Stop telling us not to infuse in the forum

If you are one of the jack wagons out there saying "derp just don't infuse until you reach max light derp" you are just not getting it. That isn't a solution or a fun way to play. It is the equivalent of shrugging at a stupid idea and saying "oh well what can ya do?" Also, just as dumb is the "infusion cores are easy to get" No, they aren't. Getting cores on a regular basis is multi-step torture: Do dumb activities on a lonely planet for ghosts. Get a dumb bounty and sit on a planet doing nothing but watching for an HVT to pop up. Hope to get a shot at at it. The bounties should be obtainable with planetary materials or glimmer. And the bounties should be in game activities or events.

  • An hour or two of gameplay yesterday gave me over 10 cores. Try playing the game instead of spending all your cores and demanding more when you barely even play.

They don't get it because you're using the wrong argument for why they need to go. The major problem with them is that they're required for both Masterwork AND Infusion, making the current economy for them inefficient. We have to forgo Masterworking our gear (which was the original purpose for the Enhancement Cores in the first place) to save up for Infusion instead. As long as they stubbornly insist on Enhancement Cores being used for both, the only solution is to make Cores more available via activity completions, rather than just limited and RNG sources. Adding Enhancement Core, or Finest Matterweave, drops to Strikes, Heroic Public Events, Lost Sectors, and High Value Target chests, would be the best way to go about it. Or, if we could come to some sort of other compromise, lowering the cost for Infusion by 1, or removing them from Masterworks, and allowing Masterworks to progress through XP/weapon usage like the Exotic Catalysts.

      • The only thing worse than "core chores" is having to depend on RNG. I'd rather spend my time playing the game for fun.

        • Solution. Sale them in EVERVERSE. Those that have time can grind for them, those that have higher priorities can spend silver on them. Win-Win. They don't break the game that way either. Boom.

How is the solution not a solution? If you spend 30 cores a day infusing then that’s your fault if you run out. There is almost no point to infusing anything anyways.

            • A solution i have is a solution we had in destiny 1 for these types of currencies. Is to let people buy them at a set price of 10-15 shards a piece from xur. We had this with exotic shards in destiny 1 basically the same exact thing as masterwork cores except it was used only for infusion and making year 1 exotic upgrade to year 2. They only dropped from dismantling exotics so bungie decided before releasing exotic shards to have them sold by xur for a couple strange coins. It was a good system and as long as you played normally (not super hardcore) you could earn strange coins to get exotic shards. Also i would like to point out that exotic drop rates at the end of destiny 1 was at a really reasonable rate and in a VERY good place. I dont know why bungie refuses to follow by example of their own game neither do i know why bungie refuses to release free content like they used to considering they make bank on eververse believe it or not. I mean just think about this, even if 1 out of 50 people thats still alot. So lets go with that and say 700,000 people in total are playing destiny in general on all platforms and game modes, if 1 out of 50 people pay 50$ a season 14,000 people would be paying 50$ a season which would be XD 700,000$ a season (wow what a twist) What I’m saying is that bungie make bank from eververse wether or not you spend money on it or not people still buy it. So why do we no longer get April updates and such? And why are bungie ignorant of everything they already did in destiny 1? I really have no clue.

            • Personally I think they need a system where they give five just for logging in and doing 3 bounties. That's like 10-20 minutes of play time. It gives casuals the incentive to play more. My problem is looking how I want with the perks I want, because the gear I pick up never look as good as the perks. It's like the ugliest thing gives me the best perks. SMH

              • It fixes your problem, so you decide to whine because it's not exactly how you want it. Sure, you won't look very fashionable for a few weeks. But you'll be saving cores, and won't run into economy problems. You're essentially burning money and then complaining that everything costs too much.

Once you are 650 there isn’t one activity besides Reckoning 2&3 that requires you to be any higher than 650. Unless you are in some rush to burn through the content, you don’t need to infuse stuff past 650 right away. Cores are dumb but they really don’t effect anything after 650.

                • I just infuse my favorite stuff as I go, then I have my preferred loadout(s) at highest light, then once I'm max light, I infuse the rest based on how much I like it. If you dont infuse and just leave your highest ligh stuff in the vault or in an unused slot, you play at a lower level. As opposed to having the same overall max light, and playing at a higher level with the stuff you like most. Agreed, though, that once your light is above the advantage cap, infusion is kinda pointless.

The main thing is it creates diametrically opposite experience of the game. A player playing from a couple of hours to more daily (a dedicated to hard core player, in short) has indeed interest not to infuse until max light. Its annoying, but within 4 to 5 weeks of the dlc, just playing various milestones to level, said player will be max light and have in the process gathered quite a bit without thinking of it. For the more casual player though... Power level progression has been done so hardcore don't get to max power in the first week. As a side effect, casuals may not even reach max power before the end of a season... ->telling them to wait to be max power to infuse equates to tell them they can almost never run end game content (pve or pvp) with their preferred set up, knowing that they will already have a harder time than most due to being often slightly under levelled. -> telling them to stop moaning and do spider bounties also ignores the fact this will come at the cost of their lower progression. If they have to spend some of the smaller game time they have on it so they have enough to infuse gear, it means they will use less of the ir time to increase their power... Hence they should wait even longer to infuse since this will also delay when (if they ever do) reach max light. -> the other effect it has it that it makes pve end game population smaller. I used to lfg raids lots. I used to teach clan mates the raids with some friends. Now those clan mates that would like to learn the raids are still far beyond light wise for it to be an enjoyable experience for them. I am not saying easy, I am saying enjoyable. Please bungie return Masterwork cores and get rid of enhancement cores. It will benefit the game and will not hurt anybody playing experience. Those who have loads will still have the advantage they can masterwork weapons at will, which is a good benefit (all them orbs). .

                  • Why do all these posts assume their opinion of what is best or fun is some sort of universal truth? We saw what happens when Bungie gives in and caters to the casual or lazy player demands and it was the worst Destiny has ever been.

                    • At least in season of the Drifter you could care less about infusion. I mean, I still use my old guns and armor with 650 power, and new 674 just stay in my inventory. Easy as hell. But yes, infusion looks stupid.

                    • My question to your statement is this. Why are you infusing along the way? What value has it in your game play? lets say 650 to 656 infusion or 658. Some of those early light drops. What will infusion of those items into go to items do for your character? There are so few areas where such a bump would have an impact on the game play. I have only infused items that cost me only glimmer. Same item infusions. It is a shame with things like Iron Banner and such but it is just the best work around we have for an unresponsive developer. That is what Bungie is and what they are likely to continue to be. The only time I have ever seen them even act as though they are responsive is when they are without any option. The reason it is recommended by players to other players is it is their best option given the reality of the game. Most advising it don't see it as a positive just doing what we have to.
