Competitive Matchmaking Change
Hey all, I have a quick update from the Crucible team

While we’re happy with the change to match players using Glory Rank we noticed that too often players were getting matched with opponents way out of band for their rank. In response to this, we’re rolling out changes to dramatically slow down how fast matchmaking expands the acceptable ranges of Glory Rank for opponents. This means finding matches may take longer but you’re more likely to find opponents of similar Glory Rank. These changes are live now. Thanks![/quote]

You screwed it up for me. I'm not a complainer. But this part of Destiny has been taken away from me. I want to be matched against other solo players who are of a similar skill level as me. Wouldn't KD or ELO be a better meter than the arbitrary Glory ranking? I'd like to have a radar in competitive but before the update I was adjusting my playing style, for comp., and was having fun. I'm never going to be amongst the best PVP players and I don't want to play against them because it is demoralizing.

1 RespuestaWhy did you remove the Glory points bonus at the weekly reset? Also you should do a Glorious weekend where you only lose 5 for a loss or no points loss up to rank 2. Season 3 is not around for much longer.

4 Respuestas1. Matchmaking is better. I'm still being matched against player waaay out of my league in skill. THAT'S the problem. 2. I am for climbing the ladder and practicing to get better. Getting smashed regularly by players who outclass me in ELO by 1K+ doesn't teach me and makes this mode discouraging for someone who really enjoyed the grind pre patch. 3. I was slowly working my way up the ladder and saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Forsaking (heh) nearly everything else in the game, spouting to my friends, "There is only one gun..." All of a sudden you changed the rules during the climb. If you are going to have seasons, let the season be the season. Making a change like that was unfair and changed the game for many if not all us. 4. Even with the complaints, I like the idea of Glory ranking just not mid season after setting a path before us. Especially when you change the game in such a vast way. I have gone from 50/50 win rate to going 0-10 post patch and not much better with the new change. 5. Other problems include quitters, low level players (lacking all subclasses/powers or ability to use exotics), disconnects/errors, etc. Most of which, we, the player, are punished for to the highest degree whether we are at fault or not.

1 RespuestaI just got matched against a team whose top player had over 250 more glory points than me, nearly 50% of my total more. The parameters are too wide.

2 RespuestasI gained over 300 pts playing solo over the weekend. Its definitely better then it was. Just wish you would get rid of the loss penalty.

I haven’t played comp mode since the ranking was introduced. I’d really like to jump in and play, but based on all of the negative feedback, I’ll continue to just stay the hell out. (Yep, I’m solo)

Let’s make quick play solo queue only. That would solve a lot of issues. Let the sweaty competitive players have their teams in their playlists. Letting them bring teams to Quick play just defeats the purpose of having a casual playlist.

Seems pretty simple. Balance both teams, if one side has a 4 premade then the other side have a 4. Every match I've had has been me on the team of randoms versus an organized premade. Don't the premades want to play other premades? ;)
