Bungie, if you nerf the Whisper. . .
People will be mad. Instead, make [b]EXOTIC[/b] weapons just as strong, not all weapons (sheesh, I have to be very specific with you guys). Guardians want to feel powerful again. The Whisper of the Worm does that. I'm sure it brings a D1 feel back to the game. I don't even have it (I do now, though), but it shows me what Bungie can do to make exotics great again. It shows me what Bungie can do with secret missions and that is one thing I'm happy about.
Edit: I'm not talking about the nerf to box breathing and the catalyst. The Whisper hits for about 10K... a nerf I'm talking about, if it were to happen -- is to its damage... like, hitting for 10K and getting reduced to hitting for only 6K. That is a nerf. Do not touch the base weapon. Tweak catalyst all you want because base weapons remain untouched.
Edit 2: Man, some people don't get it. If we don't bring other exotics up to par with the Whisper we're going to have another "Must have" moment like D1 with the Ghorn. Do we want really want that? Do we really want the Whisper to be the only weapon people use because nothing else is viable? Do we want the Whisper to get neutered because it's too good? Clearly, I don't want hand cannons to do as much damage as the Whisper (unless we get a heavy exotic HC), that is insane, but a heavy exotic or another exotic sniper should hit for just as much... we should have more than one option. Exotics should be exciting and they should make us feel powerful. I can almost guarantee you that people who already have the Whisper will not change it for anything else unless something better comes out... and that is a sad, sad problem. Every exotic should give that feeling.
Edit 3: If you didn't play Destiny 1, you don't understand the paranoia as you call it. D1 Veterans just remember the nerfapocalypse that took place.

They nerf it because they want you to play longer, grind the bullet sponges, etc..... make the crucible fans have clean diapers for the nerf parade.

12 RespuestasI blame this whole mentality of "OMG, a weapon is OP, need to nerf it to death" on Bungie 100 percent. They spend the time to dev a weapon, and supposedly test it, then they hear the cries and immediately nerf it. They know full well what they're doing. They make it more powerful on purpose to stir up shit among the masses. All I can say is after over 6 years of playing Destiny its about mother F'ing time we were powerful enough to feel like Gods!!! So, why not let us have certain weapons that MAKE US FEEL THAT WAY without fear of having them neutered!!!???? This pattern of behavior by Bungie is sickening and they should be shamed of themselves to engage in it on purpose. RIP Whisper. FYI: I don't have one, yet!

5 RespuestasI agree the rest of the exotics need buffed. There's a lot of times I load into instances and I either have an exotic equipped just for the sake of having one equipped, or sometimes I don't even have one equipped at all. The Colony, Whisper of the Worm, Graviton Lance, Vigilance Wing, and Tractor Cannon are the only ones to me that feel like "Hey this is going to be useful here, I'll equip it." The rest have very specific niches, and some are just ridiculous and become useless after a certain thing is completed. The rest need some QoL and a large handful need big buffs desperately. *Looks at Prospector, Skyburner's Oath, and Jade Rabbit* Don't even get me started on the Exotic Armor. D1's felt so nice to have equipped and the ones in D2 are for the most part old D1 armor perks or slight improvements to something. What made D1 so great was the power fantasy of the Exotics it has, and due to the balancing of PvE and PvP intertwining then, we got shoddy balance, now that we can have separate balance, there's no excuse as to why I feel like my Exotics don't feel powerful enough.

5 RespuestasWeeeelllll, im extremely thankful that they gave us the whisper mission, made it awesome, and made the reward meaningful. People are and will continue to talk about how insanely OVERPOWERED it is. And it is. Its a little ridiculous. So much so that if they dont take it down a notch no one will use anything else. Its the go to right now... So i agree that it has to be nerfed.

4 RespuestasWhisper has already been nerfed. Notice now how many ghost bullets it shoots. Crit shots not registering and the white nail perk not procing. Been talking about this with others for the past couple weeks. Pretty sad when you shoot an Ogre in the face and only see white numbers.

Bungie don't care how good something is unless their pet streamers start crying about it OR we start having fun with it and use it 'too much'. If either of those happen the weapon is getting hit with the nerf hammer.

Some argue that DARCI still does more dps and you don't need to aim or reload if there is a Warlock in your fire team. Box Breathing isn't needed on the gun, if they leave whitenail alone Whisper is going to be great.

1 RespuestaThey had to create a buzz for the game. In comes wotw and it’s mission. The gun is fantastic so everyone wants it. Now we are at the phase where scrubs use crutches and real players diversify their weapon portfolio and stop using the easy button for the sake of integrity. Soon the bungaloids will provide evidence that the gun is too powerful and nerf it. Every time, every good gun, every good piece of armor. Every time.

1 RespuestaTo be fair though, whisper isn’t a random drop. It’s a must have for many and anyone can get it if they can beat the whisper mission. Ghorn got nerfed because it was a random drop and was insanely powerful. I agree though that we need more powerful exotic weapons like whisper.

I loooove Sweet Business but WotW is really cramping SB's style. Hope SB gets a damage buff to keep it competitive. Feel like any time I use it in the raid I am gonna get in trouble with the meta police.
