I just love the fact the red hive sparrow isn't earned in Shadowkeep. Nope. Tess has it. Speaking of, you'd have figured Holliday would have some sort of seasonal relevance, like a few exotic ships or sparrows to grind for. But no. Tess has all of those. Emotes in her store? Fine. Whatever. Armor sets in her store? No. Not when Bungie can't be arsed to make more than ONE new armor set for a MAJOR EXPANSION. The -blam!-ing raid set, the RAID set is a reskin, but boy oh boy, eververse sure got updated. Ships and sparrows? One or tw- wait, there are actually only one or two that are earnable. Silly me. The other 54 of each are exclusive to the cash shop. We got no vendor refresh, one new armor set (looks like trash), and like what, eight exotics? Where is the -blam!-ing loot? Rise of Iron came with more than ten sets of armor for each class. It was made at the tail end of Destiny 1. When most the team was working on Destiny 2. So how in the actual nine levels of hell did Bungie fail to even match half of the loot of Rise of Iron? Imagine being too lazy to reuse Vault of Glass armor, and instead just reuse a set that's already in the game. Ffs, but of course, the cash shop has all the new odds and ends.

 • Bungle could have done so much with the raid armor. So. Much. Those champion minotaurs at the beginning of the first encounter with those ribbons circling their body...? That could have been an AMAZING armor concept for Titans. What about the Angelics? The spinal cord that extends downards could have been incorporated into a Warlock robe. Why not????????? Hunters could have had a cloak that looks like the corpse of the Conscrated Harpy. The exposed critical portion during the damage phase could have been pointing outwards on the cloak and dimly flashing still. Why Bungie???????? These are LITERALLY ideas I came up on the whim. Come. On.

 • Why Amanda doesn’t have some kind of ship and sparrow crafting system I’ll never know. It doesn’t have to be super complex, just a way for us to mix and match all the old generic ship and sparrow pieces so we can make our own. It can even be quest-driven, make us grind for resources or whatever but please, give the woman something to DO. I just really want the classic streamlined jump ship design again.

 • I've mained a Hunter since D1's beta, and I've never seen a class more shafted than Warlocks in D2. I'm pretty sure the balance department at Bungie is just a bunch of chimpanzees slamming their hands on keyboards at this point.

 • Ahhh warlocks have been downhill ever since the end of ROI, personally i play all three so i know what needs balanced truly, but i main a warlock, been a lock fan ever since the beginning of destiny as a series. We are missing our base melee speed, one thing people argue is that 1. Apparently our melee ability, which take's longest kf all three classes to regen, makes up for it. It's mind numbingly stupid.

 • Ah, a person of class who understand's they never should have meddled with alot of things, unless they straight up planned to fix it on the next week like in D1. Or in that month, i'm personally getting D1 again when i have the chance, myself? Kinda very poor rn, family problems and whatnot, no other gaurdians concern though they'll ask why. Just gotta save money whenever i get it and make choices that are of similiar worth and longevity of enjoyment.

 • Yep. Maybe they thought they could get away with it because CuO was Destiny 2's lowest point, so less players were active and would know about it. Or, they just didn't care and are exceedingly lazy.

 • Lazy, unconcerned about their playerbase and actually, I'd say that it was a sad indictment of their opinion of their fans. Granted there are more than a few sheep out there who will happily "throw money at the screen" every time Bungie make even one iota of effort. Bungie could offer a new start screen for $5 and there are people on here who would happily pay to "support" all the hard work that went into it..... smh

 • or it's a legitimate question from people who aren't in need of justification. those items are useless in terms of game play, the only value they hold is what you place on them. people who ask why does it bother you understand this and don't get why people are worked up over nothing.

 • Alright. Then I shall explain it to you, and hopefully you'll not retort with some meaningless drivel that will waste both of our time. "It's only cosmetic" Yes, the items certainly are only cosmetic. Which is certainly fine. Many games offer the majority of their cosmetic items exclusively in the cash shop, such as Warframe, Fortnite, PUBG, APEX, etc. And that's all fine and well. Though, something that you should have noticed is that all of those games are free. They are also, barring warframe, not loot based games. And I can see the wheels spinning at this point "but Destiny 2 has gone free to play." No. Destiny 2 Vanilla, and planets have gone free to play. Forsaken, the last expansion pass, Shadowkeep, and all future 'seasons' total over a hundred, close to two hundred dollars. And that's the difference. Those games are strictly free to play. Destiny is only free if your interested in playing the worst part of it. So, where am I going with this? Well, you see, these 'cosmetic only' items do negatively impact that game. How so? Quite obviously, if one were to bother looking. Shadowkeep launched with a total of how many new armor sets? One. And a re-skin. Tess, coincidentally, also arrived with one brand new set (which I think we can all see the disparity in quality between -blam!- bag lady chic and majestic knight armor). No vanguard, gambit, crucible, or world vendor refresh. In fact, they didn't get any new weapons, not even reskins. Well, I suppose there or those three pinnacl- sorry, ritual. There wasn't enough time to make pinnacles. But hey, please browse our fourteen new weapon ornaments, won't you? All of which will be exclusive to silver purchases. Mind you, there won't be any new exotic ships or sparrows, or ghosts, because Bungie is currently limited to a very small studio of 700 employees, and they can't afford new world drops, or dedicate time to that. But please, do buy the 18 new ones they put in the cash shop, especially that new red keep sparrow, which definitely should be a Tess item. But I mean, all of this time spent on Tess, sure, maybe it affected some armor sets, in that the downgrade from Forsaken to this is over ten times lower, and hey you know, the raid armor is also a reskin too. But it doesn't effect gameplay... except in that there are only eight new exotics. On par with Warmind or Curse of Osiris. Fifteen dollar expansions. Not bad, considering Shadowkeep only cost three times that amount. But hey, check out these new finishers, and emotes. tl;dr: surprise, but cosmetic only items still require development time, and in a game that has paid expansions, the majority of time should not be spent on the cash shop. Especially in a loot based game.

 • if the game was free or a million dollars is irrelevant. the company offers cosmetic items for sale because it is a business. you are not entitled to every item in a game, and it is within the company's rights to do as they are doing. the loot based game idea is a misconception you shade the rest of your judgement through. there's no shortage of loot, and the purpose of so much repetitive loot is for you to get the perks, stats, energy type, and so on. cosmetic items are only worth what you value them as, if they are important to you that is fine. in all there is no wrong going on with Eververse, you just don't like it.

 • God I hate it when people do this, but you said a lot of really not quite smart things, and I need to address them all.
if the game was free or a million dollars is irrelevant. the company offers cosmetic items for sale because it is a business.
This is x because it is x. In your case, company. The company offers items for sale because it is a company. I removed your attempts to occlude the absolute silliness of it. That is called circular reasoning. It justifies absolutely nothing, and is used by people who don't actually have any arguement except that this status quo is thus, because it is. Much easier than having to think though, I suppose.
you are not entitled to every item in a game, and it is within the company's rights to do as they are doing.
I never said I was, which I suppose is just basic reading comprehension, but sure, you may draw out this straw man as it pleases you. So for the sake of it, let's say I did. After all, I've already paid the hefty fee of entry, and when you buy something there is a certain expectation that one recieves something in return. Such as when one buys a game only to find every ship, sparrow, and emote behind an additional pay wall. It's like paying the full price for a car, but the dealer decides they also want to charge you for the hubcaps, paint, seat covers, stereo and glove box after you've already bought it. Because after all, they aren't strictly necessary, and they are a company, afterall. Now, it isn't an issue if you want to buy a new stereo, of course that should cost you. But to recieve none at all at the initial purchas, well, that's quite pathetic.
the loot based game idea is a misconception you shade the rest of your judgement through. there's no shortage of loot, and the purpose of so much repetitive loot is for you to get the perks, stats, energy type, and so on.
Why do people raid? Loot. Why do strikes? Loot. Why play comp? Loot. Why play gambit? Loot. Banshee? Loot. Menagerie? Loot. Everything done in this game is done out of a chase for loot. You saying 'this is not a loot based game' casts the entirety of your judgement in such a shadow that the solar eclipse would be envious. But, here we are. And yes, there is. The new expansion came with one new set. "But there's all this other" we already paid of all of that. We pay for new things, not to recieve the privilege of using what we've already bought. Oh yes, and you're also making the case for boring repetitive content. Lovely.
cosmetic items are only worth what you value them as, if they are important to you that is fine. in all there is no wrong going on with Eververse, you just don't like it.
They're worth as much as they take away from the developement time and quality for paid content. The gross disparity between what is present in the actual game, and in the cash shop is plain to see. I've no issue with a cash shop because "they are a company" but one as intrusive, pervasive, and dominant as this one, that holds a monopoly on the majority of the items in game (yes, a loot based game, friend) is beyond ridiculous. Couldn't allow bounties from the directory, but what's that? Oh, the cash shop is there now too. You must have been happy to see that.

 • Damn. Caboose out here makin sense. But I am in total agreement. Bungie is making paid dlcs, season passes, micro transactions, and “loot boxes”. This is a maximum profit model. Whoring the game out to the max. But yes there is loot in the game and a lot of it is recycled. Yet all the new good looking stuff continues to b in eververse. Now that some eververse stuff is old enough they are using it as the raid armor lol

 • at the end of the day you don't like it. so what? odd that you reference Blizzard and WoW in which you paid full price for base game and every DLC along with a monthly subscription fee, yet the sold cosmetics. no one called them evil. if the business practice bothers you so, use your spending dollars elsewhere. that's where your power lies. you can voice your opinion on it, yet the company has a design model they intend to stick to no matter how you feel about it. that's all there is to it.
