played.
-
No it hasnt, the game has gone from collecting armor with the perks you want to putting them on armor with stats you want
-
Editado por TJ_Dot: 10/24/2019 4:18:31 PMBy just how much? Perk choice being bastardized by affinity? The few perks that fired up Arc Melee and Void Nade builds? It isn't THAT different from last year, went from RR to Stats and choice hindered by affinity and obscene masterwork costs beyond level 7 for little gain. "Revolutionized" is a huge hyperbole My loadouts are hardly growing THAT much, just some getting better things than what Y2 allowed, or some finally getting perks on blank slates. Amazing Strength roll on the Took Offense legs I got yesterday (worn with Graviton Forfeit on Spectral), ruined by it being Void and not Arc. (Kinetic Shotgun, Graviton Lance, Quickfang/Gold Tusk). Wonderful, 1 LEG out of 5 parts of ONE armor set out of 76

What’s up with thunder coil anyway? I was running it on arcstrider for a bit and never noticed it actually do anything at all. Same for arc battery. Ran them for hours and couldn’t see any difference in anything in game.
-
Thunder Coil increases Arc melee damage exponentially. Try it with Liars Handshake and the Unstoppable Melee mod. Also Thunder Coil allows Titans to one hit melee with bottom tree Striker in the Crucible by stacking it with the Knockout ability on bottom tree Striker. Arc Battery gives you over shield when dodging, for more survivability. Don’t know much else besides that, I haven’t used it just seen it in action.
-
Appreciate the response. I was running thunder coil for awhile and seriously didn’t notice any difference. Didn’t try it with liars handshake though.

Editado por TheArtist: 10/23/2019 7:06:03 PM
One new weapon per vendor. Whoo.
...and WHAT do you think this games SHALLOW loot pool and PERK pool is going to support? Eh? Especially when---in the last 12 months: 1. Bungie lost their publisher and the estimated $50 million dollars a year in development costs Activision used to cover as their business partner? 2. Bungie lost access to 400 additional employees earmarked to make content, in the guises of High Moon Studios and Vicarious Visions. 3. In an effort to resolve the internal conflict over what KIND of game Destiny would be that has plagued Bungie throughout the life of this game, the team LEADS who ran the departments who are responsible for CREATING new weapons and weapon perks LEFT THE COMPANY AND HAD TO BE REPLACED?? See, that's what makes you kids so tedious to have to deal with on this, and so tiresome in having to listen to your complaints: Because you can't see this situation from any other point of view but your own....or from any other posture other than "I WANT"!!! ...and therefore the World Owes me........ Because the reality is Bungie needs to REPLACE that $50 million per year that Activision took with them when they left. They need to replace that rumored $150 million it cost them buyout the rest of their contract with Activision (Activision didn't walk away and let Bungie keep the rights to Destiny simply because everyone involved were such NICE GUYS). Because they needed to replace people like Jon Weisznewski and Josh Hamrick....and the people who took their jobs need TIME to plan out and implement their own vision on how to handle this part of the game. The reality that we had ANY DLC after what Bungie went through in the last 12 months is nothing short of REMARKABLE. I was sure that all we were going to get was another Annual Pass...and year of nothing but drip-feed cotent. I WAS SHOCKED when they announced that we were going to get a Rise of Iron sized DLC..... ...and have been amazed at the quality of the work. This weekend, it became clear that an exotic weapon had a game-breaking bug (Telesto). BUNGIE DEACTIVATED THE WEAPON **THAT DAY**. The Bungie we were dealing with in Destiny 1 would have NEVER been able to move that fast and that decisively on an in-game problem.

Editado por Doctor_Roidberg: 10/23/2019 8:17:32 PMUh, yeah they have. They disabled the Enhancement core farm from Pinnacle weapon claiming within HOURS. They’ve always been quick to shut down EXPLOITS that are beneficial to players. Are you suggesting that I should accept poor quality of a product for the same price as the previous works simply because of a publisher’s poor financial choices? That I owe it to them to shell out more cash for content that was previously free, just because they can’t keep on good terms with the people who give them their allowance or hang on to the actually good armor designers, gameplay coordinators, or sandbox directors? Are you suggesting that somehow Bungie’s f*ck ups since Vanilla and subsequent loss of funding is MY FAULT? God, you love playing that card and acting like it’s a spoiled community that’s ruining the franchise. Remember Anthem? Our wonderful little chat about how the E3 trailer didn’t reflect the finished product AT ALL? That’s because it DIDNT. It was proven that the E3 showcase was the START OF ANTHEM, not PART OF IT. Time and time again devs and producers put out half assed work and for some reason you defend them time and again? You critique the weirdest things. As far as Shadowkeep goes, fact is it’s NOT a “Rise of Iron sized expansion” when half of its “content” is the same, recycled, CRAP WE’VE BEEN SMEARING ON OUR SCREENS FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS. Bungie’s financial issues is their fault, not mine. I’m not going to accept a massive decrease in content and loot for the same initial price, then have half the decent gear be locked behind a paywall because “making content is hard.” It’s a bullshit excuse and one that says to me that Bungie never should have held onto the Destiny name. They shouldn’t promise what they can’t deliver. They made the same promises that they have before, that things were actually going to be BETTER with Activision out of the picture, but things are WORSE.
They disabled the Enhancement core farm from Pinnacle weapon claiming within HOURS.
Dude. Stop. You're just making a jerk out of yourself now. THAT BUG INVOLVING TOLESTO WAS GAME-BREAKING. It was a means of generating infinite supers....and would have triggered a STORM of complaints from Iron Banner and Comp if they HADN'T deactivated..... ...and that bug isn't a "benefit to the player" if someone is using it AGAINST you in a competitive environment. I'm **suggesting** that you take responsibility for being an informed consumer and for your purchase decisions. If you don't think that the product that Bungie is offering Is a good value for your money? Fine. TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GIVE IT TO THEIR COMPETITORS!!! GO BUY SOMETHING ESLE. That sends a very clear message to Bungie regarding your discontent....and is your biggest weapon in **influencing** their behavior. Not coming here and complaining. So many of you sound like the woman i stood behind in line at the cafeteria where I work....who was berating a **cashier** about the "coffee being cold all the time"....AS SHE WAS PAYING FOR THAT COFFEE SHE WAS -blam!- ABOUT. I will NEVER say that anyone is obligated to accept poor quality. But when you buy a product that your unhappy with, and the ONLY action you are willing take on your own behalf is to COMPLAIN? To insist that everyone else has to change so that YOU don't have to? Sorry. You're not going to get much sympathy from me. The solution to that woman's discontent was simple. TO GO TO ONE OF THE **FOUR** OTHER PLACES TO BUY COFFEE----ALL OF WHOM SERVE IT CONSISTENTLY HOT---THAT WERE WITHIN A FIVE MINUTE WALK. Three of which were in the same "BUILDING". When you complain....and aren't willing to take even the most minimal steps to serve your own interests beyond trying to control others through complaints.....you're going to get a lot of eye-rolling in response. Because people quickly figure out that drama REALLY isn't about whatever it is that's being complained about. Its about the power of complaining. Editado por Doctor_Roidberg: 10/24/2019 4:15:05 PMThanks for the life lesson bud. Try this one. I work at a shitty dead end fast food restaurant. Have for two years now. Finally moving to better opportunities in a couple weeks. Someone comes and complains to me, if they’re relatively polite about it I’m happy to help. They’ll receive a response and I’ll work to make something happen. Bungie doesn’t give responses to any actual issues here on the forums, and the few times that they do they’re sporadic and random. So your method, walk away and take your business elsewhere? Hardly applicable here, considering that if a customer rants to me that they’re leaving because they’ve had enough of cold coffee I LITERALLY DONT CARE. Business isn’t going to die, and that’s the same case for Bungie. They have enough mindless credit cards to support them through their new wonderful MTX to not have to worry about actually dedicated players finally throwing in the towel. The reason I stick with this game is for the hope that somebody sees the actual potential and runs with it. Can we get back to game issues pal? Would be great.

Editado por TheArtist: 10/24/2019 5:34:44 PMHypothetical. Woman comes into your establishment. She complains about something that----no matter how much you'd like to fix it-----you cant. Or worse she makes an unreasonable request that would damage the business or is otherwise unreasonable. And she keeps coming in day after day after day after day....and continues to complain about the same thing that you can't fix...and isn't going to change. At what point do you simply tell her, that she would be happier going to a different place of business? Because THAT is what a well-run business will do. They are not going to destroy their busines and their brand on the rocks of an unreasonable customer request. I can show up at a Ferrari dealership and demand I be sold a car at a KIA price. A well run dealership will politely point me to a business that is in my stated price range. A poorly run dealership will have a sales staff that laughs me off the lot. What NEITHER of them will do is sell me a car at a major LOSS simply because I show up demanding one. The customer may always be "right"....but that doesn't mean they are always reasonable. And businesses sometimes have to give a cold shoulder to a customer that insists on being unreasonable.
-
The difference is that we don’t advertise for things we don’t sell. We’re not gonna say we sell hot coffee then serve her a cup of cold joe. And if we do, well we’re capable of making hot coffee, so we’re gonna make it and give it to her. Now if we advertise that we’re selling coffee for $1, with as many toppings and any flavor you can think of, and she comes in EXPECTING that, and gets a basic cup of joe for $2 and any extra flavoring is another $1? Then she would kinda have a right to be pissed. Time and again we’ve been told “this expansion is going to be different” “This is really gonna be the start of a new Destiny” “This is going to be a Rise of Iron sized expansion.” Yeah, lukewarm cup of old coffee.
