Attention, city under attack! (Enemy retreats)

It was storming that day. The sound of rain hitting the streets and buildings accompanied by the occasional flash of lightning and booming of thunder.
The civilians have been staying inside, breathing heavily with concern for what is to come. The soldiers patrolled the streets, with their armor drenched from the rain and their weapons gripped tightly in their hands.
After a few minutes, a loud bang could be heard followed by more similar sounds. From a distance, it could be mistaken for thunder. Communications lit up, "Spotted hostiles! Evac civili---- <Static>"
From the sky, countless shadowy figures descended from above and took more solid forms of all shapes and sizes. From fairly small primal aspids to towering legion titans.
[spoiler]The event has begun. Objectives, clear out any hostiles and evacuate as many civilians as possible.[/spoiler]

Update: Some strong foes have been spotted on the field. Extreme caution advised.
Update 2: After heavy losses, the enemy retreats.
