BANNED for no reason at all

What a Crock - I get banned for doing nothing and here I am with zero recourse to appeal it - I am a mediocre player at best who really only plays PvE - I have zero complaints against me and I somehow managed to get banned - No questionable software running or anything else - Bungie states "Permanent account bans are only implemented with rigorous checking" which can not be the case as I have never done except play the game. They also say "Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason." again complete BS. I was told if I wanted to play again to make another Battle.net account and PURCHASE the game again - Seems to me like bans are a money making scam - complete BS. I realize there are no ways to appeal it - I will never ever again support a company with such shady practices. and trust me if I really had done something I would just own it and get on with my life -

  • M8, I feel your pain. I WAS an hardcore PVE player ( only did PVP if I had to- for milestones) with 1600 hours playing. And I was banned. The only Software i was running is battlenet - TS3 or discord - Logitech and Nvida Software - sometimes outlook - sometimes netflix - sometimes Twitch - Core Temp when I was overclocking - sometimes Streamlabs OBS and of course Avast Internet Security and Avast secureline VPN. Some days ago I was banned - for me without a reason - I tried everything to contact bungie ( Twitter / redit ). NOBODY responsed. Didn't receive any explanation via email etc. If I will do a 2nd account ( I will not) you can be banned again, because you dont know why you where banned! Thats a mess and Bungie should give a statement about it. Regards

  • Haha, enjoy your ban and loss of money. This is what cheaters like you deserve. When you cheat you ruin the experience for people who do not cheat. I'm glad they banned you ; ) haha sucker!!!!

    • Sure, like the millions of other players who got “wrongly” banned. Bungie found something on your computer that could/would affect D2 and there’s nothing really you can do about it. If you were wrongly banned, Bungie will get back to you in about 24 hours otherwise you’ll have to remove what you think banned you from your computer and make another account and buy D2 again. If there was an appeal and Bungie tells people what they were banned for, then those people will find ways around the anti cheat system in D2.

    • The sad truth is that due to how easy it is for PC players to cheat at ANY game that they are held to a higher standard when game security is concerned. In the perfect world no one would cheat but as any PC can download cheat programs for ANY game the industry has no choice to impose harsh measures for anything that could be used to cheat and in Destiny's case the program detected something and alerted Bungie who investigated and saw it action was need to be taken.
