The flavor text I got from turning in my weekly Vanguard Strikes milestone states: "For Zavala, trust once broken is not easily mended. But if you continue to put the effort into repairing this relationship, so will he."
I'm sorry, but did I miss something in the other flavor texts or lore or anything else wherein Zavala loses his trust for the Guardian? And if not, then should I even care what he thinks anymore (that answer's a hard and resounding "no").
I was accepting when he stated that what we did was not necessary for the people of the Last City. And peeved that he would try to blame us for any retribution from future attacks made by the Awoken or Fallen that were affected by our actions in the Reef (although it could be both understood because we did wreck their homes and negated because the Queen-regent, P.V., asked for our assistance in this case). To say we broke any bond with the Vanguard Commander is an outrage, however. I've seen talk from others calling for a new Vanguard Commander/Titan Vanguard Leader. After reading this new flavor text, I'm all for it. I believe the sort of inaction and petty mouthing off he has been displaying lately might lead the Guardian to leave the City, much in the same fashion as Osiris, and I would not be too mad if a future DLC showed us that path.

5 RespuestasThe relationship is that prior to this, you were fundamentally a paragon of the Vanguard. Loyal to the city, willing to follow orders, not malicious, etc. Suddenly you've gone a bit rogue. Working with a known criminal and fugitive, disobeying orders, and (possibly) killing a beaten enemy in cold blood. That last one is the biggest issue, i think

The worst tool in the shed lol

I would remember what we learned about the Awoken during Forsaken. The Darkness is half of them. The other is Light. Zavala stood as a beacon for a long time and then his world was shattered. What happens when a pillar is fractured? Can it truly be made whole again? He may be succumbing to the Darkness, by despair and fear.

Zavala wanted to stay safe inside his little City walls like a coward, so when we decided to pick up the work for him and actually avenge our Vanguard like a true Guardian, he got all pissy and now hates us. Typical Titan shit.

Editado por blade329: 9/13/2018 4:56:22 PMZavala means nothing to me. He's almost irrelevant to my character. In fact, he's more of a hindrance than anything else. That could be part of the problem with light RPG in a loot based game. The game needs to convince me to care about the characters, and it does a pretty poor job most of the time. However, they did a decent job with Cayde, as I did care that Uldren offed him and I do want revenge. That was more of a case of his wit and endearing humor. Zavala has none of that. He's an empty suit. NPC's need to help me accomplish goals, not stand in my way.

2 RespuestasZavala doesn't have another Titan Vanguard replacement lined up by the way. If you're a Titan he suggests you as an option.
