Having Dark subclasses would kill the game for me. We have been fighting the Darkness for years now, to join it now would be horrible for myself and many other players. In my mind, we would be turning from heroes into villains.
As well, having a free for all player vs player vs enemy setup in all destinations would not likely be liked by players who do not necessarily like the crucible. I would hate to be doing something and be shot in the back by another player. If you wanted to do a player against everything environment, you could have an arena destination run by an NPC like Shax. Have it have exclusive rewards and secrets like the Dreaming City and be optional.
If you wanted Dark Guardians, you could have them as NPCs that you encounter who perhaps hunt you and provide unique rewards for killing them. You could even learn pieces of their lore and how they fell to the Darkness. Perhaps as loot for killing them over and over, we could earn their armor as it was before their fall and their signature weapon. For their abilities, it would be a good way to test out the wilder supers with players to see what they think when they see it and then create a Light version of it. Like Warlocks with the ability to create concentrated hurricanes or Hunters with the ability to create hard light animals to aid them.
You could name these Dark Guardians something like The Dregden or The Lightless.

You are the Dark Guardian. Darkness wielding Guardians understand the truth.

4 RespuestasHell no. I want to be a dark guardian. Way more fun than having to live on a moral high horse

2 RespuestasIt's been rumored since the very first destiny that the guardians are the bad guys and it only gets more alluded to. Deal with it

6 RespuestasYou do know about that Traveler shard in the Sludge right? That alone proves dark subclasses are a possibility with few to no repercussions. No one said anything about betraying the Light, think of it like this: Osiris became obsessed with the Vex which Guardians pair with the Darkness, but he is using whatever he can of the Vex to get the job done. Eris is using Dark powers from the Hive to better understand and combat them. Toland is doing something in the Ascendent Realm, We became Ascendent to kill Oryx and we have used SEVERAL Dark weapons such as Thorn, Necrochasm, Touch of Malice, Crota's Sword, Swords forged from a shard of Oryx's sword, and Whisper of the Worm which is basically a HIVE GOD. Why would officially having some control over Darkness be a bad thing when we have used dark methods and tools of Darkness to our benefit?

6 RespuestasAs cool as dark powers would be it would be weird for the lore I think. Hell our titles are “guardians of the LIGHT”

Yeah, I really don't want to see dark-aligned players or PVP combat as a major storyline element or something that happens in patrol spaces. It would totally spoil the themes of the first two games. Also, PVE players largely hate PVP and don't want more of it, and especially not more they can't avoid. The game is primarily a PVE game and the PVP elements are honestly pretty poor compared to PVP focused games. PVP in the PVE spaces would be the proverbial turd in the punchbowl. I'm all for new things, but not either of those.
