The Astral Plane: Epilogue

After Acro's recovery from his injuries obtained during the raid on vault b, Acro strode up to his lab. As Acro entered the lab for the first time in what seemed like years he was expecting the worst. He was expecting the wake of the astral beast's rampage in his lab but was greeted with the nice clean interior that had been there when he left for the raid. Acro wandered through the lab wondering if the beasts' invasion was only a construct of his imagination, the idea was instantly thrown out the window when Acro saw Rain. She walked across the lab with the coat Acro's reflection had given her still on. The energy revolver protruded from her pocket and she still had the glove slipped onto her left hand. She hadn't noticed Acro's return yet and she furiously recorded readings off of a device. Rain heard a familiar voice call out to her from across the room, "Rain! Guess what!" Acro called out to her. Rain turned to face Acro and the two locked eyes before Rain dropped her clipboard and ran over to Acro. As Rain reached Acro, the two embraced each other like old friends. After their long silent embrace, the two pried themselves apart and noticed that everyone had been watching them Acro suggested that they talk somewhere where there would be no prying eyes. Acro and Rain sat in Acro's office and talked about everything that had happened. They talked about Rain's encounter with the Alpha beast, they talked about how the weapons Acro had given Rain felt. The mood changed when Acro told Rain about the Alpha's departing words. "Be careful," Rain said to Acro, "I don't know what I would do if that thing got you." Acro solemnly nodded to Rain before he spoke, " I'll watch my back, If that thing rears its ugly head, Ember and I will be ready." Rain looked at Acro with confusion written on her face, "Ember?" Acro put his face in his hand, "My God, I really forgot, didn't I? Let me introduce you to Ember, Rain." As Acro finished his sentence he raised a hand and a ball of light yellow astral energy began to form in between the two. Rain held her breath in astonishment as the ball began to take shape. It grew canine-like ears and a snout, a fluffy and elegant tail sprouted from its backside, and it grew four dainty legs, It was a fox with an aura of astral energy around it. Acro picked the fox up in his arms and the fox happily looked back at him and licked his face, "This, is Ember, Rain." Rain looked at Acro with a sly grin on her face, "Acro, you've sworn you were gonna get a fox for years and now you finally went and did it." Rain extended her hand and pat Ember's head, Ember looked over to Rain happily as she scratched his ears flashing his fox smile. "Yeah, I really have been blabbing about how much I love these furry little guys for a long time haven't I?" Acro responded. "You really have," Rain continued to poke at Acro, "so, is Ember all that you hoped your fox would be?" Acro looked Rain in the eyes and said: "Hell yeah he is!" The two laughed and continued their small talk for a few more hours...
Well that's it. The story is over. If people would like I can do another story. The two Ideas I have now are my backstory (before I gained astral powers) and Rain's backstory that I had given hints towards in earlier in the series. If you would like either story, let me know and I'll start to think of a few ideas while my own event and raid goes on.
