Except they intentionally dont put certain items into the bright dust rotation.

  • And what’s wrong with that? They’re doing away with loot boxes and making everything direct purchases, if you expect them to sustain the game without any form of silver only micro transactions, you’re living in a fantasy world and I’d love to live there with you.

  • Youre living in a fantasy world if you think bungie needs money when the average player in this game has given them nearly 200 dollars for all its content, youre living in a fantasy if you think the removal of seasonal engrams is a good thing, thos engrams allowed people who play the game enough to get every single item from the season, I have like 2 items from this season I bought with bright dust and thats it, yet if I go into my seasonal tabs every previous season I have most if not all the items just from playing the game. Thats gone now and if you think thats a good thing youre a bootlicker.

  • This isn't a one and done campaign game. This game is coulnitually developed with content put out on a regular basis. It doesn't work anymore, the buy an expansion, and no micros thing. If you don't want to spend money on the store, dont. There are no items in there that would be normally earned in the game, they aren't taking things from the game to put in eververse, and you players who complain aren't out that so much (especially choosing one small section of a long article about many aspects of the game) just like to complain about it just to complain. It's really not as big a deal as you make it out to be. It's there if you want it, but you don't ever even have to look at it. I bet you still turn your free engrams in when you get them don't ya? Why you belly aching about it?

  • You understand for them to keep giving us things like whisper or zero hour or other side they have to have some type of monetary gain right? And with most of the game going free to play in October cosmetics are their primary way outside of their dlcs, and even then the dlcs would only cover a portion of the years content. Bungie is on its own now, unlike the previous seasons they don’t have activision to give them money, and if you honestly believe they can sustain the game without some type of monetary gain then you don’t understand how live as a service games work and you should probably go play something else.

  • It is not going free to play, just year one you still have to buy forsaken and shadowkeep and the annual pass.

  • How is that not classified as feee to play? You have all that stuff for free, and you pay for additions, almost every mmo has the base game feee to play with paid dlcs but they’re still classified as free to play.

  • No they are not, if you want to play up to date content, a majority of content, you have to pay bare minimum 30 dollars, the game is free to start not free to play. Free to play means you have access to all content in the game for free. You do not have access to all the content in destiny for free, no where near that.

  •
Relating to or denoting an arrangement in which basic access to a game is granted without charge while more advanced features must be paid for.
That’s the definition of free to play, are you sure you’re just not one of those people who’s jumping on the hate band wagon?

  • Its not a free to play game, the average player will still be giving bungie upwards of 60 dollars once they realize how limited the year 1 content is, also you can claim im on a hate band wagon all you want but I have thousands of hours in the game and im tired of seeing more and more content being taken from players and given to tess for a price.

  • Then please tell me how you expect bungie to keep this game going without any way of making money throughout the year

  • All the new players from new light buying the expansions, the -blam!- ton of money they are getting for everybody buying shadowkeep, did you like completely forget people have to pay for this game and that bungie gets money from that, not just microtransactions.

  • So you’re working under the assumption that all of the new players who are gonna play in new light are gonna buy forsaken or shadowkeep, even though there is already a fair amount of players who only have base game plus curse and warmind because they’re free, on top of that you expect bungie to be able to sustain all the major content drops as well as all the events with whatever money they happen to make from shadowkeeps release, even though they have a lot of other things to pay for on top of being able to give us content? Not trying to question your intelligence or anything, but do you know how businesses work, or how games that are advertised as a live service work?

So you also missed the part when in he said that sometimes MTX's are used to help fund SOME activities (not dlc) of the game? Heres a reminder "I'm not going to say "MTX funds the studio" or "pays for projects like Shadowkeep" -- it doesn't wholly fund either of those things. But it does help fund ongoing development of Destiny 2, and allows us to fund creative efforts we otherwise couldn't afford. For example: Whisper of the Worm's ornaments were successful enough that it paid [dev cost-wise] for the Zero Hour mission/rewards to be constructed (this shit matters!). " Spending a lil silver here and there, helps...

  • I have given bungie over 200 dollars for this game, and so have many other players, I am not saying micro transactions dont help but I do not feel like they are in dire need of them, im fine with them being in the game, I was fine with the seasonal engrams system as I could earn everything by playing, but now thats gone, I have to give them even more money to get some of these items and I wouldnt think that was such a bad thing if it wasnt for most cosmetics in the game that arent from eververse being just awful. We will never get something like the age of triumph raid armors from d1 again because you people support the eververse too much so bungie knows they can just stick all that cool stuff in there rather than making it a reward in the game like it was in the past.

Reward is power now, no longer cosmetic, times change if this what it takes then im cool with it. Ive paid over £500 for my own stuff and stuff for my friends and will gladly pay £500 more. Im happy that i now know that when brought those whisper ornaments for myself and a few friends, that it enabled them do zero hour. Means the money i invested into the game, i got back in the form of content. And thats how i see it.

  • And again you’re saying this as if they’re specifically making everything silver purchases, select things will be silver only and others will be either dust or silver depending on your preferences. If you don’t want to spend money, you spend time, that’s a fair trade and berating them for a decision like this shows you don’t understand that they can’t realistically keep supporting this game without some type of monetary gain.
