Never tried, no galactic conquest = no playing from me as that disqualified it as a "battlefront" game. The originals are much better.

Conquest coming soon

hell the original second one let you play as the battle droids that rolled around. They never implemented them in the EA/Dice one even though they have models internally and stuff ….basically removed content for future trickle of holding players in.

Brooo droideka was my main class. Mostly cuz it was broken lol

DICE has confirmed that while they DID have a partial Droideka model, it proved too difficult to implement properly so they scrapped the whole thing. Apparently, the files for it aren't even in the build everyone has access to in the live game. So yes, it's cut content, but sadly it's not coming. Unless that changes drastically and suddenly, anyway.

So pandemic could make a working destroyer droid in a PS2 game, but a bigger developer with a better game engine and on a better system can't do it? The first battlefront also had destroyer droids. I guess DICE is either incompetent or that there are way too few people actually working on the game now, since it was a massive flop IMO.

You must also consider that the Frostbite engine is far and away much more graphically intensive than whatever the originals play on. The Droideka we would have gotten would likely have many moving parts and bits that bounce and shake as it moves along, let alone getting the curling and uncurling animations right. The only reason we got Droidekas in the originals is the model was practically static when uncurled and they weren't trying to get it as physically accurate as possible. And it was a massive flop as you called it because people lost their goddamn minds over perceived pay to win. It was rather similar to No Man's Sky, honestly. Sony hyped it to hell, and then when it didn't deliver everybody and their mother was bitching and moaning about it while blaming Hello Games despite them being an indie studio and not a AAA studio.

I was pretty much always cautious with BF2 2017, because of the massive dissapointment that was the first game. The beta sealed the deal for me, because the actual gameplay was still pretty boring. Offline split screen was also somehow even worse than the 2015 game, which is an achievement, because that game had one of the worst split screen experiences.
