It's honestly ridiculous.
If you are winning, the opposing team shouldn't get an advantage to 'catch up'.

They don't get an advantage. You would still have the advantage, just not by such a ridiculous amount. If they didn't have this mechanic, it would be super easy to tell who's going to win right away. This helps keep the match winnable for both teams.
-
Which is how it should be. If players are dominating, they deserve to win. If you are losing, you don't deserve to win. Catch up is a joke.
-
Let me compare it to crucible. If you're destroying your opponent badly enough, you know you're going to win. Because of this, the game has a mercy rule. If one team is a certain amount ahead of the other, the game ends short. This system is done to prevent boring matches. Otherwise, matches that are poorly balanced would just drag on for no reason. Gambit has a similar system, but in a different way. It allows people to hang on with a small chance of success. One thing I want to point out about it is that it's not anything near a catch up. You don't get pulled up, but rather you're just dragged along. They make it possible to climb back up, but you still have to do it yourself.

Editado por JediTyro: 9/29/2018 8:01:17 PMAs a solo (mostly) queue player I've been on both sides of this equation and agree with what you're saying. The key is teamwork and knowing how to make the most of your supers and heavy. I've seen too many teammates (myself included when I first started playing Gambit) dump their supers and heavy as soon as the Primeval spawns, rather than taking out the two envoys (or whatever the yellow bars are called) and getting the Slayer buff up to 6-8 before pouring on the damage. Team composition can also help maximize dps and result in ridiculously fast Primeval melting which even the catch up mechanic can't help overcome, so I don't get all the hate posts over this.

If a team gets wrecked first match there not gonna stick around for seconds. I personally leave the first match if the team I’m matched with loose 15 motes to invader kills, I have no faith in them if they can see an invasion is going to happen as they’re too greedy to put out small blockers

Editado por ReservoirDogs080: 9/29/2018 2:53:25 PMRage-quitters, the most hated teammates a player can have in any multiplayer-mode. No matter what: I'm staying! Players b*tching about Primeval Slayer Buff are probably all playing in 3- or 4-player fireteams. Playing with randoms is a disadvantage already, but still fireteams need more help getting easy wins ... right ... talking about catering to the less skilled players ... lol

I don’t quit pvp matches even if I spawn into a losing battle. One man can turn the tide and clinch the win, I’ve done it many a time. But gambit is a different kettle of fish and takes more forward planning
-
I’m a pretty skilled pvp’er and can raid with the best of them but I’m a family man with a limited time online so if I’m wasting my time on clowns gathering up 10+ motes and then not realising we’re about to get invaded and then losing said motes to an invader. Then it’s not rage quitting, it’s called tactical quitting, as I’m not angry when I do it. I’m smart

Editado por ReservoirDogs080: 9/29/2018 2:58:11 PMTalking about your "skills" but admitting to leave matches (you think) you loose ... which takes no skill. How about taking revenge in the 2nd and/or 3rd round? Show your skills. A skilled player would stay and try to turn things around, wannabees/tryhards leave matches because of; - k/d - lack of skill - time Losing is part of the game, you can't stand it? Don't play online (with randoms or get in a clan)! Bungie should block players that leave on purpose trying to start a new game, even if it's just for 15 or 30 minutes. Losing should be rewarded better then leaving on purpose!

Editado por Kazakhi Jay: 9/29/2018 3:41:55 PMI solo queue crucible all the time and don’t quit games, the clan I’m in is mostly pve. Gambit should be 1 round not 3 as takes too long when I constantly see dummy’s drop 15 motes at a time
-
Maybe you should try to find a better/more active (PVP) clan? I agree that Gambit takes too long especially 3 rounds and should be a 1 round thing. Bungie should give us the option to; - Look for [1]One or [2]Three round(s) matches. - Switch Invading to [1]On (like it is now), [2]Always On or [3]Off and make it a race for either [1]PVP and PVE-players ,[2]PVP-players or [3]PVE-players. - Switch between [1]Fireteams On or [2]Randoms Only.
-
Obviously gambit is new and they will have to make changes but currently it’s flawed
-
I meant to say I don’t quit crucible games regardless of score
-
They do I’ve gotten blocked from gambit before but if you see my other reply saying I don’t quit pvp you’ll see it’s more of a time thing if I quit gambit, and I don’t quit after a round I quit when I see my team is utterly useless, when I’m at 2/3 gambit matches played and I see my team I with make rookie mistakes I sit in the spawn “comforting a feathered friend and wait for the match to end ;)
-
Exactly. They should have to pull off good INVASIONS to catch up. Bungie catering to the less skilled players per usual.
-
Bungie love -blam!-ing over the playerbase. it's nothing new.
-
Perfectly stated.
