For whatever reason, when D2 came out, Bungie decided that it’d be a good idea to make tether- an already not amazing pvp super a tiny bit worse. Basically, no matter which tree you use, tether will not one hit an enemy guardian on a direct hit, making it one of, if not the worst pvp super in the game (which is a shame, because top tree tether’s passive game is great). On top of that, it’s suppression still has a horrible trigger time, oftentimes allowing an enemy in their super to kill you long before your super actually tethers them, effectively making tether suck even as a shutdown super, which it was made to do in the first place.
As a solution to this, I’m proposing that Bungie:
-Make tether kill on a direct hit
-Have tether activate the second it comes into contact with any surface
- (or) Activate as soon as it is shot (in the sense that it can tether people while it flies through the air, not just after it hits a solid surface)
Anyway, I’ve just seen next to nothing on the forums about this topic, and I would just like to bring this into light before shadowkeep so that tether can hopefully get some much needed love.

6 RespuestasMake the quiver shoot out one OP shot that breaks into 6 shots while flying trough the air and give it tracking like blade barrage. Give it normal smoke grenade and dodge grants invisibility. Pair with gauntlets for true sight. And say hello to the end of crucible.

2 RespuestasEditado por WjndWalk3r: 8/28/2019 9:07:46 AMTether can oneshot even a super, i oneshoted a cpt american titan right after he active his super.

2 RespuestasBottom Tree should have every arrow OHK non-super Guardians considering you have to aim them. If Golden Gun gets it without having to aim, Shadowshot should get it. Top tree tether should OHK certain mid-super Guardians if it hits directly and damage any enemies it tethers. If the first shot killed, the damage dealt should be dramatically increased. This would increase it's value as a single-use super as you could fire it at a tight group of enemies, kill one with the arrow and clean up the rest. Tethers should trigger the moment they hit. I can only imagine they don't because of a flaw in how it's programmed and it's not been fixed because Bungie doesn't know where the problem is. These buffs should be implemented with other buffs to other supers, I'm not out here trying to see Shadowshot dominate crucible, I just don't know the other classes because I don't play them.

Bungie made a statement that they are looking at adjusting supers next season they also stated something about void ones in particular... idk if they meant hunters.... but supers are powerful way too powerfully I can say the balanced ones are golden gun, nova bomb, tether, as far as I can kill them with a head shot from a high impact to medium sniper rifle or a shotgun head shot, tether does need to be a one hit kill. If it hits. Striker Titan is defiantly getting worked on. That’s all we got for right now though.... so hopefully they mean tether like you I’ve had to many run ins where I tether and the delay and also where I hit the arrow it took the super but the animations still kills me.... so I got no where but removing it.... and sometimes I’ve tether then the delay they just run glide through it.... and dead... yeah striker.... and the pain train continues🤷♂️

Tether is an absolute joke. THREE times in 5 matches yesterday I tethered an incoming striker titan and they still killed me. Twice I hit them dead on in the face, still able to seismic strike me before the tether took effect. It is atrocious. Not bad, atrocious.
-
Yes Teather is basically the most ignored super in the game.... seriously needs some attention, who the hell is the Teather Dev....step up bro, we need ya!

I find Supressor grenades more useful than Tether. That's just absurd. If it were me, I would have it be where you use quiver tether, it needs to one shot to the body (ofc) and you get some additional armor while firing the arrow(s). That way, it's not just a slower golden gun. For the other tree, I would increase the range of the tether and have it drain super energy. Besides that, it can actually be pretty tactical. Tether used to be one of if not the best shutdown supers back in the day and I want it returned to it's glory.

16 RespuestasIt’s brought up all the time. The other two classes always oppose it, acting like it’s already OP.
-
I don't care buff it at least it's not a roaming super
-
They won't do it because if they did then titans would complain their OEM would not help them

4 RespuestasIt's never been a super that was meant to be offensively used, hunters already have great supers for that purpose in arc, solar and void (which is more than can be said for titans for example). In D1 it shutdown supers as it should have and tethers were instant. Now a titan suppression nade is better than tether at taking enemies out of super (sad). But honestly... I had a 30 kill game with top tree tether last Iron Banner. I have a clip I saved where I came around the corner and caught 4 of the enemy team with tether and managed to shoot them all. So yeah, tether doesn't actually kill people most of the time... but it gives you the ability to kill 2-4 ppl per use if you time it right. It's actually better than blade barrage in many scenarios since they nerfed BB. Tether is probably one of The Best supers in Control pvp to use. I bet big money if an entire team of tether hunters went in Banner right now they would be entirely OP.

2 RespuestasSo you didn’t watch the armor 2.0 stream that also showed the changes to bottom tree void hunter?
-
Yes to all this. When I do use my Hunter, I solely use it for the increased movement/agility with St0mp335 and just run and gun on whatever passives I have, since Shadowshot at best will manage to cancel someone's Super _after_ they kill you. :P
-
It already is

2 RespuestasShouldn’t be a one shot but the tethering effect could come in sooner. I loathed this super in D1 because the hunter would clean out one of our teammates just hitting them then would wipe me and the other guy out because we were stuck at -1 sensitivity.
-
5 RespuestasIt's no better than a Titan's Supressor Grenade. Tether should drain Super energy. :)
-
17 RespuestasTethers get invisibility and run round with a shotgun.....a shit super sounds like a fair trade off. Oh, sorry, you want near constant invisibility AND a good super? Sounds fair... said no one ever.

1 RespuestaI'll take getting killed by direct arrows as well as faster suppression so long as the suppression stops sending my cursor all over the place. Nothing more annoying than shooting at someone just to have my gun pointing straight into the air or at the floor.
-
4 RespuestasIf Quiver was in First person like I've been suggesting on and off, it'd be oneshot to the head
-
I honestly see no problem with it the way it is. I've never had any issue with the time it takes to affect those in range (this was actually buffed a while back as well, so it pretty much insta-locks). Why does it need to kill on direct hit? It's already an AOE ability that can wreck an entire group with good placement, with the added bonus it will totally negate any super in the game, so you can use it offensively or defensively. It's situational but works perfectly fine. I think it would be used a lot more if spectral still wasn't OP.
-
It will get buffed in Shadowkeep! I guess someone didn’t watch the stream.
-
Bungie promised to do this already (long time ago) and there has been many posts about this since (forum has no search function, so...). Hopefully with October's PvP changes they will finally fulfil their promise.

I like tether and it’s all about timing, I agree it’s useless in a crutch situation but timed correctly it’s very effective :)
