Bungie splits with Activision, Eververse gets worse

First they removed the prismatic facet. Why? Because it got you more eververse crap for free, that's why. Do you like the new Prime / Reckoning weapons? If you want all of them you're gonna have to pay up. Turns out the "exclusive" items Bungie were talking about are just there to urge completionists to give them more money. This is not like selling an exotic ornament or two, this is predatory psychology. Shameful.

  • Now. Activate your brain first. Thinking is the second task. So bungo lost millions of dollars because they lost activision. And you expect them to give you everything for free and don't make money? Wow. I said it from the beginning that €v€rv£r$€ was bungie's thing. Bungie destroyed the game.

  • Eververse is fine now. Considering there are other items in game to get now.

  • Every season, I look forward to seeing what eververse has. I wasn't that thrilled with anything this time around. Guess I'll just build up more bright dust for... something. And I still haven't found anything to use that annual pass silver on.

You know, if Bungie actually used Everevers as it's intended purpose this game would have been a hell of a lot better off. In D1 it was said to help support the live team along with updating the existing content etc... Do you know what the live team did? They used it as it's intended purpose. https://www.vg247.com/2016/04/19/destinys-april-12-update-everything-you-need-to-know/ No people, this is not about whether the update was free or not. This is about them actually updating the game as it should have been that Bungie has barely done with D2. Look at what was actually offered that was actually updated. Then the live team took things further improving the game with ROI moving the game forward. This Annual Pass didn't improve the game and it doesn't matter if the Annual pass was meant for that or not. Bungie should have been working on an actual update updating the exciting content period, by using Everevers as it's intended purpose. They had all them studios working with them the entire time D2 has been live, that was more then enough to actually update the game getting it to move forward. Think about this for a moment. Eververse has never missed a beat with each DLC that has been released. Eververse gets a full fresh inventory that happens to be a rotating inventory. Yet every other vendor in this entire game is neglected. I don't care what anyone says, 1 or 2 weapons here and there is (not updating the vendors.) The money that is made from Eververse should be applied to this game updating the existing content keeping thing relevant. The problem is, that's not what is actually going on.
Tess should not be the one handing out cosmetics like ships and sparrows. What is the purpose of having Amanda Holliday if she is not ever used as her intended purpose? See, in D1 y1 when patrolling or whatever Bungie added the schematics that you would acquire here and there that you would bring back to Amanda Holliday to get a ship. ( the unknown ) is what gave that incentive in wanting to acquire them. Now? They are handed out like candy that no one gives a diddly-squat about them that literally removed that incentive. Then there are the ornaments that Tess hands out like candy and once again, that incentive was removed on wanting to acquire them. In D1 Bungie's live team created ( a fun way to acquire them. ) Bungie's live team created the raids weekly challenges that served a real purpose and that was to give gamers that incentive to run the raids that gave unique ornaments worth acquiring.
I only gave 2 examples and just them 2 examples made a would of a difference in how D1 was played that gave that incentive to want to play the game. I will never stop believing this that Imo it's the truth. How the in-game content is designed in any game is what is more important than anything else when playing any game. The incentive that Bungie's live team created for D1 by using what the game was created for later on made the game worth the time spent playing. I can not stress this enough that without that incentive, it doesn't matter how many events Bungie creates, it will never improve this game at all. Bungie needs to stop using Eververse as they have been and use what they make up in money and apply it throughout the entire game updating the existing content. So, by doing that it will help keep a lot of things in this game relevant when it comes to the in-game content.

      • 1. Eververse crap still drops for free. 2. There are no prime/reckoning weapons tied to eververse. 3. Yes there are exclusive eververse items that can only be purchased with real money.... Like that other game... What was it called? 🤔 Ah right Destiny 1

        • Anyone who thought MTX's would die down or go away with the split was an utter fool. This is only the beginning. Expect MTX's to get worse. Something has to pay for the game. At least people can feel slightly better just giving Bungie money verses Activision -- even though I think Bungie is equally to blame for the mess this game is.

Your argument immediately fell flat when you said that we had to buy Prime and Reckoning weapons. You have a mental deficiency and should probably take a break from this website

Ok, while op is obviously wrong about weapons being sold in Eververse, it doesn't bold well for the game when your microtransaction vender gets a fresh reset every season when every vender minus Shax and Zavala are still selling the same exact stuff that they were selling almost two years ago. I understand that video games are difficult to develop, but most of these issues could have been avoided when this game was being developed.

              • Bungie are just plain incompetent at this point, you may be better off directing your feedback towards someone like Unkown player or Datto or the likes. Maybe just slip in a D2 feedback request amongst the video replies for example ;)

                  • I don’t think it’s predatory, but I remember in D1 being impressed when people had cosmetic items you could only get from completing certain in-game activities. At the launch of D2, all sparrows, ships and shaders - with the exception of Calus shaders and a couple pastel world shaders (and the trials of the nine shaders) - were part of the microtranscaction store. This is one of the changes that partially ruined the game for me. Grinding for bright engrams was endgame. And while I have never purchased anything from eververse in D2, I can’t stop other people from feeding their money into bungies slot machine, and that only incentivizes them to focus more on the micro transaction economy in the future. I know “if you don’t want this type of game, play a different game”, and I’m being a hypocrite for not “boycotting” D2 for all the gripes I have with it, but the gameplay is fun and I like playing with my friends. I just wish there were more cosmetic rewards and changes we could make that we didn’t have to rely on the eververse economy for.

                      • I maybe paid for silver 2 times in the entire time Eververse has existed. I still don't see why it bothers people so much. None of those cosmetics do anything.

                        • Wrong. You are so absolutely wrong. And guess what they have the right to sell whatever they want in their game, it is your choice to buy or not buy it. This is not a new thing.
