Firstly, let's start off with the requirements:
- complete 10 matches in comp
- 150 hand cannon final blows in comp
- 200 solar final blows in comp
- complete 3 rumble matches
- 100 precision hand cannon final blows in comp
- reach fabled (2100 glory)
This quest, with the exception of reaching fabled, is both character specific and must be completed in order. Steps will carry over seasons (except reaching fabled)
Before you start you should want to choose your character and subclass. Pick the one you're most comfortable with as you're going to be stuck with it. Each of the classes has a strong solar option for that quest step, that being bottom three dawnblade, mid tree gunslinger and top three hammers.
Next is you'll want to have a hand cannon you're comfortable with, you're going to be using it a lot. In the current meta on console, 180s are the strongest due to their perfect in-air accuracy and their stable shots.
The best option here is trust, a legendary cannon from gambit. Ideally, you'll want 2 rolls, one with explosive shot, one without. The roll drifter sells is a decent roll with explosive shot. The reason for the 2 rolls is that precision final blows with explosive shot are inconsistent, if an enemy is killed with the explosion rather than the initial shot, itll count as a bodulyshot kill.
Why is explosive shot so important? 2 reasons. Flinch. Damage drop off.
Getting shot with explosive shot will make it more difficult for an opponent to land their shots. The lack of damage drop off is the real juicy part though, it allows you to challenge at any range.
Next, you'll need a good shotgun. Dusk rock is the obvious choice here. Go to EDZ, pathfinders crash, n farm that lost sector over n over. In short, you're looking for a roll with rifled barrel or full choke, accuratised rounds and range masterwork. To get a good roll, itll take about 2 hours realistically. It's boring, grab some friends in a party chat...
These will be your main 2 weapons. Though best to have some other options in the back pocket such as:
Bygones
Retold tale or mindbinders (solar)
Polaris lance (solar)
Blast furnace
Ace of spades
Oh I forgot, heavy weapon, wardcliff is the king, its nuts. If legendary, hammerhead.
Armour: 4 or 5 super mods, its cringeworthy but having the first super of the game can potentially win the entire match if snowballed correctly.
Now your ready for comp.
Complete the 10 matches. Use whatever you want, use this time to learn the game modes. Winning isn't necessary.
Go in solo. You're objective is the quest steps and getting a positive kd. Use your trust as your main weapon, and keep slightly further back than you usually would with a HC, you have explosive shot and with win against other HC without it at range. In low glory you'll run in many others completing the steps.
Next up the solar final blows, switch to your solar subclass. This combined with trust (a solar weapon) will get this step done relatively quickly.
Rumble matches. You don't have to win, only complete. Easy.
Precision final blows. Okay this is the part where it can start to get tough depending on what glory you're at. This is why I said earlier to solo. You don't want to be running into teams of 4 lunas as it can become frustrating. Trust me, i did it the stupid way. Switch now off your explosive shot onto your other HC.
Now you're onto the glory rank. There are two way of doing this, the long road or the shortcut.
The long road involves playing at least 3 matches a week in comp, every week. This will accumulate bonus points I believe its 60 per week.
As there are 12 weeks to a season, you'll get 720 FREE points if you took the long road. In the last 1-2 weeks, grab a team do the last little bit. If you have 1 week remaining you only have to reach 2040 as the bonus points will give you your 2100.
The shortcut. Remember how I said earlier to keep a positive kd? This was for a nasty, yet realistic issue. Most teams in the fire team chat will ask for a certain kd to join. The better your kd, general the better team you'll get.
Basic strategy:
Clash:
People say there's no obj in clash. I disagree. The obj is power ammo and spawn manipulation. Who ever controls mid map and power ammo will usually win.
Control:
Get 2 zones, B is the match winner, if you lose it, use either heavy or 1 super to push other team back and reclaim.
Countdown:
Stick with your team, get a pick as a team and push up to the res. Plant if you can, many teams will panic and make bad plays as they're on a timer. Super chaining is key. Say you're team is 2-1 up and you're last alive against 4 - DO NOT USE YOUR SUPER. Either go for power or challenge quickly so the enemy doesn't build super. Know when to take the L.
Survival:
Who ever gets first heavy wins the round, notice a trend here? Again, think but your super, use supers to regain lost ground. If your heavily in the lead, save them for next round.
Not everyone is a slayer in comp. Communication wins games. If you die, don't complain, call out where the person who killed you is, their hp and where they're going.
There are so many other points I could go over but know that you can do this. It's going to be tough but you'll come out of it a better player.

3 RespuestasStep 1. Quit the game, give up

Seriously, thanks for trying to help. Now on to my sarchastic comment. Step 1: Realize that you play this game primarily for PvE and only do PvP when absolutely needed for a milestone or quest. Step 2: Understand that you really don't need Luna for PvE and the headache of going to get it. Not to mention this 180 HC meta is already beyond stale and that Bungie will not leave it in place for too much longer based on past history. Step 3: Go happily about your day not dealing with the sweatiest of game modes and just having fun doing what you want.

4 RespuestasEditado por Blind-N-1I: 2/18/2019 11:26:21 PMAfter playing Comp for about three hours and actually doing pretty well I’ve come to the conclusion that none of this really helps much outside of just having a good personal performance. It’s beyond obvious that connection, matchmaking, Bungie, and KDa dictates whether or not the average players is going to be allowed to progress. Also- TWO “Anteater” kicks. First one was mid game and I of course got the Warning for leaving a match too early. Really? Then about three games later some dbag loads into Clash and AFKs until they’re kicked and we’re left a man down the entire match. The other team goes up 4-1. With just the three of us we actually come back and tie it up 4-4 before our weakest player throws the 5th round to the enemy. Scoreboard pops up, Shaxx tells us that it just “wasn’t” enough and the return to orbit countdown begins. But wait...what’s that “Contacted Destiny Servers” doing on the bottom of my screen? Boom! I get Suspended. Yep...you read that right. Stuck it out in a 3v4 match until the end and still got suspended. I’m absolutely convinced that the Bungie crew simply doesn’t give a damn about this game. Inexcusable on Bungie’s part to say the least. The best part was the direction to a URL if having problem with internet. JFC these guys are imbeciles. Never mind that I live in one of the high tech centers of the world and have incredibly good internet service. Also never mind the fact that I haven’t been “Anteater” kicked more than a couple of times since D2 was released. TWO times in around three hours. Both of those incidents were a direct result of BS on Bingie’s side, not me. So disappointed in the people that staff the Bungie studio.

3 RespuestasTl;DR Step 1: Borrow your parents credit card Step 2: Sign up for a service Step 3: Yank it for a few days Step 4: Go into quickplay and t-bag pretending you're actually good.

2 RespuestasDelete destiny since it’s a bottom tier pvp game and move on

7 RespuestasYou forgot the most important step. Cross your fingers and roll the dice before queing up because matchmaking is more like an RNG chance....

1 RespuestaJust got to Fabled approx. 10 minutes ago. I solo Que’d because most of those people on LFG are very prestigious and it makes it almost impossible to find a squad, and I have a 1.25KD. I recommend always joining team chat if you have a mic, and USE IT! Secondly how hard is it for you too not run around like you got your -blam- head blown off? My load out varied on whether the map was close range or long range TLW—>Chattering Bones Sniper on most maps, then a shotgun on the closer range maps. Hammerhead—-> Wardcliff Coil. I went on a streak from early AM, took a break around 1500ish, and pounded the rest out in the PM Yes! You will lose, don’t let that discourage you, or make you angry, it’s a factor of the game. Just don’t keep playing when you are tilted and cost other people the game, thanks!

Awesome post dude! As someone who is average at best on pvp, I will give this a try. Cheers pal!

You forgot the disclaimer. You may lose your mind on this quest. I just had 4 out of 5 matches 3 v 4 and I got royally screwed. Also I am not a very good Crucible player and I am the one on top. I dont know how the matchmaking works but I get the shaft with a bad team 90 percent of the time. It is getting very frustrating.

1 RespuestaYou forgot the down side cheating and quiters will take points away lmao this is more of a false hope post then anything

Editado por MySonIsWolverine: 2/18/2019 9:44:25 PMI did it the hard way too, I used comp to get valor points for the Redrix so I wouldn't lose the streak bonus. Ended up on 1500 glory points when I got Redrix so thought why not try for lunas being that I was only 600 points off. Ended up getting the fabled and then having to get all the other parts done going up against people with Luna's already!! Was tough but got there in the end.

1 RespuestaA good guide. I haven't attempted to obtain LH as I'm not a PvP player. I have thought about it in the past but I play games to chill out and relax, whenever I go into PvP I'm tense. If I knew that my progress wouldn't be going backwards when i lose then I would consider it however in its current state with the current matching making and my current skill level I really can't be bothered. Also with new games on the horizon I doubt I will even have the time.
-
Bold of you to assume I’m good enough to be considered average
-
This is actually well-written and in-depth. The problem is, I'm not good at destiny so hitting 2100 is a chore
-
Thanks! Although I’m a bit confused about how comp scoring works with wins and losses this is a great guide. Respect! 👍
-
Or just get 8 people together.
-
7 RespuestasSerious question... I now again only need one win for LH, every time I go for the last W I lose several in a row... if I wait for reset will it push me into Fabled or has Bungie accounted for that and I will not progress?

Appreciate the tips here. Im about to go into the 100 precision kills and I’m worried about getting up to fabled rank next season but these tips give me a bit of a chance. Another helpful option for the 200 solar kills is running Jötun and any solar heavy. I finished the 200 kills in about 3 hours of matches. It was super helpful for me since trust was requiring more 1v1 and I’m still improving on those. I feel like I can get it next season with those LFG tips and other people giving tips in the stream here. This is what our community needs, not people complaining and getting salty towards each other. Much respect to you 🤘🏻

Editado por Blind-N-1I: 2/18/2019 11:18:40 PMSolid advice. I just started working on the Luna’s quest and imo you should definitely add “learn to protect spawn integrity” and “learn to watch your flanks”. That has by far been the biggest hurdle for me so far. Most of the random teammates I play with will spawn in and then immediately run into a 3v1 insta-death on the opposite side of the map. And once they’ve moved off of the spawn they will almost never even bother to take a peek at the flank before moving forward and handing the enemy a non contested kill. I would add “Just try not to die at world record speed over and over”.
