First of all: why do you need every weapon in the game? If you really urge for hording stuff, go and collect Pokémon or Action figures or cars or stamps... What you and this guy are suggesting is getting rid of all the competitvness in the game. A lot of people play games BECAUSE of the competitvness and would go to play other games if there wouldn't be at least ONE mode that remotely resembles what they know from competitve ESport - getting feedback on how well you perform and seeing your skills improving and getting rewarded. Since we have no in-game league system, trials or leaderboards, the only motivation is the illusion of competitvness that comes with getting these pinnacle weapons. If you are devaluating them by making them free to all, you can be sure that your PvP population would quit to other games. (The Broadsword caused an enormous uproar and Bungie will never do that again). You could then continue to focus on hording stuff by mindlessly killing trash in the easy PvE content instead of improving your skills against real human opponents. PS: Since you mentioned caring about bad players "feelings" - A competitve mindset (that is required to succeed in any PvP game) requires to take all what it needs to achieve victory and not to care about others feelings if they lose. Also to value good performances of others and to learn from them and this is what the guy we are talking about clearly isn't understanding, observing his attitude and his loadouts.

 •
the illusion of competitvness
That's all it is: an illusion. This game has Peer-to-Peer matchmaking and with latency/lag there isn't as much skill involved as some think. Matches favor the host team the majority of the time. That's why one match you can go 23-4, then go 4-23 the next, then go 10-10 the next, etc... It's not consistent enough to support a ranked game mode. It's crazy the pvp sweats take themselves more seriously in this game than any other game I've ever saw. Like with Not Forgotten (and 21% Delirium), all those "pinnacle" weapons (Luna, Moutaintop, Recluse) should have been rewards for hitting "Legendary". "Fabled" isn't the pinnacle of anything, but getting rewarded for being mediocre makes most players think they are better than they really are. They should do like D1 and auto-complete those quests if any progression was made at the start of a new season since they were participation ribbons for hitting "Fabled" and not the pinnacle rank of "Legendary".

 • I agree, fabled is mediocre, but to go all the way to Legend seems like a waste of time. There should be another one in between them. I also agree that the networking is a big issue. Let's hope they will introduce dedicated servers for PvP and 60fps in D3.

 •
all the way to Legend seems like a waste of time
Apparently the devs agreed, but "Legendary" is the pinnacle. Luna's would never have been a problem if it wasn't there for "fabled", only Not Forgotten would have been there for "Legendary".
