If you'd been following the dialogue of the weekly story missions in the Dreaming City, you might remember hearing mentions of the Vex. In this weeks mission, Petra mentions she'd been communicating with all available allies on how to stop the curse. One of her allies happen to be Osiris, and he says that only the Vex can cause the repetition of the cycle. After hearing this I wondered how the Vex could be involved in this Taken curse. Then it it me, it's gotta be Quria, Blade Transform.

We’ve known that it’s Quria for a while. The Truth To Power lore book confirms it.

2 RespuestasI’m thinking quira has finally managed to simulate paracausal powers as it was taken by one. However, we do know it still has some will left and can act on its own due to this. So quira is effectively doing savathuns bidding but at the same time trying to reach out to us, train us so we can kill savathun and her daughter and thus completely free quira. We also know quira has been taking vex from io (and also a red legionary on earth). The vex as we know are all connected and so far as far as lore goes even when taken the taken retain memories of their former life. Now, I speculate that quira effectively has its own taken vex network, made out of all the taken vex. This would mean quira knows that guardians have been willing to help the vex against the taken (d1) and that the vex know the taken are their end. Quira, in essence still being a vex wants to prevent this and is calling on us to once again help, this time against something it has been studying for a long time but could never take action itself. However this medusa that is new in forsaken intrigues me. Is it a pure vex that was made by quira as a messenger to us, so that quira has something less threatening than a taken to talk to us, or is it something else

Makes sense. If it does turn out to be caused by Quria, maybe they could tie Rasputin into the story as a means of breaking out of the loop
-
1 RespuestaIf you've played this week's heroic then you know that Petra determined it isn't a vex caused loop...

2 RespuestasIt's sav'athun, she tricked taken riven into changing her last wish, She draws power every time we reset to curse by killing her daughter Dul incanu. Rivens curse still plays out, just in a time loop.
-
They said the cycle is savathun’s wish. She gains power from all that dies in the cycle. I can guarantee that quria is the one who can harness the power for savathun

2 RespuestasEditado por Seanron: 10/11/2018 1:03:55 PMBack in ye olden Taken King Days, we discovered the Books of Sorrow that explained this: Crota and his sisters in their desire to emulate their father Oryx cut a hole in space without fully understanding what they were doing. This hole accidentally led into a Vex Network. The Vex promptly invaded the Hive Throneworlds through this hole. Crota slew thousands and initially the Vex struggled to comprehend the throneworlds and their Sword Logic, so as Vex do they crafted a Mind to comprehend and combat it. It's name was Quaria, Blade Mind. Quaria came very close to mastering the Sword Logic as the Hive do, but eventually Oryx discovered what his children had done and promptly devastated the Vex. He Took Quaria, changing her into Quaria Blade Transform. (He also hilariously hurled Crota through the Vex hole before closing it, stating "Return a conqueror or not at all" which is how Crota eventually ended up on our Moon) Oryx discovered the reason that the Vex had started to make headway against Crota and his daughters was the reason that Vex are so effective everywhere: they can simulate their enemies to predict outcomes. Quaria had done this by simulating Aurush, which was Oryx's previous female form. He found this delightful and gifted Quaria to Savathun, stating that the Mind might also simulate her and their sister Xivu Arath. No doubt he hoped the Mind would eventually hilariously kill his sister, however Quaria's ability to simulate Aurash has no doubt led to her simulating the ability to take, maybe even simulating the Tablets of Ruin. I think the Curse is of Hive Origin, but Savathun has used the immense processing power of Quaria to craft it. Quaria is Savathun's slave, just as Riven was.

I’m really enjoying the self awareness of the NPCs realizing the time loop of the Dreaming City...as for this week’s mission, yep it’s definitely Quria.
-
Yep. And Quria was gifted to Savathun by Oryx.
-
Toland actually says in the Ascendant Realm that Quria is the key to the curse. With Oryx dead, I'm assuming Quria was finally able to define Oryx and therefore simulate him.

6 Respuestas<Don't kill it. It wants us to kill Dul Incaru permanently but the bitch won't die no matter what.>

Or an alternate version of the vex.

Kinda old news to the lore nerds, but good that it’s getting out there.

Petra also talks about Rasputin in week 3.
