Must have missed faction rallies.
The factions are 3 different belief systems that normally split the guardian population.
Future War Cult- you saw their leader. They are a bunch of war crazed crazies. They are afraid of a war that is combing to us. Essentially they want to kill everyone who they think could become a threat to us, before they even did anything. There were a few rumors(provided by our ghost btw) flying around that the cabal didn’t actually want to fight us, we started a fight with them. Basically imagine walking up to the cabal(who are acting friendly) and start shooting them all.
Dead orbit- their leader, arach jalaal, is right underneath the future war cult. They are a bunch of cowards and wimps. They fear the same war that future war cult believes in is coming, but they also believe we can’t beat it and that we should leave the solar system. Another major belief point(this was on the top of their list of beliefs) is that the Traveler is never going to wake up and we are on our own. Now why they still exist with their number one belief proven wrong, I have no clue.
New monarchy- their leader is on the other side of the tower, next to hawthorn. They believe we need good leadership in charge of the people... that is it. Really the talking points are on what type of government. Which their name implies as a monarchy.
If you go to the bannerfall map are green flags around that belong to another faction, the concordat. During the faction wars they started a rebellion against the city(I think it was actually the speaker) and they eventually got destroyed. The vanguard thought that having just two factions would not be enough so that is when future war cult joined the others in the tower(they were previously one of the most popular factions among the city and the vanguard let them into the tower) if you want more info on the concordat you would have to ask someone else, I never understood that part of the lore to a great extent.
Edit: I put the wrong faction

FWC aren't "war crazed crazies", they just want to take the fight to the darkness rather than just sit and wait for it.
-
Yes, but calus doesn’t want to fight us. If they were in charge they would attack calus straight on.
-
I do disagree with them on that point, but they are preferable to an authoritarian regime and a bunch of emo spacceboys.
-
Well, a regime could be overthrown. I think we need a government. Whether that be the vanguard, the consensus, etc.(not one person)
-
While I agree that a government is needed, I don't like the New Monarchy's idea of it. I also don't think that the FWC should control the City, only the military operations outside of it. In my mind the Consensus would serve as the House, the Vanguard as the Senate, and the Speaker (if we get a new one) as president. I just like the FWC military goals (aside from attacking Calus, he's a cool dude).
-
I would be cool with that plan. As long as the people continue to support the three factions. But I personally think that fwc is too offensive. They attack before even knowing if the other side is hostile. If you remember the cabal on mars(d1) didn’t actually want to fight the guardians, but we started shooting them.
-
Well, I just hacked into their base, I don't know if that justified their phalanxes to smack me into a wall... Besides, Mars= Our territory, and they built military bases on it. Seems pretty hostile to me. Also, they are known for being a giant warlike empire of space rhinos.
What does kindergarten have to do with this? Ilittle rally just have a history and government lesson
Ment to put this under original post lmfao my bad my dude
-
Nah you are good. Happens more often that you would think
-
It was the FWC that joined the Consensus after the Faction Wars, not New Monarchy
-
Oh, sorry my bad. I’ll fix it
-
I’m sensing bias. The New Monarchy wants to establish an authoritarian regime, and if you pay close attention in the tower, they seem to be pretty repressive (some civilian voice lines imply a secret police), so they are just as messed up as the other two, which is the whole point to the faction system.
-
Utah I disagree with all of them but I’m closest to new monarchy. I think a government is necessary, but that is all. The other two are cowards and war crazed
-
That faction was the concordat.
-
I’ll mention that
