2 - 3 Cores, which is harder to get on purpose and requires chores or a materials cheese with Vance to effectively grind, and THREE OTHER CURRENCIES on top of it. Way too expensive for a base mechanic.

 • I get around 10 cores per day without Vance cheese just by playing the game & breaking down armour and guns I don't like. Clan milestone also offers 7 cores per character every week. Spider I buy 2 per day. I get around 80-100 cores per week. I do understand RNG to be a factor though. Most of my armour drops are Tier 4 and reward me one core for breaking them down. I have 250+ saved for opulence season. I also won't spend any until I hit max light. I only ever seem to need Max light when doing New raids or when Iron Banner rolls around. I only infuse shit I'm gonna need

 •
I also won't spend any until I hit max light. I only ever seem to need Max light when doing New raids or when Iron Banner rolls around. I only infuse shit I'm gonna need
This right here is the whole crux of the thing. You could infuse far more freely, not just "shit you're gonna need" and only after you "hit max light" if it weren't for the more restrictive system introduced in Forsaken with the addition of Cores. Now you're in a position to where you need to save a stockpile of Cores to make sure you've got enough going into Opulence because we have to deal with another light level hike. None of that would be necessary anymore with the removal of Cores from the cost of Infusion. You'd be far more free to experiment with builds and guns as you reached 750, without need to stockpile anything, if Cores were no longer a factor in Infusion. That's how it was since the inception of the Infusion concept to before Forsaken. More player freedom, more player choice, less chores.
I get around 10 cores per day without Vance cheese just by playing the game & breaking down armour and guns I don't like.
That is an impressive yield. Does this count Scrapper and Spider bounties, or are you really pulling that much out of smashed gear? And can I respectfully ask how long you play every day? If this does count Scrapper and Spider bounties than you're doing the aforementioned chores I previously talked about. You wouldn't have to do either unless you were grinding to Masterwork if Cores weren't part of Infusion.
Clan milestone also offers 7 cores per character every week.
This is 100% reliant on having a Clan. Not everyone does. And, again, wouldn't be necessary at all if not for the fact that Cores were shoved into Infusion to pad out a grind.
I get around 80-100 cores per week. I do understand RNG to be a factor though. Most of my armour drops are Tier 4 and reward me one core for breaking them down.
Again, an impressive yield. I can't possibly see how one could earn that many unless they play a LOT and also raid a lot. 95% percent of the playerbase has never finished a single raid so that cannot be reliably counted on as a source for Cores. For those who play casually, they might net maybe 5 - 10 a week, more if a player like that dedicated what play time might be available solely to doing chores as opposed to playing what he wanted to play. And, again, I would point out that all of the above would be obviated if Infusion costs were returned to their pre-Forsaken prices. Masterworking should require a grind. It is my personal position that Infusion should not be on the same level as Masterworking. I'm glad Cores are not a problem for you. They're the single most fun sucking thing in this game so I am happy that you are free to enjoy the game the way I did before Cores were introduced into Infusion.
