This isn’t a shit post. It’s just a... sad realization post.
I finally got the hunter legs from CoS this week, but it means nothing. I’ll only get to use them for a few more weeks before they’re left behind and I delete them.
Last time it happened with EP armor and Solstice armor.
When Curse of Osiris came out I quit this game for months, but I came back with Forsaken. I’ve taken breaks and whatnot, but I’ve generally enjoyed this game ever since. But, I just have that feeling again... why keep playing this game when loot just doesn’t matter and my time gets crapped on?
I think the changes being made to armor are good for the game, but I think Bungie should have done more to make sure our vault wasn’t wiped out again. They should have made all year 2 armor available as ornaments.
Even the cabal only destroyed our vaults once, Bungie. This is your second time in 2 years.
Edit: thanks for all the bumps. It would be cool if Bungie saw this and worked on getting all armor brought forward to 2.0. If they can turn all Eververse armor into ornaments, maybe they can do the same with all armor.
-
I thought Bungie liked recycling armor and weapons though... Alright, I got to go. I'm doing a quest to get and old exotic from D1 back now :P

4 RespuestasJust the fact that’s it’s new is why everyone should want to use it. Being better is just a bonus. Why do so many people care and want to use old stuff? If I’m paying 💰 I want new stuff.
-
100% agree
-
I'd be much more comfortable with armor 2.0 if everything in the collection or at least every ornament you already have unlocked being usable as well as eververse stuff
-
I haven't read anything that says we won't be able to infuse our current stuff up in shadowkeep or that Armor 2.0 will be any more powerful. All i've seen is that we will be able to choose perks that we want on the armor. That's it.
-
Not sure if his has been pointed out, but you are not losing your armor. It will still be functional with the perks equipped. Yes in time, you will unlock better armor, that you can then customize, but likely your best armor roles will still be useful after shadow keep launches. I really do hope Bungie puts a system into place that lets us purchase old armor we earned from collections into the armor 2.0 setup. It is a shame when old armor gets left behind when the loot system changes.

11 RespuestasBring It on. In with the new, out with the old. I like chasing new stuff.
-
2 RespuestasThey did say that not all post Shadowkeep armour would be 2.0. So really your year 2 gear will be just as useful as some of the year 3 gear, if that’s any consolation.

Well when you think about it, almost every looter shooter/MMO does this. Just look at Borderlands: When TVHM comes you need to start all over again, when you start UVHM it's a same thing. The Division when you change your World Tier, yeah get again you need to start grinding that loot. I know it s**ks, but this is how games like these work sometimes. Theres positives and negatives ofc, but this makes sure we have something to do when new content comes, ofc it would be nice to have our armor 2.0 from the get go, just that we only need to infuse our current armor or something, but i personally don't mind this route. Keeps me busy for few months just to get that lewt :)

Get gud

Yea agree... I just completed the Iron banner quests for all the armor pieces on all 3 characters... Which i was happy to do as the armor looks really cool and has enhanced perks on them... and now they're making quest's shorter and easier, and after doing the LONG version of the grind, to think they are gonna be possibly obsolete in approximately 1 month really sux... 😑👎 I remember when this happened back in D1 with The Taken King and most of the friends i started playing Destiny with since the beta quit because of it... I was gonna continue doing IB, The dreaming city and menagerie looking for those perfectly rolled pieces of armor but unfortunately it'd be a waste of time... so i won't Been waiting ages for the IB armor to get enhanced perks and be useful and i was really happy to see it happen, but my happiness was short lived as was this season... again... C'mon Bungie, bring the IB armor forward along with the solstice armor do it do it do it...

The way I see it is this. The armor is gettong a needed improvement. Thats a good thing. Of course if you like the old gear, and are happy with what it does for you. It will continue to do the same things in the future. You aren't losing anything. You just aren't gaining anything that the new stuff gets you. Also loot, as in getting loot should be important in this game. So if the new stuff is not as good as the old stuff at least in some way, nobody is going to care. However in this case, the newer stuff will be better, so getting it will mean something. This new armor will have impactful changes hopefully for the better. Which makes the sacrifice of our old armor less bitter as well.

1 RespuestaIs the armor update free or is it only accessible from the expansion?
-
9 RespuestasWe should all stop playing this game in general. Modern warfare is getting released and that will kill this game bc that game has better pvp
-
Editado por Spacejim12: 7/29/2019 11:17:54 AMIf they'll just adjust current armor sets, so there are some players who have all of them (well, I guess I have almost every Warlock set in the game right now). So they will use armor they like in the start of Shadowkeep and waiting for something new to chase. But there are nothing new to chase except exotics.=) So Bungo will force us to get all armor AGAIN to make it feel like full of content. They will add new pack of weapons, but what the point? I alrady have 150 HC, 140 HC, 180 HC and 110 HC. If new HC will not be 250 rpm HC< so why I should want it? Only cause of visuals. But I bet it will be remodel of old HC somehow. Unfortunatly, Bungie don't want to make thier game any better. Same things again and again year after year. I mean, this game already feels like session shooter. And no signs Bungie want to change it. I will buy Shadowkeep and play it for story and new location, but after this I'm done with Destiny.
-
Well, awarding power increasers instead of new gear would fix that problem, by I’ve been saying that for a while and no one wants to hear it, so I guess suck it up then!
-
So much for that 10 year plan.
-
I naturally dump my armour cosmetically anyways. I like a fresh look. Just glad the Solstice armour isn’t a waste of time this time round.
-
Editado por name: 7/29/2019 10:13:45 AMjust play through the story and quit until the next story is out, that is how i will play destiny if at all , no stupid grinding anymore
-
Editado por OdinsKnight101: 7/29/2019 9:57:02 AMFrom the 2019 Solstice of heroes page
Whatever full Legendary sets you earn now will have their new armor 2.0 versions waiting for you to pick up from the Gunsmith when Shadowkeep releases.
However they do leave out what happens to armor ''After'' that and you obtain after ShadowKeep (Mordor) releases..
-
But getting new gear is why people come back
-
3 RespuestasOh you play a looter-shooter but you dont want too loot... *sigh* Name me 1 other looter that you dont need to farm new gear with an major update? Wow? Diablo? Borderlands?
-
Y is that is someone deleting all your stuff
-
Ever look forward to the prospect of new gear? I do. Otherwise I’d stop playing when I had everything that I had wanted because I didn’t want change.
-
I agree, they could/should of made all the armour updated!
