Unused Exotics
What if bungie created a poll that included exotic weapons and armor that the community thought needed to be reworked for whatever reason whether they were too good or bad? I know the forums accomplishes this to an extent, but im talking about a general means for players to easily weigh in on changes. Maybe an in game account bound voting system? There are so many old exotics that I would love to use more, because honestly many of them look really cool and fun, but they are simply useless because legendary pinnacle weapons outperform them massively. Yes we would obviously need to take power creep into account, but whatever happened to "exotics feeling exotic..."? Thanks to the recent split, bungie has more room to do things as it sees fit, so why not start with its foundation? There is no reason to create the illusion of choice when only a handful of exotics are actually viable.
Please try to keep conversation relevant. If you agree or disagree, please state your reasoning why. If you are here to troll or start an arguement, expect to be ignored. A poll may very well be the wrong direction to go on this matter. I simply wish for older exotics to become relevant again. If you have a better idea on how this may be accomplished, lets have a conversation about it.

I guess what I mean by poll is more of a means for the community to give bungie priority on what to rework. I think that many of the exotics need everything from a slight tweaking, to a complete overhaul. Currently the forums are far too chaotic for a clear message to be delivered to the devs. I believe that while there are loads of trolls and negative people on here, I also believe that there are just as many people who want to genuinely help the game via suggestions, but are overloaded with all the toxicity. The poll is intended as an easy way for everyone to weigh in on changes. As I mentioned previously, this very well may not be the correct way to go about this. If you have suggestions or ideas, please comment and start a conversation.
Note: I have received messages asking to start a mini poll of sorts as an example of how it could possibly work. Frankly I don't completely know what would be the best manner to categorize the selection, so I will create a poll for some of my ideas (just give me some time to figure out how to lol). I really appreciate everyone's response to the post and hope that this will eventually lead somewhere.

Bungie has no time to buff unused exotics. They're too busy nerfing actually good exotics-- and warlocks-- into the ground. But hey, as long as a certain streamer is happy, who cares?

Bungle already knows exactly what Exotics are garbage. If I’m remembering correctly, they once compared garbage Exotics to trash cards in a collectable card game. Simply put, “Them bein’ trash is the purpose!!!”

1 RespuestaThe thing is that all the weapons and armor are EXOTIC !!.. you won't find anything else that do what they all do the same way. Sure some have the same features but for the most part all the trace rifles are unique. The thing is that everyone wants to kill everything in .027 seconds and exotics don't need to be that. They just need to be unique. Just use what you like build around it.. I use the worm husk crown w/ my kinetic and energy that have Demolition on and most of my armor have grenade regen.. and in pve I usually have grenade to throw every 10 secs 15 at most ... Sure I'm not doing anything major to bosses but at least I get to see my favorite grenade do alot of damage . And i usually just run around with this in strikes or free roam And pvp I have a grenade to throw practically every 30 sec . It's fun and different and nice to know I'm not a meta -blam!- and like to branch out my play styles

I think that that Bungie should focus on adding new exotics to make the grind worthwhile. Having bunch of old exotics and trying to rediscover ways to make old things fun, is not really the answer. New things should already be better than old things. [spoiler]I main titan. One eyed mask is still op. But yea bottom tree striker is overpowered. A lot of hunter exotics deserve a rework. Anyone could have told them how broken Titans are, but hey they are fun to play.[/spoiler]

2 RespuestasAcross all 3 characters i have a total of 11 exotics in inventory. 3 of those are weapons, only 2 of which get swapped and used. The 3rd is thunderlord but i only used it for arc day once. The ithers are outbreak prime and truth which get switched depending on what im doing. The armor only ever changes from PvE to PvP. In PvE my warlock runs full legendary armor. My titan has insurmountable skullfort but thats because i dont have any good legendary helmets. Exotics in this game suck. They get neutered so hard its pointless to use them. In D1 they felt exotic, in D2 they feel common and 90% of my exotics just get dismantled

2 RespuestasAll bungle would have to do is pull usage stats on exotics and they would get an unbiased view of usage. If they actually played their own game they would have a feel for what makes an exotic worth equipping. Obviously that isn't happening.
