This is what the game needs on a permanent basis. You get the baking ingredients for doing anything in the game (not specific activities or milestones), and with the stuff I've gotten (cores, planetary materials, etc.) from just baking treats for people, I can actually infuse the stuff I want on a regular basis. This is how the game should be ALL THE TIME, not once a year.
EDIT: I'm not saying it has to stay 100 percent exactly as is. It doesn't have to be "bake cookies in an oven to deliver to NPCs." But as D2 Dahaka put it:
Earning stuff as you actually play the game makes the experience more rewarding. I’m not saying keep the cookie oven, but this idea needs to be developed into something more permanent.
And to that I would add, the stuff you earn is both useful and effortless — no doing a specific activity a set number of times in a certain element, no buying bounties or waiting for a certain day of the week. It's well designed and should be adapted into a permanent fixture — ESPECIALLY with the continued scarcity of masterwork cores AND the onerous requirements to infuse gear.
EDIT 2: Wow, look at those upvotes! I'm happy to see so much support for this idea! Thanks, guardians!

Editado por WolfsMidnight: 1/2/2019 6:33:55 AMI loved the baking thing. It was so easy to get enhancement cores and it really did help. Although I didn’t play much, I jumped from having zero cores to 40 in the time it took to complete the event. That’s the most cores I’ve ever had. It’s going to suck trying to get cores now. Being able to use weapons and armour that you actually like this just wonderful!
-
4 RespuestasYeah, I don't know what I'm going to do for cores now ☹ The few from spider are not enough to actually masterwork and infuse gear. I guess I'll just delete all my new crappy 650 gear instead of bringing the gear I actually want up to 650
-
1 RespuestaDawning and baking was utter shyte, and was cheap crap Just need a better way to get cores
-
2 RespuestasNot going to happen. You think bungie can afford to let those play time figures slip? The player base wouldn’t have to waste all their play time farming crap like “enhancement cores” if this were permanent. Infinitely better for the player base. Bad for bungies stats.
-
I think this would transition nicely into a crafting system.
-
Y it’s was a gimmick for the event yes it made everything easier but that was the gift
-
I agree with this 100%
-
I didn’t realise the dawning finished yesterday. Had a ton of cakes to turn in. What an idiot
-
Agree, this thread needs to be the top thread.
Also, it would be nice to make the Infinite Forest activity permanent with rr y2 versions of the Prophecy weapons in its loot pool.
35 RespuestasEditado por TechnoKat: 1/1/2019 7:18:32 AMYou've got a great idea. But, and I mean this in the most sincere and non-assholistic way I can say it, keep dreaming. You see, your suggestion would cut down on playtime. BUNGiE wants to keep inflating that playtime. By giving us ways to gather materials at a reasonable rate, you would reduce the amount of time spent playing the game to get to where you, the player, want to be. BUNGiE does not want you to reach that place. What BUNGiE wants you to do is to continually look at your character and say "X is okay, but what I really want is Y." and then when you get to Y they want you to already be back at the point of "Well, I got Y and all, but Z is the new hotness." And while there are plenty of good ways to about about this carrot and stick game of treadmilling out cool shit, BUNGiE has decided that making content is hard and too much work for them, so the alternative is to make Y and Z unreachable without absurd amounts of time and effort. I see so many good, hopeful posts that make me sad because there are so few people who are willing to pull OPs aside and say "Yes, that's a good Idea, but you're wasting your breath on someone who doesna give a damn about you and only cares about the numbers you generate for them."

1 Respuestaultra bump. I can’t say how good it feels now that I can finally infuse guns and armor I actually LIKE and WANT to use. All thanks to giving cookies to NPCs.
-
Totally agree that we either need to get rid of masterwork cores or keep something similar to the dawning on a permanent basis. I was finally able to fully masterwork a complete armour set and 3 weapons, without the dawning it would have been a nightmare, great shout!!

6 RespuestasNo. As fun as it was it’s had its time and now we should move on. I just don’t need another bunch of stuff cluttering up my inventory and turning in a hundred cookies to get more useless blues which become yet more materials you can’t exchange for anything worthwhile in game, just ain’t fun.
-
1 RespuestaYep. It was totally worth it to do pretty much anything, because you could always be gathering essence and materials.
-
Aaaaaand it’s gone....☹️ i miss Eva already

4 RespuestasNever going to happen. This is bungie. They have NEVER taken a suggestion and actually implemented it, and they certainly NEVER keep/extend event content (see crimson days 2018). Hell, they extremely rarely even ACKNOWLEDGE such suggestions, let alone work them in. Your ideas, like many, many others, will fall to deaf ears and be ignored completely.
-
18 RespuestasNo. The whole idea was childish, and weird to be included in the Destiny universe. If you are running out of cores so fast you aren't playing the game right. I infuse all the time, and never run out.

Editado por ScottF 2112: 1/1/2019 8:42:37 PMIf you play Monster Hunter World (or others) you can craft and craft and craft. That is a nice system. Still some RNG, but a lot of just making exactly what you want.
-
An idea might be to implement the planetary materials into that. For example after killing an enemy there’s a chance for a drop? Maybe
