It's the death penalty that we dont like. Yeah the crucible gun should have crucible steps, but this is a cheap and obvious attempt at banjo forcing players to play their terrible PvP so they can say they actually have people playing.

  • I love when people accuse bungie of forcing them to do something its so cute. You know you dont actually have to get the gun right?

  • This is basic psychology. They get us hooked on the game with loot and quests, dont tell me you dont keep playing because you love the feeling of getting rewarded. So when completionists like me who hate the state PvP is in truly are forced to play a dying game mode, its irritating.

  • Yeah i think youve got it backwards, you are the one forcing yourself to do stuff you dont like in order to get rewarded. Bungie is just providing you the means to get said reward.

  • Noone is forcing anyone to PVP. The problem as many, many, many, many people have pointed out is the loss of progress on death. If you aren't good at PVP you will be stuck doing this quest on your warlock or titan for 1-3 days. If you are "good" at PVP or just have a hunter you can equip shards of gallinor, que mayhem and be done in 1-3mins. I tried to PVP on my warlock and got bored of it. I switched to hunter and I was done. How is that not a problem?

  • You get 2% for a kill and lose 1% for a death, if you trade every kill you will get it done, i dont see a problem at all. Do you remember getting the chaperone in d1? It was +1% for a kill and -2% for a death, this is easy mode compared to that.

  • I didn't like the chaperone quest in D1. If people don't like a game mode they should be able to go in, grind some of it, and continue later if they get tired/bored/frustrated. Joker's wild is coming up and im already pretty bored of gambit. Are you exited for Breakneck+ that required 80 gambit wins and a loss takes away a win? You say shit like this may be fine now but I and the rest of the comunity seem to be pretty tired of it. How many forum posts does it take over multiple events for our point to get across? When will you get tired of shit like this? year 2? year 3? year 4 gallahorn you have to grind 8000 guardian kills?

  • I didnt like the quest either, i was a pve player thought the gun was out of my reach but then i practiced with the last word when ever i was in the crucible and eventually made a push and got the gun and that moment is my favourite memory of d1. No raid competed with the sense of achievement i got from improving and achieving a task that i thought i could never do. So while you may hate it there are people out there who love these kinds of quests and im one of those people. So why should i and others like me go without a quest i thoroughly enjoy? Not everything in destiny is designed for you. Not every player is the same as you. If you dont like it, dont do it the only person forcing you to do stuff you dont like is you.

  • I have the gun. I am fine with quests that just sit in your pursuits and goad you into trying them even if they are just out of your reach. I think that is good. Im fine with crucible guns being from crucible and I think their should be more to chase. I dont think this type of quest is ok. Even if I have the gun, others will NEVER get it. Its ok to have guns like archius and whisper that people can "overlevel" (devs have said only 50lvls over matters) and work towards, thats good. Whats bad is when joker's wild comes out power goes up and last word becomes harder to get. After that penumbrum comes out and better PVP guns come out and light lvl goes up again again the quest gets harder. It is fine rewarding people for shit like raid world first but to make it harder on people who can't even get the gun now is stupid. Like I said im waiting for breakneck+ that WILL be the best gun in the game and everyone bitching about gambit.

  • What about the vast majority of people that dont raid and cant get anarchy or 1k voices? Should they be made available for people that cant do the raid? Or should they be coveted weapons that inspire people to get better and go chase them?

  • You can overlevel raids. You can't overlevel crucible. I skipped levi for the first year of d2. It just didnt interest me so I never got acrius. Then I did LW and SoTP and had a good time. that encouraged me to go back to levi and get acrius. I was fine with it sitting there until I went and got it and there should be quests like that in the game for everyone. You can always go into LW or SoTP for a chance at the exotics and can even increase your chances at getting 1k with the 5 keys trick. If I dont PVP and I come back in a year do I have a better chance at getting Last Word? No. The best chance people have is right now while mayhem is going and while not ever sweat has it. Does your chance of 1k or anarchy go down if anyone in your team has it? No. Crucible is its own problem and I dont even want to touch that topic but this quest is just badly designed. PVP players want more PVP steps and PVE players dont want to get punished.

  • no your right, solo players can't just jump into raids cause the guided games system is a joke. People have to go to this website or other 3rd party ones to find a team for in game activities. You can argue the PVP matchmaking is ok but I think its just meh. The best way to get last word is to be at max light level. These days people take others into levi in the range of 300-650 and LW ive seen a 505 get carried. Would you let a 500 into your PVP last word farming group? your lunas group? Each activity in Destiny has a shit ton of problems with it but crucible has the most problems by far to the point they have to have balance patches just for it and they had to remove trails. Everything is broken yo especially for solo players lol.

  • Light level has 0 impact on crucible so yeah i dont see why a low light guardian wouldnt be able to join in on pvp stuff, i mean im gonna do it solo anyway having someone tag along thats low light wont impact me at all. And pvp is always going to be imbalanced, so long as buffs and nerfs or new weapons change the meta im fine with it. Im yet to play a fps pvp game that hasnt got balance issues. But ive gone on a bit of a tangent. All im trying to get at is that its fine having sought after exotics behind certain activities to motivate people to step out of their comfort zone and try something new. After all if they step out and dont like it they can just avoid it. I know i avoided malfeasance for the longest time, only got it as a biproduct of getting breakneck.

  • Light level affects what weapons you have, do you have all the classes (some people still dont have all their seed of light believe it or not), what mods you can throw on gear and how many infusion cores you have to waste of weapons and armor. Your right PVP will always be -blam!-ed no point trying to improve it. I hope you enjoy the next 3 months of joke's on you wild.

  • I mean that argument works for both pve and pvp, however you can still use blues in pvp and do alright. The botheration is pretty much a budget matador and the aachen is a budget longbow. Primaries suffer a little if you dont have legendaries but even so theres quest exotics you can grab that do the job and the light level requirement for those is super low. Getting to 500 light requires 0 infusion materials so until then you dont have to worry and even then infusion only matters for pve content and at 500 light you can go grind for legendaries to use in pvp pretty easily, lost sector farming is the best way to get world drops aka dust rock and right side of wrong which both of those do work in the crucible. But really i feel like it would impact your pve more than your pvp because you dont need to worry about infusion for pvp unless youre gonna do iron banner. Where as pve requires higher light for certain activities.
