The main reason I say this is because we have 2 exotic swords, the teleportation one and the anime arc swing sword, while in d1 we had twice as many exotic swords, all I really want is a solar exotic sword that has an* use in pve

Swords were used for endgame in D1 more than they are now. I used to main Dark Drinker a lot in Strikes unless swords were a poor choice for the strike. Swords are suffering from poor lunge and aim assist. They had very strong assist and a farther lunge when attacking. This made them very consistent.

An exotic sword would be lovely. Hell in fact let us introduce three exotics of each type; one of the three being a D1 returning exotic and two being new and original designs.

I'd take an exotic Swiss Army knife lol, but seriously, would be great to have more exotic long range as well (scout, pulse, ...), that feel exotic.

1 RespuestaSwords just need to be moved to the special slot. They simply are a poor risk-reward play in PVE. Given that everything from a Cabal Phalanx to a mini-boss on up has a melee or stomp attack that can knock you halfway across the play space.....getting up close with a sword is a bad play. Shotguns to more damage from a safer distance....and get to use much more plentiful, special ammo rather than heavy ammo. Plus if you're running a sword, you've given away your ability to put a more potent, high-value target killing weapon in that slot.

10 RespuestasThe problem with swords is the role they're good at... they're good for killing trash and elites, but they're not good at killing bosses which means they have no real place in the heavy slot. The majority of heavy weapons are big boss DPSers or a combination of elite killing with decent boss damage. The other major issue is that almost every boss type enemy has some form of ridiculous stomp or pushback mechanic, it's hard enough landing a melting point or even a shotgun these days without getting 1-shot stomped or thrown halfway across the map. Swords need to either be reworked or demoted to special weapons... if I could run a special ammo sword in my kinetic slot, I'd be ALL over that

ik just the thing. Solar sword which have a perk where if you use a heavy attack mid air your character will slam the ground and cause a "shockwave" of solar energy. Anyone hit by that will receive damage and DoT effect. damage is depends on how close the targets are to the center, the closer they are the more damage they received while damage over time remains constant. The shockwave's effective range is affected by how high up in the air the player is, max effective range is about the size of a control point "hitbox". After blocking a certain amount of damage with this sword it will generate ammo for kinetic/special/power weapons with Primary ammo being the highest chance to get generated and power ammo a 5% chance of being generated in PvP (the ammo generated will not be affected by scavengers perk). For PvE use the generated ammo will be amped up by 10%-15%.

I liked the small quest we could do in D1 to get different burns. Something similar but better would be nice to see added to D2.

3 RespuestasAs much as i loved Razelighter in D! they would really need to give it some extra love to feel exotic on D2 Since the swing animation is shared by all adaptive swords. Young wolfs howl would be great but only if it was buffed. I didn't find it all that useful.
