Shin Malphur, The man with the Golden Gun or the man consumed by the hunt.
Now this is something I wanted to do for awhile and I think we’re at a point where it’s actually pretty to think about this.
Now I want everyone to try and keep their bias opinions out of this as I’ll provide a reason for each answer and you guys can decide from those two answers.
(For the poll answer No he’s not consumed)
Now Shin Malphur is a almost a mythical name itself. The man with the Golden Gun. Not just any gunslinger golden gun but, “The Golden Gun.” An insane title for a man with a righteous history. He’s the same who put an end to Dredgen Yor who was a menace to society and many innocent guardians and people and he hasn’t stopped from there. The Shadows of Yor are people who try and justify Dredgen as misunderstood and kill people on their own time whether good or bad. They are murders and crooks, but Shin Malphur endlessly hunts them down and tries to stop them at any turn. He’s a hero and a saint and without him who knows what could be happening. I mean look at it this way we know the Yors are bad look at CALLUM. The man kills and got so angry he killed his own Ghost. Who does that? And Shin Malphur efficiently stopped him from doing anymore harm. He sat in a Taken realm to stop this man for two whole weeks. That commitment. He is a man with a plan and he will not stop to his job is finished.
(For the poll answer Yes he is consumed)
Shin Malphur once a hero is blinded by his hunt. No man should be the Judge, The Jury, and The Executioner. That’s just to much power. This is the same man who came from a time period as the Drifter who really isn’t that different. Both have killed guardians, both in their own names are literal renegades, and both come from a time of Guardians being quite easily the biggest threat aside from the fallen. A time period of guardians killing guardians. He’s even teaming up with the Drifter who he doesn’t trust to find people who he feels by just watching their styles of attacking are on their path to darkness. Truly how can you get that much information from just watching a match of Gambit? Both sides wanna win so how does a Guardian who puts forth his most effort get determined. He invaded constantly to stop the enemy team from killing their primeval or did he just wanna kill guardians. You can’t tell unless you meet them. That’s why this Judge, Jury, and Executioner doesn’t work. Also he was in a Taken realm for two WEEKS. He had to have been corrupted some way? Sure it was to kill Callum, but the way he did it was to lustful. Blinded by lust he didn’t think and waited for Callum to speak before it was to late. Callum killed his ghost. Shin could’ve put a stop to it sooner and convinced his Ghost to not resurrect Callum and get all sorts of information of the Yors themselves, but he didn’t. He could’ve even had Callum locked up forever, but he didn’t. Why? Because he’s blinded by rage and revenge and that’s not what a guardian is about.
Now you have had two different reasons both heavily bias. With these two and without your bias please choose and answer and surely discuss if you want to in the comments.

1 RespuestaFrancisco Scaramanga was The Man with The Golden Gun.

1 RespuestaWay I see it, he's preventing another Dredgen Yor from rising. He relentlessly hunts the Shadows because they all follow in the footsteps of a murderous psychopath and try to justify his actions. In the recording Shin said he gave them all a chance to turn back when he killed Callum so he at least tries to avoid killing some. As for the guardians in Gambit, he is looking for people who enjoy it too much, he doesn't care about their tactics or efficiency, but their mental states during and after matches. Not to mention how he wants the Drifter to paint him as the villain, he's trying to end a cult and prevent more from joining. I see nothing wrong with this.

I choose "C", All of the Above.

7 Respuestas
Shin’s a killer, not an angel. Take Callum as an example. The man had just killed his ghost. No threat just a mortal, just human. Then Shin paints his ash on a wall. Is this the hero your looking for... a cold blooded murder? -Dredgen Aku

As the grimlore said... hero’s sometimes live to long only to become the villain
28 RespuestasI certainly hope he's still on our side, it would be a tragedy to see him fall to the very evil that consumed his old enemy

8 RespuestasI think people are making him look far worse than he is. Currently, nothing solid suggests he is loosing is mind. He’s still the old Shin. Sure, if you only look at him as a killer, he looks questionable, but people don’t think about everything that happens before that. He doesn’t kill without solid reasons and evidence. He’s been tracking and watching the Drifter for literal ages. Drifter is a pretty suspicious fella and Shin hasn’t offed him yet. For all he knows, he could be a legit shadow. If Shin were a murder loving lunatic, the Drifter would be dead. Similar thing for Callum. From the dialogue in the end of the special Corrupted strike it is implied that Sin has been tracking Callum for a long time too. He even warned him not to continue his ways. If Shin was only in it for killing, this wouldn’t happen.

19 RespuestasI think he’s on the edge. He is obsessed with the hunt for the Shadows, but not without good reason. They are extremely dangerous. But this isn’t the dark age any more. Vigilante justice doesn’t fly any more. He needs a system of checks and balances. And I think that’s what the Drifter is giving him. Gambit serves as a jury of sorts. Sure, you can’t tell just by watching a Gambit match who might be a Shadow of Yor. But, you can definitely use it to narrow down your investigation. Anyone who hasn’t attained the rank of Dredgen lacks either the bloodlust, the power, or both to merit suspicion as a Shadow. Not everyone who attains the rank is a Shadow, but every Shadow is sure to get there before long. Malfeasance keeps Shin from killing everyone who reaches Dredgen rank “just to be sure.” He can’t know for sure that any given Dredgen doesn’t have Malfeasance. And if he draws on someone with Malfeasance, even if they get just one shot in, that slug is going to fester. He does that one too many times, and it’s over. So the mere existence of the gun insures that Shin makes damn sure his target is a Shadow before going for the kill.

3 RespuestasIt's adorable that you think people actually paid attention to your formatting. can guarantee you half the people that clicked one of the answer is for your poll had no clue what they were doing

6 RespuestasEditado por Unicorn: 11/19/2018 1:53:05 PMYou either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
From what I remember of the grimoire cards in D1 Yor was described as a man of noble intent loved by the people before he went off the deep end. Wouldn't be surprised if the that view wasn't applied to him.
Actual spoilers in this one.
Isn't the Drifter confirmed to be Yor? Malfeasance's lore says that he (the Drifter) lost Thorn and talks about us not being able to beat 'The Man with The Golden Gun'
1 RespuestaIt's hard to tell with Shin Malphur. He may be consumed by the Hunt, similar to Maiev Shadowsong in Warcraft 3, but the question is what happens to him once he finishes his hunt. Once the Shadows of Yor are gone, what's next for him?
