I really don't think that the small minority of players who actually own LH and NF are the "Destiny community"

Do you play crucible? Everyone and their mother has a Luna now, especially since you can grind out Fabled in less than a day now.

However, your logic is very flawed (and biased, coming from an LH user, lol), if you're taking the pvp population running around in crucible with LH to represent the "Destiny community" (lol) ... or if you think that the only players who would actually like to find some enjoyment in Crucible/comp are the LH/NF ego stompers. Maybe do a little research before you make such strong claims? On destinytracker.com, for instance, of 14.3 million tracked users, only 404k played crucible yesterday--and that's with Iron Banner currently up, which naturally draws in many who wouldn't normally play Crucible (let alone comp). That's only 2.82 percent of D2 players who played crucible--even with Iron Banner up! Comp--where you say everyone and their mother has a Luna" is an even smaller slice of Crucible. This is the problem, due largely to the wild imbalance produced by LH and NF. Bungie is simply taking a reasonable step to make crucible and comp more appealing to the majority of their paying playerbase.

Last I checked Luna's was owned by about a third of the light.gg guardians. Assuming this is a decent sample composition (since a large portion of people use the site to check random rolls, it is likely a good sample composition), about half of those guardians regularly play crucible, which means well over half of regular crucible players own Luna's Howl.

Couldn't find that number, but Luna's is the #9 most used Crucible weapon according to Destiny Tracker, which I believe tracks all Guardians. Definitely indicative of a majority of the regular PVP population owning it. If that isn't enough, do a Crucible weekly. You will have at least half of the people in those matches owning Luna.

No one but the >2% (if it's even that high) of Destiny players who have LH are playing crucible, since they've made it a completely unappealing and unenjoyable experience for the remaining 98% of the Destiny playerbase (and I think most people would agree that 98% is far more representative of the "Destiny community" than 2%). I looked and couldn't find it either. However, the fact that it ranks me 1,582 in Crucible (lol) tells me the total number of tracked guardians is very low.

This includes people from the F2P events on PC and PS4, as well as people who have stopped playing for various reasons. The 404k that played Crucible yesterday and the 467k that played PVE are not mutually exclusive numbers either. There is not 14 million daily Destiny players. I can't think of any game's servers that could handle that TBH.

Not only that, dtr counts Gambit as PvP. If you'd like a more accurate number, guardian.gg, would be a source. I've been told there is even a site out there that breaks it down per platform. Which would surprise people if they saw it I'm sure.

You mean all the Destiny Dads were crying over it? And bloom affects all weapons on controller, not just hand cannons. Hand cannons are just the biggest example of why bloom is a bad mechanic. Not to mention recoil of many weapons on a controller is unbearable. And why is kid an insult? I've never understood that.

You should check out the various destiny and crucible subreddits sometime. There are far more "scrubs" that complain about bloom and recoil than people who complain about the weapons themselves. Bloom lets luck decide the winner of a gunfight, not skill. If you want to win or lose your gunfights by luck, be my guest, but at least know your stuff before making claims like you are making.

You think few people have Luna or Not Forgotten (maybe true for NF, but everyone and their dog has a Luna at this point), and you think bloom in its current state doesn't make gunfights a luck-of-the-draw decision about who wins or not.
