You mean like what Lost Sectors should have been? Bungie could have referenced half a dozen games that make dungeons the right way but they didn’t so we got mediocre five minute mini-dungeons. Shattered throne is a good start but I want the maze-like architecture and chests everywhere.
And please... no more Taken or ascendant realm garbage. You got it out of your system Bungie, how about now we get something with a little more color?

Uh oh...someone hasn't paid attention to the story line we're on...and will be super disappointed that the Taken are the major players in everything right now.
-
Oh god dammit. Would every cleverer-than-thou smart ass who thinks they know what’s going on please stop missing the point. I know the story. I know why everything is the way it is. It’s just a f-cking boring design! I don’t. Like. The Taken. That’s it. I know everything you know, and I’m keeping up quite nicely, please do try to keep up with me. Or not. Who gives a shit.
-
Unfortunately until we deal with savathuun taken will be a huge part of destiny until the darkness arrives... whenever they decide to jump to ludicrous speed.
-
It's clever from a design perspective though, and I believe that's one of the reasons why they can pull it off to offer a new ascendant challenge every week and even throw in a dungeon here and there. It's just buildings or formations without any real background, which is probably done a lot quicker than designing a full strike or new area.
-
Yep, enough, I can’t bloody well see anything! It’s all very well helping out colour blind people but try being partially sighted in an even more dimmed out world !!!!!!
-
I agree, when D2 was first coming about I had the idea that lost sectors were going to be this end game challenge of real skill, instead I got a yellow bar enemy that rewards 2 blues
-
You got two? Lucky!!!!
-
I love the ascendant realm. This weeks challenge is awesome!
-
Too dark and dreary. The architecture is cool, but it’s just all black and white and depressing.
-
Hey now! If you love Emo Land, aka the Dreadnought, then, this is carnival for that!!!!
-
It is the ascendant realm. Did you expect sunshine and rainbows?
-
Oh man, I love explaining shit over and over. I know it’s the ascendant realm. I’m just not a fan of the aesthetic and I hope they don’t overuse it.
-
I think Destiny needs more dark and dreary. It's definitely helpful to convey a dark story when we are so overpowered. I also think it's a good metaphor for being a light in the dark. A Guardian.
-
I respect that point, if we could actually see the influence our light has on the darkness. Problem with video games is that while in theory vanquishing evil is important and world-changing, the practical reality of actually making games makes it difficult to represent this. There are few games that actually show the progress of your heroics, transforming a dark and dreary world into something bright and colorful as you slay enemies. As long as there’s a balance of darkness and color, that’s fine. I just see a lot of Taken influence nowadays and I guess I’m just not a fan of the Taken.
-
Ooooh, that would be cool! Killing an enemy would make a bright mark on the ground, and wherever you walk lights up. When you're in your super, it causes a TON of light around you.

Kinda like this? 😁
