Limiting this basic currency to meager 100k is just not good enough. It's a number and not a vault item. Just remove the limit!
Edit: Never thought this would trend but it's good to see that.
Some quick replies in context.
How do you run out of glimmer?
Apart from chests, following items cost lots of glimmer if you have multiple characters:
1. Bounties
2. Mod application (my new austringer with target adjuster or my pvp pulse with pvp specific mods). Super mods on my preferred armour.
3. Did I mention bounties?
I have been doing milestones on my characters. Hunter was ok as it was my first of week. Got bounties done and bought some glimmer for shares from spider. By the time I reached to my lock I was running low due to gambit and forge bounties but managed. By the time I reached my titan I had 200 left.
is max limit justified?
Most of the steamers also have maxed glimmer and that's it. Can't be arsed is what they say.
A new gamer asked me if there is a limit on silver. I said I don't know but reckon its unlikely as its paid for. Also you don't need a million silver to buy everything in game. He then asked why is there a limit on glimmer? I had no answer just an opinion which is this post. You can judge whether it's right or wrong.
shall we remove glimmer?
Removing glimmer is not a solution as it is a resource worth grinding for.
isn't glimmer just shoot to earn?
Exactly! It is the easiest and most abundant which makes is more likely to pile up.
am I bad at economics and don't know how to manage my glimmer and money in real life?
As far as I remember, I have never told my employees to stop making profit as my bank account cannot hold any more money. If anyone suffers from this problem with their bank account, pleas DM me, my bank manager will be glad to help setup an unlimited account for you.
am I a troll?
Not today. Ask me again tomorrow.

Glimmer is the new cores. The more we -blam!- about the limit the more Bungie will resist.
-
I maxed out my chalice with not even opening the stupid chest, also have a large surplus of runes.
-
29 RespuestasBounties should not cost glimmer and should not expire. Change my mind.

7 RespuestasFirst time glimmer has been a factor in the game whastsoever and everyone loses their minds. Just go buy some from Spider. And then once your Chalice is fully upgraded, never worry about it again. Smh
-
8 RespuestasLol insert "but if there is no limit glimmer will have no value" arguments. Would love for them to get rid of the glimmer cap...it is especially annoying now as all the Werner chests cost 5k glimmer. Doubt this will ever change tho.
-
2 RespuestasIm new player been power leveling heroic event and maxed on glim what should i spend it on?
-
y'all realise that if they increase the glimmer cap then they're gonna increase glimmer costs too. it's already happened once when we got the cap pushed up to 100k. why do you think it wont happen again?
-
I think Bungie is run by a bunch of scared kittens. There I said it! I won't take it back! Oh, yeah, I'm a real bad boy! I said they were comparable to the cutest things on the planet with a level of fear! Muhaha!!! Muhaha! Hmm... okay, I take it back. This being rude thing is too hard.
-
But....but how else will we make you grind???------Sincerely, Bungie.
-
If they added another zero to the cap, that would help negate this problem to near non-needed. Alternatively, they could double the cap and that would also be of great benefit
-
I’ve been saying this since the first month of D1. Its idiotic to have a glimmer cap of 100k. Maybe 1 million. But not anything less. Even then I’d still like no cap at all. Until you hit 9,999,999
-
2 RespuestasAdmit it. You just wanna save this ghost
-
1 RespuestaSame opinion, they dont have to remove the limit from my perspective but making it a larger number would be great, a friend of mine just started playing D2 and now, 2 days later, he is already at 100k.
-
2 RespuestasIf they can’t make it infinite the should raise the cap to 250k-300k to help make the game less of “Dude do you wanna glimmer farm?” and more of “Hey dude look at my armor!”
-
1 RespuestaYes!!!
I also made the Bumps 469 😉😏
-
5 RespuestasI agree with this post my fellow gaurdian, However... 1. It would cost them game storage which is very limited 2. It would be alot to implement a infinite glimmer. 3. There will be exploits! Thanks!

1 RespuestaFrom the looks of it the issue is more that you can spend it far faster than you can earn it. Increasing the cap only works around this in the hope that players have been stockpiling it until they reached whatever caused them to spend it so rapidly. You would simply be at the same point cap or not. The cap is fine, it's just the game isn't focused on glimmer and so there's this problem that no one is paying any attention to. Also the cap keeps the grind to a sort of minimum, and forces players to engage with other aspects of the game rather than trivializing it. I can't say I feel sorry for people that don't want to play a game, and especially when grind was damn near demanded.

2 RespuestasIt is time
do it
-
tl;dr no point dont bother bungie.
-
2 RespuestasAgree but Spider bounties make it less painful. His exchange is fair as well. 150K would be appreciated tough....
-
I logged in d1 the other fay and was kinda surprised and happy to see my handcanon weekly bounty still being around 25kills done even after 2 years XD.
-
4 RespuestasI'll remove your limit 😘
-
4 RespuestasIt’s clear you don’t understand the economic principles as to why glimmer is capped. If glimmer was to be unlimited, Vendors could get away with selling items for absurd prices that would require weeks to accumulate. If anything, a solution to your “problem” is to make glimmer not transcend between characters; each of them having their own 100k stash and purchases on each character don’t affect the glimmer on separate characters.
-
7 Respuestas100,000 doesn’t really seem like that much when some of the upgrade costs are like 9000 per.
-
14 RespuestasResources need limits, it is called an economy. I can only imagine how awful your real world budgeting and money matters must be if you can’t stay in the black in a video game. Yikes.
