The lure of those weapons, Luna, Not Forgotten, Recluse, Redrix Broadsword is always there. Everytime I tell myself to not give up, but the matchmaking is unbelievable. Of every 20 matches, I get 1 good winning match, 2 very balanced matches that are closed matched although ending in defeats, the rest are pure walkovers for the opponents. I even get matched into a 2v4 or 3v4 match to opponents advantage and to add on to that challenge, our understaffed fireteam are facing very strong and coordinated opponents...
Bungie, if this is the way to tell casuals like myself that I can only be matched to grunts alike facing Monday Night Raw's superstars, I get your message loud and clear. Casuals should really stay away from PVP.
I thank you for the latest Whisper-like quest that really injected some life back into the game, you deserve credit for the well crafted quest that is Zero Hour. However, your PVP is really toxic these days. Since season of the forge, I've already noticed the increasing difficulty in PVP, came the current season, it's really becoming unplayable.

Since it's clear the balance of PvP is never going to be taken seriously, I personally don't understand the point in locking certain weapons solely behind Competitive at all. There's really no point of it in a loot based game. The bigger problem is that randomized loot has no place in a game that still continues to add powerful static guns like Luna and Recluse into the loot pool.
-
It’s also no place for mercy! But it does need some type of player protection for newer players.

5 RespuestasVanilla D2 Quickplay had sbmm and all the top tier players complained and complained. In response Bungie removed sbmm and now the top tier players complain about how sweaty Quickplay has become. All the so-called casuals or new players have fled.

2 RespuestasThe pinnacle weapons definitely seem to have put a very large power gap between a lot of players.

3 RespuestasEditado por blade329: 5/16/2019 4:55:51 PMCompetitive is designed for team play, so solo players are at a serious disadvantage. For some reason, Bungie continually puts PvP weapons behind the Competitive firewall. They want already good players to have an even bigger advantage. It's a bad idea. A solo casual player in Quickplay, is behind the 8-ball as well, since he's likely facing pinnacle weapons that he/she is unable to get. This kind of imbalance just chases away players. The casual guys will get tired of being punching bags, and the hard core will get bored. Saw it happen in the Division 1 Dark Zone. The hard core guys chased away the casuals and got bored over the lack of targets. The DZ became empty and unused.

3 RespuestasDespite what the die hard players say video games are bought to be enjoyed. There is nothing enjoyable about getting killed every ten secs by people who probably paid 200 dollars to recoverers to get their gun. There is nothing enjoyable about something that feels like work (not just a challenging game but like actual labour). Games are to be enjoyed not suffered through. I would have stopped playing this ages ago if I hadn't found a chill clan who aren't a holes about the game and actually help. These forums are just full of toxicity from people who enjoy stomping on easy players not defending their "challenges" but just purely stomping on people. Whenever someone like you posts a very valid observation you get told "destiny has no place for people like you" that is ridiculous it is a video game not real life. As someone who has paid money for a game you should be able to play it how you like and not get torn apart for it. The easiest solution for this is either to remove the quest for the pinnacle weapons and make them obtainable by simply playing the game not having to beat targets that are nearly impossible for casual players or solos, or have it set up so you get matched with players of your own experience level in comp and those who are greatly above you aren't in the pool of players but are with their own. If the die hards are looking for an actual challenge this shouldn't be an issue as the only way to have a challenge is to play those of your skill level or higher but as I said it seems like they just like being superior in qp by showing off their "skills"

I dont play Crucible unless there is something I want (like Thorn) that requires it, and even then every minute is nothing I enjoy. I've played twice the amount of CoD in the last 2 weeks that it takes to earn the Redrix, Lunas, and Recluse. CoD is not always fun, 20% of my lost gunfights are due to the other player lagging, and Activison has implemented the scummiest microtransaction system in history. So why do I play it? Because my progress towards whatever it is I'm working on is always moving forward.

9 RespuestasI literally feel the same. I'll never get lunas howl or mountain top, because I'm just not good enough. I'm competent, not good enough to carry or be matched against teams. It's a shame, I go in thinking "maybe this time", then get hammered into oblivion

19 RespuestasAs a solo player I agree PVP is no place for a casual solo player. I don’t have an issue with getting beat in a well balanced match by a better team / player. I do have an issue with the non stop bullshit cheating that goes on everyday. Here are a few examples from the past week that I experienced in comp...... 1) weapons mods - blast furnace machine gun, Mida Multi tool with explosive rounds, shotgun sniper rifle (killed with a shotgun from across the map), 4 round burst Ace of Spades, opposing player had thorn and jotuun equipped...... 2) hacking - back to back to back supers (blade barrage), lag switching, opponents taking zero damage (3 teammates shooting opponent who was 1 shot and could not kill him) opponent hidden behind object making headshots , melee through walls, grenades through walls, shooting through walls...... 3) network manipulation - nova bombed opponent who ran right through it, shield bashed opponent 2 times and 1 shield throw did not kill him, rocket and grenades launchers having zero affect on opponents......etc It’s super annoying and beyond frustrating to play in this kind of environment. If I wanted to play Black Ops 4, I would play Black Ops 4

Honestly i don't know how you fix it. There's always gonna be better people than you. You really have to focus on your build, what works and what doesn't. I'm not great, i think i have a 1.16 kd or something, but i did start having more fun once i sat back and said ok, how am I getting outsmarted, what are they using and what do i need to do to counter that. If you actively try different gear and guns and go through the pain of trial and error, it will get better and easier. It'll at least get tolerable.

The lure of these weapons, Luna, Not Forgotten, Recluse, Redrix Broadsword is by design. It is the only thing that tempts normal people into playing Cruci-crap. Without that shiny object hanging out there the normal people would be abandoning Cruci-crumble by the 100's of thousands and then the Pub stomping elitists would be forced to play against each other.

1 RespuestaSince when has pvp ever not been toxic?
I genuinely want to know. I don't play it often anymore.
-
Nah I would t bother mate. I’m unbroken n I’ve grown to resent crucible. You just can’t have fun anymore. Luckily I’ve never touched PvE so it’s a whole new world for me that I’m enjoying but I totally sympathise with the casual players. This game has become a toxic cesspit.
-
Totally agree - I play a decent amount of PvP but it's no place for a solo, non-regular player to have fun. Playing with your clan or even LFGing make such a huge difference, not necessarily in getting great players, but avoiding the potatoes who keep you spawn trapped or go 1-20. Most QP solo games you get huge pressure to carry your team b/c at least half of them are getting non-stop farmed. It makes you play sweaty and stressed instead of just having fun because if you don't give maximum effort, you'll get blown out and that always sucks. So sorry to casuals who get farmed when I play with my clan, but it's the only way to fool around and play with 70% attention.
-
I'm sorry, did you just whine about redrix?
-
Completely disagree. I maybe play 2-3 times a week for 2-3 hours. Qp mainly unless for a gun(outbreak). Solo, and I have a blast. I get stomped and I stomp. Pvp is fine, just play your cover
-
Which is also stupid for the "pvp experts" because now if there are less and less casuals - 90% of their games going are going to be sweatfest for them because that will make it Monday Night Raw vs Monday Night Raw (lul) Is that the intended notion here? Make pvp feel like forced SBMM because no one else plays or bothers?
-
15 Respuestastbh, as someone with not forgotten, maybe they should just remove the whole concept of pvp pinnacle weapons entirely. it breeds a pretty shitty community, and in some ways has become worse than trials elitism. If I drop a match because I'm tired, or just playing like dogshit (like with this iron burden crap), I get bagged, and shittalked constantly. People are kind of just complete arseholes, especially if they're jealous arseholes.
-
I have people in my clan with .7 .6 k/d. Who have earned there Luna and redux reclues. Get out there and get it. Use lfg for -blam!- sake
-
Whisper and zero hour has no place for casual
-
Not sure how good you are but I've just limited myself to fabled each season. Cant get past 3.5k but I'm also only a ~1.0k/d player. Its definitely possible for all but you have to dedicate the time to get the skills and knowledge down. More advice, LFG and do it with people within a few hundred glory of yourself as to keep games as fair as possible since that's how they matchmake now. Even if you aren't a top performer as long as the team is winning majority of games I've found no one really cares and for Gods sake play as a team. If you do those things you can get these weapons. I recommened soloing and playing rumble a bit. That's what has worked for me at least. Play to your games strong suits as well (PC or Console)
-
As soon as you mentions redrix I realised this was a troll post...
-
QP should have team based match making. The system should rank players in total on a team and find solo players and team them up together or find other stack teams and match them together. CBMM is the problem in QP. Comp is totally different. I'm ok at PVP, have pinnacle weapons, and I have been in QP matches and have gotten stomped on. QP match making is broken in its current state.
-
6 RespuestasQP really needs skill based matchmaking. And also a solo only lobby so if you're running solo you don't go up against sweaty fireteams. I think this would be pretty good for casual players just looking to have some fun with PvP.
-
Ya it does the problem is we have 2 consistent playlists that don't feel the same at all. 1.You have quickplay that has a more team player approach we're you just pop off and play at a faster pace. 2...Then you have comp which is a slow cautious approach...(Survival and demo) With good super management winning games.. 3. What we need is a competitive playlist with the quickplay only ruleset. So players can just slay out against players the same rank.. Casuals can play a mode at low ranks that requires less teamwork. Hardcore players can slay out without having a 4 stack
