You seriously thought only monetizing that crap was the best option?
Do yourself a favor and make an actual effort to look altruistic, it would help to not turn a lot of people off to your "support monetization", like Tess.

If ppl are to stupid and desperate to buy it, they they deserve to be scammed, robbed or whatever you Wana call it.

1 RespuestaIt's like you people forget that as soon as the next season comes, they bump us all up to the same level by default anyway. They did the same thing in D1. As soon as then next expansion launched all the vendors sold previous expansion max level gear. This is a catch up mechanic that they said will be at the end of the season in the last couple weeks. Why is your elite player ego getting tilted so hard that someone will be able to play with their friends? It's a base level catchup mechanic. That's it. You will still be way past them in terms of power due to the uncapped artifact bonus. You'll also have had access to better loot during that time due to your time invested. This is for what they said, life gets busy, and will help with the "i'd like to raid" "yeah but you're underdeveloped and we need to start the raid now" scenarios.

We should just wait and see how the first season will turn out. From the sounds of it, its extremely easy to get ranks. But maybe it isnt. We just have to wait and see

Anyone overly concerned with making sure they get everything by the end of a season without playing enough is certainly someone who can drop a few bucks to finish it up. If you have real life issues or responsibilities getting in the way, finishing the seasonal Destiny track is probably not on your mind anyways, lol — and how does a boosted XP gains help them anyways? Anyone who plays regularly will hit the cap easily and anyone who plays casually will just spend money to finish it if they want to. My guess is there are a handful of you who just don’t like the idea that someone who plays a lot less can still get everything with zero effort. Get over it. That’s the way the world works for people who have money.

Why is there a time limit in the 1st place? Answer those questions 1st before saying it makes sense, dumb fanboys. The only silver lining here is that these desperate moves by Bungie show that they are losing players, pre-order numbers and whales. Maybe finally the time they have left to mutilate this game is ticking. Here is hoping that a decent company like Kojima’s buys this mess of a game from these incompetent, greedy, lazy hacks and saves it from its inevitable doom and failure.

If you think Bungie isn’t going to stoop so low as to making the Pass only completable for high intensity players so that lower intensity players will feel a massive push to pay for the tiers they inevitably miss out on, hold on to your ass. This is a nightmare.

I hate that D2 is going this route, and it's really turning me off to the game. I'm going to give it a fair chance, but I'm not buying Shadowkeep now. Before this announcement, I had planned to buy it twice, but if I can't earn items in game at my leisure anymore, I'm just not going to buy it to look at.

The battle pass seems to me to be a very sneaky yet targeted way to insert/sell this catch up mechanic to players with more money than time. One of my favorite talking heads on utube is just completely dodging this “last 4 weeks of season, rank up via cash/pay to skip grind”. Unless I’m also misunderstanding this too, it really smells of aggressive mobile game strategies. I guess it was always a matter of time for this but how can anybody think that the game will NOT be affected by Bungie’s will to sell this extra battle pass rank up? This is literally for already PAYING customers to PAY MORE for like a triumph score, basically

For what it is worth, i am not going to worry if I don't reach rank 100 every season. Let's remember that PVE content has a base starting power level and usually caps at or near the power level cap. In addition, power is capped at 20 above an activities max power level. For instance if the activity has a max power of 700 then we are capped at 720 despite being 750. Now for activities such as Iron Banner this could be an issue as it is uncapped. There in lies the pay to catch up for those who want to compete, and that is of PvP actually becomes less toxic which more than likely won't happen. The other issue is exotics, only available during the season and can return at a later date, could be OP or broken that makes them either useless or in demand. Bungie seems to love to make their quests require some type of PvP step, and once again some players despise PvP in it's current state. . For those who are having concerns or doubts, the best advice is to just use New Light and see how things are going before investing any more money.

I was a bit surprised to hear about their idea. Seemed a little dirty. “Don’t have time to play the game as much as others, well you can just spend more money than them too to get things”. If you can buy the boost with dust this will at least be something. Provided it is not something like 2000-5000 dust to get the boost. I too thought increase XP was the way to go. And maybe not just have a single XP boost for a week or two at the end of a season making the player have to spend 40 hours in a week to make up for the 80 it might take to unlock it naturally. Instead have the XP boost ramp up gradually. Those who play moderately each week may barely see any increase except their last couple days may feel like they went faster than at the beginning. Meanwhile somebody who was busy the first month may already be getting a slight boost that increases each week. My idea might look like Week 1-4 - no bonus Week 5 - x1.25 bonus Week 6 x1.45 bonus Week 7 x1.70 bonus Week 8 x2.0 bonus Week 9 x2.5 bonus Week 10 x3.0 bonus Week 11 x3.75 bonus Week 12 x5.0 bonus That’s 3 months, with the last week giving the biggest boost to really help those that could have barely been able to play that season can get something with moderate play. The bonus does nothing for those of us that powered through all the rewards in the first 4-6 weeks or however long it is time gated to take.

1 RespuestaWarframe's Nightwave is free, lighter on content, but you catch up by grinding out the tasks that level up the pass. Basically, they are like bounties that award reputation/standing. D2 has bounties already. Easy peasy. You are right. A little bit abrasive, but it is important to smell the marketing BS. People are upset that you won't let Bungie get away with pulling a fast one. And that's purely because change in general is a bit more positive as of late.
